Visitors have truly arrived once they head off down Inversanda’s 2.5 km driveway and see the Inhlosane mountain amphitheatre unfold in front of them, with the farm nestling in its footsteps.
The farm offers a break to a world where nature paints the panorama viewed from all the cottages. Self-catering accommodation is offered in The Judge’s House, the Farmhouse Private Wing, and The Barn Cottage, all of which have their own kitchen facilities. Wholesome farmhouse meals are available on request using local seasonal produce.
A variety of indoor and outdoor games are available at the farm house including badminton, croquet, scrabble, jenga and a selection of puzzles. Then if you are not worn out by the evening, or on rainy days, there is a pool table and table tennis table in a converted stable central to all the cottages.
3 km of the Umgeni River meanders through the farm. There are many picnic sites where visitors can spend lazy afternoons. While the river is undoubtedly the favourite swimming spot, the farmhouse swimming pool offers a convenient alternative. There is also a trampoline.

16 guests' feedbackInversanda Farm Cottages was the perfect Midlands escape. The breathtaking views combined with a warm and welcoming atmosphere made our short stay unforgettable. We’ve found our go-to retreat in this beautiful part of South Africa. Highly recommended.
Fantastic as always - clean and fresh. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
We had a wonderful time. The location and view were awesome, and the accommodation just beautiful. The host and her husband were so friendly and helpful. G.
Beautiful, authentic and characterful farmhouse with spacious rooms, large living rooms with nice fireplace for evening visits. Can't stop looking at the incredible scenery around the farmhouse. Dinner and breakfast in dining room with large table and also fireplace. Very tasty food with lots of homemade ingredients. Wonderful hospitality from the owners with many interesting stories of the farmhouse. Everyone in our group of 11 was very impressed with Inversanda.
The owners were kind and friendly and served us a delicious dinner on Friday. Rich bird life and nice hiking trails. Two calves had been born in the meantime. The chickens and horses came to greet us one morning. Beautiful scenery.
Peaceful and quiet stay with beautiful views and rich animal life. The hosts were warm and friendly, and very helpful. Would love to return for a longer period of time to go on more walks in the area. It is quite isolated, so be aware that driving in and out every day to explore the Midlands might be a bit of a drag, especially in a normal or low profile sedan. No TV in our cottage, which we didn't mind at all, as we loved the fireplace and listening to the sounds at night. Good WiFi connection!
We had a great stay in the cottage (we were upgraded) and enjoyed real farm life and cattle nearby. Wish we could stay longer and explore further! The owners are particularly friendly and have met every request.
We have decided to make a yearly visit to Inversanda. Most fantastic time!
Nice peaceful farm atmosphere, owners are wonderful people who care about their guests. Kitchen is just too small with just enough space for one person.
The tube ride down the river is brilliant!
We had a lovely overnight stay at Inversanda. The owners were friendly and helpful, even when we got lost in the middle of the plantations on our way to them. GPS doesn't work, so just follow their route. Incredibly beautiful area on a lovely and peaceful farm. Beautiful, large, spacious house. We will definitely remember for the future.
Excellent host - we were moved to a larger detached farmhouse with an unbeatable view of the farm. It is a bit further from the main attractions in the Midlands but will work if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. The farm road can offer a bit of a challenge for ordinary sedans.
If you want to find peace and quiet and enjoy off the beaten track holidaying, then Inversanda is the perfect destination. The hosts are so friendly and charming, the accommodation is well-equipped and neat as a pin. We will definitely be back in 2021!
Our hosts Lucinda and Tom went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The accommodation has everything you need and is wonderfully spacious. The nice porch overlooking the beautiful mountains is a bonus. Although we were part of the farm, and could enjoy the animals, the accommodation was very private and a fireplace with plenty of wood provided a lovely atmosphere. The farm is also close enough to the tourist attractions but also far enough to ensure tranquility. We had a great time!
Wonderful location and facilities, will definitely book there again if going to that area. House is large and well kitted out and the farm environment is really special.
We sought out the mountains and the silence that goes with them and found them at Inversanda. Fantastic view of the mountains, the cattle were so friendly, beautiful well looked after farm. The host and hostess were extremely hospitable and made sure we were happy and had everything we needed.

The private wing was therefore converted into a self-contained unit to help the farm get on its feet. The first bedroom contains an extra-length king-size bed. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The cottage has a kitchenette, a dining room, and a large sitting room with a fireplace, which makes it really cosy in winter.
