The lodge has a main camp, self-catering units, tent camps as well as a private bush cabin.
The main camp is rented as a unit and has 6 chalets, each with 1 bedroom, an en-suite bathroom, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. These rooms accommodate 2 guests each. There are 2 family rooms at the main camp and they each accommodate a family of no more than 5. These rooms also have an en-suite bathroom and tea- and coffee-making facilities. A shared kitchen, bar, braai area, and a cold water pool are also part of the main camp.
The honeymoon suite has a private braai area and a fully equipped kitchen.
The luxury self-catering units are all en-suite units. Each unit has a kitchen that is fully equipped with a stove, microwave, bar fridge, crockery, and a sink area. There is a private braai and lounge area at each unit. There is a swimming pool at the self-catering units.
The 2 safari tents each have a private bathroom, braai area, and there is no electricity. There is a donkey for hot water but no power. The kitchen is equipped with a gas and charcoal stove, and all the necessary crockery and cutlery. Both tents have access to a pool that is only filled in the summer. The Kruis River also flows past the units in summer. These units are approximately 3 km from the main camp.
The forest house is within walking distance of the tents, but about 3 km from the main camp. It features an open-plan bedroom and lounge. The en-suite bathroom has a shower, toilet, and basin. There is also an outside bathroom with an open-air shower and a toilet. The unit has its own kitchen with a gas and charcoal stove, as well as a nice braai area. There is an icebox for ice that is replenished daily. All the necessary crockery and cutlery are provided. Power is not available, but the unit features solar lights and hot water provided by means of a donkey. The Kruis River flows past the house.

106 guests' feedbackSuper chill and tranquil. I will be visiting again.
Very quiet and tidy.
Denise and Andre were super hospitable, the rest of the staff were also very friendly. Izinkwe Lodge is just beautiful.
Was very nice and peaceful, switch off a lot when you sit there around the campfire. The wildlife walks around the house as you make yourself at home was very nice.
Enjoyed the silence. Friendly staff who were very helpful.
Very peaceful and the house was clean and tidy with everything you need. Staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. Was able to relax and just forget about the city's hustle and bustle.
Andre and Denise as well as the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Izinkwe is very clean and tidy. We enjoyed the tranquility and relaxed very hard. Just make sure you take the necessary food and drink with you. It is a short drive to the nearest shops.
Friendly staff. Clean house! Kitchen was fully equipped! We had a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend Izinkwe Lodge!
The 4x4 route is not for amateurs. It is perfect for larger groups.
Most beautiful scenery and food for the soul.
Would go again anytime.
Thank you very much for your friendly service. The self-catering unit (no. 12) in which we stayed was well equipped, very neat and clean. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The nature and the wildlife are beautiful. We could go for a walk to see animals. I heartily recommend Izinkwe Lodge to anyone in need of a getaway.
Management was friendly, rooms tidy, grounds tidy. Nature and animals beautiful. However, there is no restaurant as advertised and the nearest shops are at Loskop. Will definitely book there again.
The staff at Izinkwe were very helpful and accommodating. The Bush Cabin was not available due to water supply issues, but we were allocated a suitable alternative chalet at the main lodge. The unit was comfortable, sufficiently private and had a good bush feel to it. The kids enjoyed the pool and the put put. The game sightings were good, especially the tame Nyala family that likes to feed around the main lodge (also saw warthog, Kudu, bushbuck, impala, duiker and mongoose).
Wonderfully serene - bucks come to eat around the chalets at night - this is so amazing. Very clean - and very friendly staff.
Was very hot inside the house and think the Bush Cabin could do with a bit more insulation in the roof. But it was a wonderful break, very beautiful and very kind people and so helpful. Will definitely go to kiss again.
Very quiet and clean Lodge. The Lodge is well managed and Loretta was very helpful and friendly.
Izinkwe caters for everyone. The facilities are excellent!
