19 guests' feedbackIt was just okay. The room was very cold. The only way to get warm was to stay in bed as it had a fitted electric blanket. There was no charging spot next to the bed. There was no phone reception and the WiFi connection was not so good. The rooms are clean as per the pics.
Lovely location and grounds. While the accommodation was adequate, it was overpriced for the quality of what is provided. Customer service from the hosts was also okay but a little hands-off, particularly in relation to our advance request for a vegetarian meal, which resulted in a last-minute omelette. Not exactly a demonstration of thoughtfulness or attention to detail. If you're looking for a place to simply rest your head while on the road, this is not a bad choice. But if you're looking for a homely and welcoming experience as part of a holiday, look elsewhere.
The accommodation was great and very friendly. Good experience.
Overpriced. Room and especially bathroom needs a lot of TLC. Awkward step from shower onto floor with a shower door that does not open completely. Not recommended for anyone struggling with mobility. Dirty and old pillows and pillow cases. Supper was terrible and very limited bar. Breakfast was sufficient. Loved the dogs on the property though.
Very pleasant pub and restaurant.
Particularly beautiful landscape, neat environment, very friendly reception and nice pure white and clean bedding.
We were able to go for a walk with the hosts' dogs and experience the cliffs on one side and the wide view on the other. The bed and bathroom were comfortable. In the evening we ate well-prepared food in the reataurant by the cozy fire in the braai place to ward off the cold. The breakfast excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you very much, it was nice.
Big difference from our last time we stayed. The towels were rock hard, the breakfast was really not of the good quality of before. The rooms were also not as tidy as last time. Reception was friendly, but I don't believe we will easily spend the night there again.
No masks for any of the staff or guests. No sanitising. It was as if COVID was happening somewhere else. Steak and pork chops were badly cooked. Breakfast was nicely prepared but just a cup of juice of unknown origins and vintage in the dispenser and just two (unmatched) coffee cups (for the instant coffee) in the whole dining room. Possibly acceptable in a backpackers but not in an hotel charging these prices. A very tricky 40cm step out of the shower - in the poorly constructed and unimpressive en suite in what was otherwise a nice looking room.
The room was neat the food and breakfast was delicious. The management and staff are top notch.
We had a nice stay, slept peacefully and had a delicious breakfast. Thank you.
Really nothing wrong with the service, was very good and friendly and the food was good. The room/bathrooms are quite small and the shower is dangerous when you get out. I had to hold the bathroom door open to get out, and there is quite a step and you have to be very careful when you get out because you can slip and get hurt. There were noisy guests. I had to shut one up and a regular decided to come visit at 11:30 p.m., rev up his grumpy car and drive off at a breakneck speed that probably woke most of us up. Hopefully a once off, but not good for them. My biggest gripe - the small room and bathroom, if you are taller than 6 feet you will find it difficult to shower and sit down.
Only one bath towel in the room and no face towel, problem for two people. Service was bad, at breakfast, the dinner (which was tasteless) remnants had not been cleared and the tables were messy. At breakfast at least one staff member (the manager on duty?) had not bothered to get dressed properly, was in an old t-shirt and slippers (stokkies).
Pretty surroundings on slopes of the Drakensberg at the foot of the Barkley Pass. Enjoy warm welcome and delicious pizza. Their restaurant has a good variety of food they offer. Within stone throw of main road. Rooms are tidy.
Beautiful scenery, hostess made a lot of effort with food on Christmas Eve. Thank you very much.
Staff are helpful and hospitable. Will definitely visit again if we are in the area.
Had a nice overnight stay. Thank you.
Facilities acceptable but not very good.
