We had a wonderful stay and we will definitely be back.
A total experience at Diddly Squat. So quaint! Loved the ambience and creativeness! Met true gems of hosts! See you soon!
This is the place to stay in the Berg. It is very different to other accommodation, but the uniqueness is refreshing and a wonderful experience. The accommodation provides you with a clear view of the Berg and is close to hiking trails, shops, and restaurants. The hosts are wonderful.
It was an absolute pleasure staying at 'Diddly Squat'. And such fun to meet the creative genius behind these unique dwellings. Being digital nomads, the internet was important for us. Luckily, I was able to hold the Zoom call on the roof - as you do! Our client thought it was fun and quirky too. Thank you very much for your lovely hospitality. We are looking forward to returning when we're next in the country.
Green grass, beautiful view, unique cave house, cool rock pools. No, we can't comment negatively on anything. We put this place high on our list of best. The rock bath was a definite highlight. An interesting person with many stories that enriched the visit. Thank you. It was great!
Was for sure a very nice adventure to experience, everything was perfect.
Very nice. Weather was not great.
We booked for a longer stay in December.
A lovely, calm environment. The owners had fun setting up the overnight facilities and are proud of it. I would recommend anyone to spend the night or enjoy a long weekend here.
A really beautiful setting for this unique and very comfortable cave. The hosts are very accommodating and friendly and helpful as to activities and sights in the area.
Very beautiful, the location is fantastic, the hosts very friendly and very safe. Can't wait to visit in the summer.
We slept very well there, in Didly Squat. Such a cute "cave" everything is there that is needed. It is quiet and peaceful and everything is very tidy. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an extraordinary place to stay. Estelle and Steve are very nice people. Steve Bull is also a talented artist, his work is very special.
Our hosts make a great team, and artistic surroundings with a grounding that ensured our stay was just what we needed.
Although our stay was brief, it was worth it. A lovely, peaceful place to relax. Magnificent views that one could get used to. Steve and Estelle are kind, friendly and helpful. A lovely couple. Inkunzi is a place to remember.
The hut is a quaint, creative and neat little gem, with lovely views of the mountains and is ideal for a short stay. The owners are friendly and respond quickly to any questions. It is in a secured area with access to a hiking trail within a short walking distance. There is a shop and restaurant at the adjacent property. Keep in mind, it is very small, and though it has an open air braai area and access to the pool, it may not be ideal in the rainy season as there is no outside area under roof, and also no under-roof parking if it should hail.
This was an absolutely amazing stay in Steve and Estelle's accommodation. Their hearts and souls are poured out into their accommodation, making it the most unique place we've ever stayed in - not forgetting the stunning view along with it! I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anybody, and we'll be back soon too for another relaxing weekend.
It's only suitable for 2 people. The booking said there are 2 bedrooms, but it's only 1 bedroom with a sofa bed in the middle of the living room/kitchen. This makes it very uncomfortable when there are more than 2 people. There is not the privacy of a second room for a couple. For 2 people it is perfect and completely different from the usual overnight stay. The view is incredibly beautiful and the host and wife are really nice people and very friendly. You can walk everywhere and the atmosphere is out of the books.
Prime location before a visit to the Drakensberg.
Courtesy of the owners, the exceptional talent with the creation of the Cave House and all the works of art inside the house, the beautiful "rock pool" with the view of the landscape made our stay an absolutely exceptional experience. We tell everyone that they have to go and experience it. The fact that it was right next to the Drakensberg Boys' School gave us the opportunity to attend their concert - another very special experience. Definitely one for our Book of Memories.
Wow what a great stay we had here with lovely and very creative host Steve and her wife Estelle,. we stayed at the Inkunzi Cave and it was so beautiful, Steve made the cave together with a few guys, and the decoration (painting, carvings) did Steve himself made. You have to see for yourself how well it's made. And the garden is also very pretty with a huge pool and stunning views of the Drakensberge, I hope we will return someday to experience this piece of heaven right there again!
It was great to wake up to the view of the mountains through the window of Diddly Squat. Everything needed was in the room. The decor makes one smile and transports you into another culture. We enjoyed it very much.
Thanks Steve and Estelle for the amazing stay, what a beautiful place. An experience for the memory book. Hope to see you soon again.
Quiet, beautiful and is even more beautiful than on the website.
The Zulu Hut was very unique and peculiar. Central location, beautiful views and safe. The double shower is awesome and spacious!
Very beautiful and peaceful, friendly people. Wonderful view and very good accommodation. Feel free to check them out, not your everyday accommodation.
Inkunzi Cave is so special, the art in the cave is amazing, the view was breathtaking, the owners were hospitable and made us feel welcome, we will definitely visit Inkunzi Cave again.
The Zulu hut was perfect, neat, clean and private. The rock pools were awesome. Definitely something different. The location is perfect with the most beautiful mountains and nature. It is also close to many activities so you don't have to drive far. Thank you very much!