Very peaceful and quiet and close to nature. Everything neat, clean and comfortable. Owners can pay attention to maintenance of the forest house. Also inform visitors that the road from Sekhukhune is very bad and that it is better to drive via Groblersdal. Remind visitors to bring insect repellent as windows must remain open at all times due to heat. Recommendation: Marked footpaths as well as a "bird hide" will increase the visitor value, especially for nature lovers.
Ideal for group booking for functions.
Peaceful, breathtakingly beautiful. The staff were very friendly, the game drive is an absolute must. Restaurant has delicious food chef is available on request. Chalets very neat.
The journey to Suen as soon as you drive through the gate is extremely enchanting, especially if it's your first time and you see wildlife as you drive in to the reception. The light rain that was there created a breathtakingly beautiful atmosphere around the neat landscape in which Izinkwe sits. The service was great and my overall feeling was safety. You can definitely rest.
Where to start, the place is great and its people. Upon our arrival we immediately felt welcome. The silence of nature makes one forget about reality. You are surrounded by green trees that make you feel safe, away from everything. The premises are neat and clean, definitely more beautiful than the photos. We were blessed to see a lot of wildlife on the game drive. We really enjoyed our break. We want to say thank you to everyone at Izinkwe Lodge. Can't wait for our next visit.
Mental and physical rest is to be found here. Staff hospitable and friendly. Enjoyed the weekend in the silence and tranquility of nature.
It was breathtaking and beautiful.
Dit is 'n pragtige plek, goed geleë, veilig en prentjiemooi, waarde vir geld en lekker plek om te rus en agteroor te sit ontspan.
The Bush Cabin is a secluded refuge with beautiful views of the rolling hills that surround Izinkwe Lodge. It is a most relieving antidote to the hustle and bustle of city life. There will be daily visits from families of warthogs who love cropping the fine green grass near the cabin, a large herd of impala and the ostriches who like to sleep over in the nearby veld. Be careful not to leave food out, as it will be swiftly filched by the nimble-fingered monkeys constantly on the look out for opportunities. The rippling of the brook (grandly named the Kruisrivier) as it meanders by, right next to the cabin. Stoke the donkey for a wonderful hot shower. Gas stove for cooking and solar power for lighting. Bring you power bank to recharge your phone and your guitar for some music at the fire at night. Brace yourself for a stiff climb up the 4X4 track to summit the hill behind, more families of zebra, giraffe, waterbuck, nyala and even some sable are up there, along with the breathtaking views.
We stayed in the tented camp. Very neat and clean. Everything you need is provided, all you take is food and clothes. The silence and animals provide food for your soul. What a lovely time!
I hadn't even arrived at the place when the owner/manager and his wife stopped me at the dam and told me that there was a lot of mud on the road to the tents and that they would give me one of the places in the main camp will make available what they did and didn't make me pay anything extra for a more expensive place. The place is really worth it and just take your camera with you, because the place lends itself to many beautiful photo-taking opportunities. Thanks to Izinkwe and staff for a great time, see you soon.
We had a wonderful, relaxing time!
Would definitely recommend for a getaway.
In the simplicity lies the jewel. The fact that there is no cell catchment, no Eskom power and hot water is provided by a donkey contributed to a full weekend of doing nothing. You sit on the porch and watch the animals and listen to all the bird life. The game viewing is a highlight, our drive was 3 hours in the afternoon and yielded little game. We were offered a free ride for the next afternoon but we were lucky with the animals that came to say hello at the safari tent. Thanks to all the staff who were so kind. The free ice cream delivered twice a day, another bonus. The firewood is affordable and nice and dry. My wife and I could not have celebrated our wedding anniversary in a better place. Thank you for sharing the beautiful piece of nature with us.
Enjoyed the reception. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Chalets are spotless and clean. Enjoyed every minute and the game drive.
Thank you for the good customer service and nice environment.
