The area is malaria-free, but that doesn’t mean it’s not wild. Giraffe, antelope and baboon roam free, and frequently forage between the chalets. You may even spot an elusive leopard high in the hills overlooking the camp. At night the jackals sing you to sleep.
Above all, iZapa is quiet. Whether you’re lounging on a deck chair in the river sand at the swimming pool, taking a stroll through the bush or relaxing in your chalet, the only sounds you’re likely to hear are those of the more than 150 bird species found here.
Accommodation is offered in 9 private chalets, each featuring luxurious bathrooms and outside showers. Each chalet can accommodate 2 guests, and has outside seating, a patio, a TV with selected DStv channels, and tea- and coffee-making facilities.
Meals can be elegantly prepared by the lodge staff. Guests can relax in the communal lounge and bar area, or by the swimming pool.
Experience the African bush on foot, from the back of the game viewing vehicle or from your private patio. Guided game drives are available with qualified guides.
The iZapa Bush and Game Lodge is also the ideal conference venue. The perfectly appointed and air-conditioned boardroom seats 25 delegates.

46 guests' feedbackWe had an amazing time. The rooms were perfect for us, the reception facilities were amazing and the service great. All the meals were sit down and were amazing. The team at iZapa were friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed it so much. We were treated like royalty. We will make this an annual adventure for sure.
The food was out of this world.

Staff was excellent.
In one word - Fantastic! Many thanks to the staff, the service was just fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious, our rooms ready in the evening with a heater on, the bar was always ready with a drink, we returned home a few kilos heavier. Thank you very much, will definitely recommend you and we will be back for another weekend away in the tranquility of the forest. You guys are great!
Yes, we had a good rest. We only present their lodge bakkie to their service, because we booked a game drive and then the battery died. So you may not drive your vehicle alone at all. It was quite disappointing for all the guests who were there, and everyone felt that the food prices were a bit bad, especially the breakfast. If you pay R250pp, you expect a decent breakfast. Dinner was very nice and the staff are all so nice. Will definitely go again.
We wanted a romantic weekend away in the bush. I had torn my ligaments in my ankle and cannot walk properly. We opted for a lodge that offers game drives. They advertised game drives on their website, and that was the reason we booked there. On arrival, we were informed that the game drive is at 16h00 on Saturday. Later on, we were told that there are no game drives as their vehicle is broken and the engine completely removed. If we were informed on arrival, we would have asked for our money back and booked at another game lodge. We were the only people at the lodge, maybe it says something.
Accommodation and food not cheap, but of high quality. You feel welcome from the moment you arrive at reception. Always friendly service. Will definitely go again. Rain washed out roads a bit and made passability difficult.
We had dinners and breakfast with iZapa. The food was top quality. Service was good and the farm surrounding the lodge was beautiful.
Really enjoyed it!
GPS location on Google maps has been an absolute nightmare. Resort admits many people complain about it. Restaurant area cold, pool and around pool need some change. Sun loungers can be replaced. Personnel very competent and good, but no, I will not visit the resort again. Resort no warm feeling, it's like people don't want to interact with anyone. I have been in much better places in my life. Meals are very nice, but are very expensive and together with drinks it gets a bit rough. No game drive was available, resort nothing arranged. No sign of any wildlife, wonder if there are mice on the farm.
Neat place and great food.
Everyone was very helpful and the food was VERY tasty! Will visit the lodge again.
If I could give 10 stars to Izapa, I would. We received royal service and hospitality from the staff who really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The food was top notch and fair in terms of price. There was safe and enough space to park our car. The chalet is neat and clean, and very comfortable. It is also very private. The game drive has a variety of animals that can be viewed with an adventure of a trail. We will definitely visit Izapa again in the future and can definitely recommend them to anyone. The dirt road has good indications of where to drive and is not too bad for a car to drive on. Many thanks to Izapa for our wonderful break. We'll see you again soon!
Food is incredibly delicious. Very friendly. Very neat.
Our weekend was wonderful! Although some guests were quite loud, one must remember that the lounge/bar is for everyone's comfort. Enjoyed watching rugby together. The rooms are designed this way without giving up privacy. When you're in your room you don't know about anyone or anything. The host, cook, bartender were friendly and always attentive to everyone's needs. The food is fresh and of a high quality. Thank you for going the extra mile to serve me vegetarian dishes. We will definitely go to iZapa Bush and Game Lodge again - maybe with a group of 9.
