Jakkalswater Gasteplaas
Jakkalswater Gasteplaas
Jakkalswater Gasteplaas
-
It is nestled in the slopes of granite boulders, where quiver trees overlook the valley and Klipspringers roam. Jakkalswater is entirely off the grid and green. The incredibly pure and delicious water is obtained from a natural underground fountain. Power is supplied by solar panels and the geysers work with gas.
There are 14 Family units for guests to choose from to suit their needs. The premium Family units accommodate between 2 to 5 guests. All units are ensuite and carefully decorated with fully equipped kitchenette. The standard units, are also all equipped for all your self catering needs and can accomodate 2 to 4 guests, as they are a bit smaller. The rooms all have exceptional views both overlooking the farm and beautifully maintained kokerboom gardens.
The friendly employees are all from the local community and they thrive to serve their guests.
Jakkalswater also has a beautiful chapel, where your dream wedding can be held. It is nestled in the giant granite mountains and has a breathtaking view of the Namaqua Valley. There is a very large sheltered venue facility lapa, where the function can be held - equipped with braai facilities, bathrooms and all the essential amenities. The venue is also ideal for seminars and gatherings, where large numbers of guests can gather and are currently hosting a number of well-known organisations' annual functions.
About half of the plant species here, do not occur anywhere else in the world. When the winter rains fall, the farm and surrounding granite boulders are wrapped in a floral blanket which creates the most beautiful floral spectacle in the world. With nearly 3,000 plant species, including goat bark vygies, daisies, Gazania's, cat tails etc.
Guests can walk around the farm and enjoy the scenery. Climb the granite hills and seek out the mysterious Klipspringers and the baboons, who make the mountains their home, or walk in the dry riverbanks, looking for the speckled padloper, while the floral kingdom is admired. Jakkalswater is a destination of its own, but also offers guests an ideal overnight option en route to Namibia, the Richtersveld and the northern west coast of South Africa.

204 guests' feedbackWonderful place to stay. Beautiful surroundings.
We had an amazing stay at Jakkalswater Gasteplaas. It's the perfect distance from town. The room was really nice and very clean. Walking around the farm was so much fun and my son (4) absolutely loved it. There are wonderful staff that clean the room every day, which really made relaxing so much easier. We will definitely be back for another holiday!
The unit is wonderfully spacious for a family of 4. It is neat and clean. The children enjoyed the swimming pool and so much more, the beautiful surroundings and climbing around in the stone heads on the farm. We were kindly received and would be happy to stay there again in the future. Thank you very much!
Jakkalswater is truly a stalwart. It's the second time we've stayed there and they don't disappoint at all. Friendly, helpful people. Super clean and has everything you need for an overnight stay. Would love to stay there longer.
Reinhart received us generously and made sure every need was met. Plus, his love for the environment shines from every word! The guest farm is far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you feel you are peacefully in nature, but within reach of all services.
Welcoming host went out of his way to make the stay special. The rooms are more than comfortable, and the silence, open spaces and views are all gorgeous.
Awesome. Away from the bustle. Very pretty.
The guest house was very neat and well equipped. It was ideal accommodation for flower viewing!
It was an average stay. No TV but that was not the end of the world. Nature does it all.
Pleasant stay. If you can look past the lack of hanging and storage space, everything else is top notch. Most beautiful! location.
Great outdoor experiences. Host was very thoughtful to receive us late in the evening.
Jakkalswater is the ideal place to stay from where you can explore the area with its exceptional natural beauty and rich history.
What a nice getaway for such a few days. We were kindly received by Reinhart and he and the other staff made us feel very welcome. The family room was fully equipped and even though the farm uses solar power and gas, nothing was missing. The room was beautiful. The two donkeys, Turbo and Ounooi, were the children's highlight and they really enjoyed riding around the farm with Uncle Reinhart. Can recommend to anyone looking for rest for the soul. Thank you very much Jakkalswater and all the staff.
In flower time ideal as a base to Springbok and surrounding routes. Close to Springbok, but gives the feeling of being close to nature. Hospitable staff.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Our unit was neat and clean. The shower in the bathtub was a problem for our older generation.
Used it as a base to look at flowers - Port Nolloth/Soebatsfontein and also spent a few hours walking our 3 month Jack Russel on the farm where there are many interesting plants.
Rooms are well appointed, warm even on a very cold night.
Our unit did not have a TV (not sure if it was supposed to or not, but it doesn't matter). Slide open the curtain and you have your own panorama that changes as the day goes on. No matter which room, all have a lovely view. Did I say it was clean and the story worked some of the best on our tour. There is also no load shedding.
It is a peaceful, quiet farm environment and you can go mountain climbing for those who want to. The reception and service was very good and hospitable.
Oiwm eriur wt,dejj opij5yfe.
Beautiful location, but privacy is a challenge. Unfortunately, you can hear your neighbor's every move and word and can only rest when it's quiet with them too. The sliding bathroom door also has large openings on the side and does not give enough privacy if you are not traveling with your spouse.
Bathroom bugs not clean at all. The dish rack was not pretty. Bedding was nice and clean and slept well. Chairs inside were dirty.