The place is beautifully decorated thematically. All the amenities are there. From your bed you have a view of the Champagne Castle mountain peaks. The rock pool you can swim in is amazing.
Beautiful view, no game, only some birds.
It is very beautiful with a lovely view and very friendly people. Would definitely be better on sunny days because with 2 big teenagers the space is getting a bit small. The cottage is fully equipped and every item you can think of is there and available. It's very beautiful and a lovely experience. Very glad I booked there; is a little different from the usual house to spend the night in. Thank you very much for the opportunity to visit the cottage.
Thank you Steve and Estelle. It was a special experience, view, stories and art. We will definitely come again. Thank you for the friendly reception and the welcome feeling. For the beautiful cave hut and the rock pool. It was indescribably fun and our wedding anniversary couldn't have been better. This is a must for anyone looking for a unique accommodation experience.
My wife and I had a wonderful time here for a weekend, would love to go back again.
Will definitely book at Inkunzi again.
My family and I had an awesome experience staying at Estelle and Steve's accommodation. We were blown away by not only the accommodation but by the hospitality of the owners, being so welcoming and lovely. We recommend it for anybody looking to get away for a few days!
What a wonderful particle from heaven! We enjoyed it so much! Breathtaking view! Unique place to stay! It exceeded our expectations! We will definitely go there again! We didn't want to go home to dull Gauteng.
A friendly welcome at a piece of heaven on earth. The unit is well equipped and secure, with breathtaking views. Of course we enjoyed the private rock pool hole out. We recommend Inkunzi Cave anytime, 10/10.
Steve is 'n wonderlike skilder/ tekenaar. Ons sal beslis weer gaan.
Our stay at Inkuzi Cave, Zulu Hut and Diddly Squat was absolutely amazing! We stayed in the Zulu Hut and Diddly Squat and loved every second of our stay. The owners were so friendly and open and we left feeling like family. The level of detail in each of the accommodation units were so cute and fitting to the allocated theme, we had everything we needed. The views were amazing and the kids really enjoyed swimming in the rock pools. There are a lot of cute shops to visit close by and lots of things to do which only made our stay more memorable. Our stay at the Zulu Hut and Diddly Squat was so unique and special and we loved that its not your typical type of accommodation. We felt safe and welcome from the moment we arrived and will definitely be going back and I can recommend this as a holiday destination to anyone wanting to visit this part of the Drakensberg region.
This was our second stay at Diddly Squat because it is so unique and innovative. Virtually living in a cave with its Rainbow Nation feel and ambience makes it so inviting. Did I forget to mention the view of the mountains when you open your eyes in the morning? Well, I will happily say that it's the best and makes you feel so relaxed. The accommodation is centrally situated to either going for hikes from Monks Cowl, visiting the reptile park, witnessing majestic birds of prey at Falcon Ridge and a quick drive to many restaurants and eateries. This in addition to many other activities are available for all ages.
We had the most awesome stay there. The place is so lovely and beautiful. The swimming pool was great in the heat.
What a beautiful place and the best hosts ever! We had the best time and would love to stay there again! What a special place!
Loved the surroundings. Bliss.
This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Steve treat you like royalty. Not many places offer you a view of the berg when lying on your bed. Will definitely be back.
Hospitality is outstanding, everything you need is there. Amazing view from all the windows. Private and romantic. A must. Do recommend this for any couple for a romantic break away. Can also take 2 small kids. The views is to fall in love with. Artwork in caves is outstanding. Uncle Steve is a real darling. I fell in love with this place.
Stunning. Will be back!
Very nice place, beautiful views and a lot to do in the area. Will definitely return.
Incredibly beautiful. Above expectations special. Would definitely recommend to everyone, it's very original accommodation.
An absolute gem of a place. Being an older couple, I would rather book the Zulu Hut or Cave next time. However, what an experience. Steve and Estelle are superb hosts. Will definitely be back!
Perfectly located for visits to various nearby attractions and walking routes in the area.
It was so nice to stay in the cabin! It's much bigger than we expected! It has an excellent location and exceptional service.
Inkunzi Cave is a terribly beautifully designed place with its own rock pool, very private with a fantastic view of the Drakensberg as well as the valley, definitely recommended.
Steve, the owner, thought every place through. We stayed in the Diddly Squat and enjoyed it very much. I can't put Steve's creativity into words. If you like something else, go and experience it. Lovely hiking routes and a one in a million artist.
We stayed in the Zulu Hut, which was great! Built by Steve himself. Unfortunately, we stayed only one night, but we'd love to come back one day.
Diddly Squat may be more suitable for "Backpackers" or people who travel light. Inkunzi Cave is special. The handiwork of Steve, owner and artist is visible and special everywhere.
We spent a couple of nights in the little cave/shack, very quiet and private, mostly barbecuing and making delicious campfires, one rainy night cooking on the gas stove and on cold nights a fire in the charcoal stove. Wonderful experience with very pleasant host and hostess.
Our expectations were high, but were far exceeded! The scenery is breathtaking and the hospitality fantastic. We are so glad we discovered this gem!