Nice for a weekend getaway. Food is amazing and the service is great. Will definitely vacation here again.
I will love to come back soon. The place is beautiful and excellent service.
Very nice stay. Friendly staff and the best food!
Really awesome meals. Quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend for restful get away. All round great break away.
Daniël the bartender is the pivot around which the place revolves with his outgoing personality.
Amazing service from the staff at the restaurant. Very friendly and very hospitable. Rooms are absolutely beautiful and clean. Bathroom and outdoor shower stunning. Definitely a hidden gem!
Excellent escape from the city with a very peaceful atmosphere. Food is top notch. Not the cheapest, but worth the money.
Customer service is top notch and makes the whole weekend. They are friendly and hospitable. The food is delicious and they make anything you want at any time. Rooms are clean and tidy every day. They make your bed for you before bed with a treat. Lovely to hang out with a group of people in the reception area. You make good friends.
There wasn't much to do, but it had been the best. We really enjoyed the food and the time away together was special. Thank you!
I wanted to go away for a weekend because I'm soul tired and I haven't closed an eye for two nights. The fan made so much noise and we had to turn it on because of the bugs and heat. The pillows on the bed are so flat and really just not nice to sleep on. The food was really the only highlight but the flies were unbearable. And there are no candles or nets or fans to keep the flies away from the food. The game drive they charge extra for was also really pathetic and we had to sit for an hour and a half very uncomfortable. The payment at the end of our visit was just as fiasco and about half way home we realized we were charged way too much money and then had to turn around to sort it out. There were amounts charged on the final bill that didn't even have descriptions - just 40 items of nothing at R28 an item, ridiculous amounts and stuff. It was really, really just not worth it and I even had a panic attack from tiredness and exhaustion when we pulled up at home.
The team at iZapa made us feel right at home and the lodge is set in a beautiful bush surrounded with birds and antelope all around! The food was a bit expensive though! The first night with a full 3-course meal was great but to pay the same for a braai is not on! Lovely lodge though!
The rooms were nice and big, the service was exceptional along with the excellent food.
Couldn't measure temperatures for Covid. No pillows or patio furniture, no minibar or fridge or trash can in room. Duvet just fits on the bed.
Was the perfect getaway choice to celebrate a relaxing, romantic weekend away with my wife. Nice, quiet, peaceful and intimate. The units are beautifully built and furnished. We were very impressed! The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious. We had a great time! Only recommendation to management, is that in the main hall bar/restaurant area, the television music selected is appropriate and fits into the peaceful and tranquil environment. They had MTV playing load music the afternoon, evening and the next morning with breakfast with mostly hip-hop or pop. Hey, I'm not saying that I'm not a fan, but not appropriate for your beautiful bushveld environment
We went for a game drive and long walks. A day trip to Cullinan was also fun. The staff are very attentive to our every need and the food was top notch. The lodge is well maintained.
We drove through from Pretoria to iZapa for one evening. What a great choice! It's dead quiet and doesn't feel like you're just outside the city. The chalet is beautiful and stylish and the best is the beautiful, large outdoor shower! The staff are so friendly and you enjoy talking to them. Best of all is probably Thandi's food! The woman knows about - we ate incredibly well. Will definitely go back to iZapa!
TK and Wilfred made us feel incredibly at home and their friendly professional service was really something special. We would definitely go back again and recommend it to anyone out there. The food that was served to us was indescribably delicious! Thank you so much iZapa, fantastic!
We booked the cottage, which is an incredible experience. Daniel and Wilfred went out of their way to serve us and make us feel at home. Away from the city's rush to the tranquility of nature's silence. We'll be back for sure!
Very nice, staff is friendly and very helpful. We immediately felt welcome. Will definitely visit iZapa again.
The people are very friendly and helpful. The place is stunning, very beautifully maintained. The food was delicious.
Very peaceful weekend. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice dinner and breakfast.
Friendly staff and always there to assist. I do think that the pillows in the rooms were a little soft which made it a bit uncomfortable to sleep. Other than that the vibes were good and amazing food.
IZapa Bush and Game Lodge is an excellent weekend away with top quality service! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone!
Beautiful place with so many animals to see and very lush.
We had a wonderful time at the lodge. The service was excellent and the rooms very neat and clean. We felt very well looked after. A very relaxing stay.