We really enjoyed the bush camp. Quiet and relaxing. It was, however, a very cold weekend and we understand it's a bush camp, but if all the gaps between the wooden slats were sealed and the hole under the basin closed it would be a little better insulated instead of feeling the windy breeze on our heads whilst asleep.
Our stay was lovely and relaxing. Nature and silence were precious. Izinkwe is a well-preserved gem. Thank you to our hosts who helped us to make our stay even more special!
It was great and we we enjoyed it.
A place that offers pleasure to city dwellers.
Excellent service, clean, tidy and safe.
The bush hut where we stayed was well-equipped and the fact that there is no electricity didn't bother us. The rain on both nights were lovely and cooled the house down. LED lights are sufficient and there's enough wood to warm the water with the donkey. You can see animals grazing close-by, which is a bonus.
People were hospitable and friendly. But the amount was too much for what was expected. Especially since 8 cottages have to use the same kitchen and fridges. Would have liked to be more private than between a bunch of people who wanted to cook at the same time, too rushed.
The picnic for 2 together with the game drive was incredibly fun and we would definitely recommend it because they put a lot of effort into it.
Wonderful management and staff. Very neat and camp is really 5 star and very neat. Lots of animals to see and the picnic was fantastic.
We were just not prepared for the fact that there is no power at the Forest Camp, but it was nice to relax a bit without power and signal.
What a pleasure to be on holiday at such a neat and well looked after resort.
It was very nice at the Izinkwe Lodge. All the people are very friendly en gave us a nice welcome. The animals are so tame, they walk past you when you drive in with your vehicle. Will definitely go again.
Fantastic. Will go there again.
Very calm, quiet, relaxing with a beautiful setting. The gardens are well maintained and blend in with the natural habitat. Amazing sunsets at the dam. The Jacuzzi was a great treat after our run. Suitable for mountain biking, walking, running or just relaxing at the pool. The units are comfortable & the communal kitchen is adequately equipped. There is plenty wildlife to enjoy. The dinners were exceptional with fresh produce and meat. The cost is also very reasonable. There are many bomas to use and to relax with a fire. The service was very and extremely helpful. There is also a chapel for weddings.
Beautiful, clean, friendly. Will go back any time.
The time at Izinkwe Lodge was really very nice, relaxing and appreciating nature.
Saskia and I had a great stay, thank you. Beautiful, clean and peaceful with friendly workers and hostess.
Excellent. From the accommodation to service, Will definitely go back.
Everything was perfect the service we received there was great and the service we received from the manager was great. The Friday night braai was special and my brother-in-law and his family were just as impressed with juk resort and will also use you if we ever have to go to those regions again. Unfortunately, on our way back we drove somewhere wrong, no signboards, so we took a bad road over the mountains to get to Middelburg but really enjoyed the scenery. We didn't use the sauna because the smell wasn't too good, maybe the carpets are too musty.
Clean, audible, friendly staff, fresh linen and towels.
What a surprise! Wonderful place to celebrate a special event! Very neat. Well appointed accommodation. Very friendly service. Lots of birds for bird watchers. Would recommend Izinkwe for family break. Something for everyone. Thank you very much Dries.
The short weekend away was incredibly fun! Everyone is very friendly. The picnic on the mountain and the game drive were also incredibly fun. There are many different types of animals that one can see. Thank you very much for the nice weekend. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed it. We will definitely go back again!
The staff were friendly, the premises safe and clean and there were lots to see and do. Would definitely go again.
We had a fantastic weekend. The only thing we found lacking was adequate signboards along the route to and from the camp to our tented camp area.
Roads getting to venue a bit of a challenge with potholes but well worth persevering to get to the venue.
Had a nice stay and enjoyed our vacation, it was exquisite 👌
Will visit again for sure. Uncle Tom and the aunt are the best host and hostess. Thank you very much for the special stay and the effort you made for us and Chef Charles, you can be heard cooking, as well as Busi, you are a star!
