Enjoy the silence, comfort and fishing in the Kars River. Did miss the "sit on" canoe and would suggest they look at a new canoe since the river is difficult to navigate with the green canoe.
Peaceful and quiet and value for money.
Very friendly people. Nice clean and tidy place.
Our company had to do work in the town and I could not find a place to sleep for 4 men inside the town. Cecilia has provided them with enough sleeping space in this beautifully restored farmhouse where spring goats and a zebra graze. My husband and I drove there on Friday morning to sign off on the work and also spent the night there. The scenery, with the sheep on the hill and the goats and cattle right at your window, was so lovely. I wish it hadn't rained so much when we were there so we could have enjoyed the porch. If you are looking for a place to relax but don't want to be in town, this is the place for you. In the town itself and in the nearby town of Napier we also enjoyed delicious farm food.

Lovely, comfortable house. Well equipped. We felt very at home there. Enjoyed walking on the farm and seeing the animals and the birdlife.
We really enjoyed the silence of the farm, could also swim in the river and had a good time on the stoep!

Everything you need to have a good stay is there, nice braai place, nice stoep, goats and quaggas on the farm.
An superb experience. Restful stay with awesome views from three bedrooms. A big, spacious house with a large lounge and dining area. A big stoep are to braai and experience splendid views day and night! Will certainly return.
When and where ever us as a family travel, and I see the kids do not want to leave! Then I know its sign of a good holiday and the location is great. Jack's Place is on my kids list of places "they didn't want to leave". All in all, my family and I will be back. P.s: One minor critic, only request is to ensure the salt and pepper is topped up.

We as a family enjoyed it terribly! Will definitely stay there again! My youngest wants to buy a place and stay there! It sums it all up!
A very nice place. Will make use of it again. My only request is, if you offer and sell wood, please sell and supply fire lighters (blitz).
We really enjoyed the surroundings and the house. It was a very cold weekend but the fireplace, hot water bags and heater, as well as the sheltered braai, made it very enjoyable. The house was very clean and tidy. The picnic area at the dam with the rowing boat etc. was the highlight for the kids! We look forward to going there again.

Stunning farmhouse with lots of greenery around. Very close to town.
A wonderful well appointed house with big rooms and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Fruit and rusks available on arrival was a nice touch. Guests however need to be advised where to find the keys for Old Sam's Cottage and Jack's Place. Having stayed at both places and seen all new arrivals baffled as to where the keys can be found, bearing in mind you have no cellphone service to phone anyone. But it all adds to the adventure in the end. All in all I highly recommend it for a peaceful getaway.

Not only are the people friendly, but the place gives rest and peace to your soul.
The location is excellent, "home away from home". The scenery took my breath away, so nice to open my eyes in the morning among the wheat field. The evening and morning visit of the herd of moose had been my highlight of the day. Quiet and very safe.
Jack's Place is absolutely average. We enjoyed it terribly. Truly one of the best bookings I have ever done.
Clean, tidy, comfortable house with everything needed for self-catering accommodation. Friendly and hospitable owners. The game goats around the house and the views from the porch are a bonus.
Our large group had an unbelievable time. But there was no hot water and the house was bug infested and not cleaned properly for guests. Wonderful area for families and large groups. Terrible customer service. In future they should please sort out the hot water because it was cold outside and no one was able to enjoy a hot bath or shower.
Jack's Place is somewhat remote, but it's quiet and has a beautiful terrace with a fireplace where you can relax in the evenings.