First-hand experience of the beauty of the area.
Had a great time Amanda the owner was great!!
Quiet, comfortable and environment is great.
Staying at Jakkalswater was very nice. We really enjoyed the walk in the mountains. Jakkalswater is located in the perfect place. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean and we would have liked to stay longer. Amanda welcomed us with open arms. She and her staff are top notch!
Well equipped and everything you need is in the unit. We really enjoyed our stay.
Jakkalswater surprised our friends with 100% hospitality. This was our 2nd visit there. Brilliant. Our tour group singles out Jakkalswater in Namaqualand as the best. They recommend that this will be a permanent sleepover.
The property is located on a farm near Springbok, next to the tarmac. The reception by the owner personally was friendly and helpful. Our walk through the field was rewarded with beautiful flowers and a view from the granite head. Will definitely visit again.
Very serene and tranquil.
I will say that the place is nicely decorated. Very nice for a quiet getaway. Ideal for a couple and/or family. Has all the accessories to make the weekend or getaway a success.
Amanda was very helpful. Location is beautiful. Rooms were big, clean and tidy.
Very comfortably located in nice koppie surroundings. Flowers were beautiful.
Friendly, helpful hostess. Spacious accommodation.
Amanda was a good hostess and made sure we were comfortable.
Perfect location for flower viewing.
Just a little on each other for solo travelers. Not far enough from your neighbor's conversations.
Not a bad choice but had a few bugs in our unit as well as no hot water for showering.
Bedding is wrinkled. Shower is messy dirty. Walls are full of dirty marks.
Natural beauty is special. Well equipped. Peaceful and beautiful.
Will stay there again.
What a friendly hostess. Very neat and the scenery is out of the books. Real value for money. Will definitely stay there again.
We will definitely return. Everything you need, convenient for exploring the area and affordable.
The experience was so special and comfortable with excellent service.
The views are amazing, rooms are well equipped and owner was very welcoming and friendly.
Comfortable unit, hostess very helpful and friendly, makes you feel at home.
Was good. Host very friendly and helpful.
Easy to reach and everything needed.
Very calm. All that bothered us is that you don't have privacy when you sit on your porch. There is no separation between the residences. Very spacious and neat.
The chalets are farm style cozy, it feels like visiting family on a farm. Loved my stay, hope to be back soon. Amazing host Amanda does everything in her power to make sure your stay blissful.
Comfortable neat and affordable but comfortable place to stay, everything needed is available. Unspoilt natural beauty, with very neat gardens and swimming pool.
Terribly beautiful place, would stay there again.
It was a pleasant stay.
The accommodation was more luxurious than expected, definitely value for money whether for one night or longer.
The owner is so friendly, you feel like you are family. The place is beautiful, especially the succulent garden and the quince trees. Will definitely want to visit again.
We were received very kindly, the places are well equipped. We had a great time among the mountains with the most beautiful sunrise and sunset scenes, not to mention the flowers. The tranquility was just what we needed, really appreciated it. Will definitely stay there again.
Large self catering room with braai facilities on the verandah.
On the positive: Jakkalswater Guesthouse is a very neat and well kept guesthouse. The owner is super helpful and goes out of her way to assist you. The setting is lovely. On the negative: All 4 of us were attacked by mosquitos during the night (April) as there is no air conditioners in the room so we had left our windows open. Also one request to the owner - the units are very close to each other so privacy is an issue which means when you braai you braai right next to your neighbour (there are no divisions). In our instance there were lots of empty units that night - so my request would be to spread the guests further apart so guests have some privacy.
It's a beautiful farm. Picture beautiful to walk in nature.
The only additional request would be for a dinning table in the unit.
Very close to Nababeep, Okiep, Steinkopf and Springbok. Near the infamous flowers.
The management is busy upgrading, renovating, building and repairing the buildings. Once all the rooms and bathrooms are renovated, it will truly be a showplace. The location is excellent for flower watchers. The managers, Amanda, are hospitable, friendly and will do her best to meet your needs.
Quiet convenient and comfortable.
Definitely worth going to appreciate the tranquility and beautiful view.
Despite the freezing weather, we slept wonderfully warm and comfortably. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
Not really meeting our travel needs.
Beautiful hiking trails. Very nice rock formations and even saw some pretty wildflowers. Would definitely recommend it.
We will never forget the enormous granite boulders situated on the farm one and on the slopes of the "koppie" and the landscape views.
Clean, big and tidy, well equipped and will visit again as an overnight stay.
Will recommend. Beautiful flowers.
I was firstly impressed with the excellent and friendly service. The entire guest farm is solar powered and uses gas geysers. Beautiful nature views, and yet 5 minutes' drive from Springbok if you need anything. Value for money.
Amanda received us. Very friendly and helpful. Beautiful place on the mountain. Very special. Will definitely stay there again.
The environment is special and we enjoyed every moment. Nice place to walk on the farm if you want to get some exercise!
Mattresses and linen are old. Upgrade required.
Good location and equipped with what is needed. Will stay there again in the future.
Please get TV and the rule about friends need to change.