I can recommend Izinkwe Lodge to everyone. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The units are very neat. Izinkwe offers a great variety to suit everyone's needs, whether you're watering a line or looking for wildlife around every corner, Izinkwe caters.
Very neat and clean. Friendly service.
Izinkwe Lodge is perfect place for a quiet family destination. The only problem is cellphone reception, especially with MTN. The tar road from the main road is full of potholes. It could've been better if it was just gravel.
We fully enjoyed it and found no faults. It was, in one word, fantastic.
Beautiful place. Will definitely go again for longer!
The scenery is beautiful and the accommodation of a high standard. The service was great and the staff went the extra mile to make it perfect for us. I would recommend a different route than what was sent to us. The better option from Johannesburg/Pretoria is definitely to Middelburg and then the N11 to Loskopdam. At the dam you turn right for 6 km on the Stoffbergpad to a T-junction. The piece is very bad. At the T-junction turn right and follow the dirt road for 9 km. Izinkwe is on the left.
An absolute treat. Wow!
Was really looking forward to a New Year and New Year of silence, after we discovered the silence of 2016 there. But unfortunately from Thursday there was only music played in one part of the resort. On the 1st we should have asked the caretakers to turn down the music they were playing merrily. We assumed there were limits on music, but apparently that doesn't apply there. Great was the disappointment that you could not appreciate the silence. But early in the morning the silence is there and you can enjoy it.
The road to Izinkwe Lodge was a bit bad, but the friendly reception and neatly equipped chalet made up for it! Feel free to do so. We will definitely want to go again. Good place for family gathering.
It was a great place. We enjoyed it a lot. Swimming pools need attention (one is too cold and the Jacuzzi is too warm). The service was excellent and the place very neat. Game was great. Will recommend.
Thank you very much, delicious. Will definitely go again.
The accommodation is neat, modern and clean. The beds were very comfortable! The room and communal kitchen had everything we could need. Beautiful swimming pool, Jacuzzi, braai area, pub and a dam where you can watch the sun set. Unfortunately communication was problematic: I had some difficulty contacting the host by phone, although after repeated attempts I did get hold of her an hour before we were due to leave. I have not received any response to the email sent requesting directions 2 days before my arrival. The lack of good communication resulted in some problems with entrance and exits and access codes. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay.
Clean environment and safe.
Enjoyed it immensely, just enough comfort if you want to enjoy a total getaway, the weekend did me a lot of good, and so did my girlfriend. We are definitely planning a weekend like this again, then we will bring the children and our friends. If you're addicted to your cell phone, bad news: no signal, if you don't want to hear your cell phone at all, it's a blessing in disguise. The ideal place for any couple who are just looking for silence and want to find each other again, the nature is beautiful and the animal life is relatively close to humans. I recommend it to any nature person who doesn't want quite the rough no amenities weekend, it's comfortable enough, and gives you the rest you need.
Izinkwe is a beautiful place, peaceful, spotlessly clean and very friendly people. We were kindly received by Johannes, who will go out of his way to make you comfortable. We stayed in the Forest Hut. Only recommendation would be to insulate the house. It's boiling hot inside. We would definitely recommend Izinkwe. Thank you very much for a peaceful 3 days deep in the forest.
My wife and I wanted to get away for a weekend away from the city noise and relax in the peaceful nature, with a few extras to make our weekend just more relaxing. So Izinke Lodge arranged a massage for my wife on Friday afternoon, as well as a bush picnic on Saturday. These extras presented by Izinkwe have been arranged with incredible effort and care. The massage was very professionally performed and the picnic was off the books. the food preparation and effort in setting up the tables, just to enjoy the experience more. The accommodation was excellent with everything needed already on site. The entire Lodge's staff are very professional and helpful in every way. I would recommend Izinkwe Lodge to anyone who really just wants to get away from the hectic city life.
If you enjoy nature and want to get away from it all, this is the place. It is peaceful with no noise. Put away your mobile phone and enjoy the silence.
Very good managers, know what is going on around them.
Hospitable, friendly, just awesome. Great stay. Stunning.
Was the best weekend ever!
Thanks so much Braam and Chine, what a wonderful treat on the weekend of our anniversary. I definitely recommend the massage. And all the food, we really enjoyed in, may you be belessed in all that you do.
We really enjoyed the weekend. Excellent service and communication. Will definitely see you guys again.
Braam and Chine received us as guests and we left as family. They give that personal touch. The accommodation and service are above expectation. I definitely recommend Izinkwe Lodge. For weddings and receptions or just a getaway weekend/holiday. You can't leave there and not be refreshed. Thank you very much LekkeSlaap/Braam and Chine. We got engaged there and can't wait to get married there. It was an excellent experience!
I was just unhappy with the fridge. It froze all our food.
It's a beautiful, neat little place and is very well maintained. The staff are also very friendly and helpful and Braam made the WiFi connection for us so that we could do things on our computer, we really had a great rest and the "game drive" that Johannes took us on was also very nice. He stopped short when we wanted to take pictures. Can recommend the place to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Great place. Awesome people.
Excellent service from arrival until departure. Very clean and good location. Place does have very good potential and we were treated like kings. Very quiet and worth every cent. The food was excellent and was nicely served. Will recommend it to anyone and will definitely see them again. Thanks Chine and Ilona for your friendliness and warm welcome.
Great place for a few day's vacation. Neat and really great area. Excellent value for money.
My dad and son were on a grandpa and grandson getaway and it was an unforgettable holiday. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to get away from the busy city.
People are very friendly at the lodge. We stayed in a luxury tent. I will recommend this place over and over. Beautiful and you are so close to nature and very save. Lots of animals to see.
Izinkwe Lodge is located in a beautiful area. The staff are hospitable and go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The only negative is that you're not able to drive on all the roads with a standard vehicle.
The Boshuis lets you return to the more important things in life where you turn off your phone and tell stories around a campfire that burns through the night and for the couples who want to fall in love, the Boshuis is the perfect intimate spot.
The road Izinkwe is very bad. Tar road follows "potholes" and the dirt road not the best. Izinkwe itself is very beautiful, many things you can do and beautiful scenes. Definitely value for money.
Enjoyed the time in the lodge and appreciated the quiet surrounds. Thank you Braam and Chine.
The stay at Iznkwe Lodge was just what the doctor asked for, tranquility, lovely quiet atmosphere with lots of nature activities. Very nice area to explore, and for a nature outdoors person it is the right place to relax with lots of birds and animals. Friendly people who make you feel at home. The room facilities very neat and clean.
From the moment we arrived at Izinkwe our hosts, Braan and Chine, treated us like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The peace and quiet of the little house was soul soothing. If you're looking for a relaxing place to reconnect with yourself and nature, I definitely recommend Izinkwe Lodge.
Staff exceptional good service. Beautiful landscape. Good food.
Real bushveld experience for those who want to experience it.
Quiet, beautiful and valuable.
It is a lovely place to just rest and just relax.
We had a great time camping at Izinkwe in their Tented Camp. Enough space, neat facilities, very good service. It was a lovely rest weekend.
The lodge is amazing, friendly staff and great place to get away.
The management was not very involved with us, what was said that we could do was not there, like for example the spa that I wanted to use would be handled by the lady who handles the reservations and in the same breath she would tending bar and cooking for us for the game drive. The Jacuzzi was dirty and smelled. We were not aware that we would not have a fridge. Every day we were brought ice but in the late afternoon it caused us to throw away some of our meat because we didn't get ice early enough. The silence and nature is great for people who just want to sit and watch birds all day, but wouldn't recommend the place for young people who want to be rambunctious, also it wasn't said that you couldn't really get there with a car don't drive
There is no hospitality and the managers of the lodge have a terribly poor attitude towards tourists.