The resort is under construction, so was a little dusty and the bathroom needed some tlc, but other than that it was beautiful!
Had a lovely stay at Jakkalswater Guest Farm. Also really enjoyed the silence
An incredible position set against slabs of sandstone. Close enough to Springbok for supplies but a beautiful rustic country retreat. Highly recommend the location. Very helpful and friendly.
Will be excellent overnight facility once development is complete
Helpful hostess, pleasant and spacious rooms with kitchen and bathroom facilities. Quiet environment.
Good place to sleep and very nice and tidy. Really enjoyed it and everything needed was there.
Very friendly staff with aunt Amanda.
For relaxation this is the place. All amenities are there. Beautiful mountain view.
Would have liked a nice farm breakfast.
Nice place with its own hiking trail. Apartment nice and big, but could do with more kitchen equipment (eg toaster, microwave oven). There is definitely a lack of storage space in the bathroom (eg place to put your clothes when showering).
Appreciated visiting and chatting with owner. Amanda was very helpful.
Well located, to be recommended.
Enjoyable stay all along.
Beautiful location, friendly staff, clean, tidy, a must stop for every traveller.
Beautiful farm and place to stay. There is no TV or microwave, but there are braai facilities on a lovely stoep.
Room needs some attention with faucets in the kitchen and bathroom that were loose.
Beautiful place to get away from it all.
We were made to feel very welcome, the room was very comfortable and it was a beautiful view.
Very beautiful, beautiful world.
Nice big rooms and areas where we could braai together. There is not a stable enough electricity supply for microwaves or electric kettles. This may be a problem for people who don't want to braai in the evening - and restaurants are not situated close by. I gather that meals may be supplied once the COVID-19 restrictions are over, however.
Beautiful view and surroundings.
Beautiful setting. The accommodation on the first night was not up to self catering standards. Crockery and cutlery extremely basic. Only a plastic basin to wash crockery and cutlery in, then dirty water had to be thrown away in shower or toilet or hand basin in bathroom. Our room was changed for our last night and this was an upgraded room which was great. All crockery and cutlery much better as well as a kitchenette area that was up to standard.
Against the road with no fence or gates that can lock. Power tripped all afternoon, throughout the evening and throughout the morning. Couldn't even boil kettle for coffee. Whole farm very dirty.
It was very nice! Despite the heat, the room was so nice and cool. Aunt Amanda was very pleasant, friendly and helpful! We will definitely book there again if we are in that area.
Cozy, quiet and clean place.
Saw the sunset and it was so quiet that I could hear the field.
The place is beautiful and cosy, especially with the braai place. We had a lovely braai and enjoyed it a lot.
Jakkalswater had everything we needed. Rooms were well cool and pleasant. Staff looked after us well.
We are so happy we stumbled upon this beautiful place while looking for a over-nighter. The area is beautiful with huge rocks and succulents. The accommodation is clean and functional. We were warm and cozy on a very cold night.
Place was clean, everything needed was there, everything needed to work, worked.
What a wonderful stay in a convenient and beautiful location nestled on a stone koppie, with natural gardens that blend in with the surrounds. The room was ample and comfortable with a well appointed patio and braai area and our host Amanda was most accommodating. What a delight to find an eco-friendly and off-the-grid facility of this calibre.
No place to hang clothes or shelves, no bedside tables, gas geyser uneffective, limited kitchen facilities.
We were received very kindly. We were booked into a log cabin, but it was raining when we arrived and it was very cold. The receptionist moved us on her own initiative and at no extra cost to a unit with power and a canopy so we could still barbecue as we had planned. We really appreciated it.
We were pleasantly surprised by the place. Can't see better stars. Amanda was very helpful and friendly.
Shortage: fridge, braai area, mirror, outside table. But it was very nice.
The tranquility in the late afternoon at the foot of the rocky mountain after the day on the road was outstanding for us.
The location of the guest farm is fantastic and breathtaking. The accommodation needs attention. Although still in the process of building and improving, the room needs a lot of upgrading. It was very hot and had to sleep with the windows open, but the mosquitoes then really swarmed us. Power only comes from solar panels so I believe air conditioning is out of the question. Fans are a necessity and screens in front of windows are essential. Kitchen facilities could be laid out better, not practical to get all cutlery out from under the sink on your knees. Lightly very faint, feel free to add bedside tables and lights to beds.
We are disappointed and were under the wrong impression about Jakkalswater's facilities and regret spending 4 nights there. Jakkalswater's advertisement shows a dining table with enough chairs, armchairs, microwave oven, and a headboard above the double bed in the unit. There were none of these amenities present in our unit; yes easy chair for 2 people. The unit is cold and impersonal and you only realize on arrival there is no privacy or partition and the shower/toilet has no door - only a curtain in front! The kitchen cupboard doors are hanging loose from the hinges and need attention, and there is no shelf in the cupboard - cutlery is at floor level! There is no available storage space for groceries. We had to request a light bulb for the bedside lamp, extra blankets and toilet paper. We feel that if 6-8 people spend the night here, Jakkalswater is equivalent to backpackers standards.
Beautiful environment. Sleeping facilities clean and adequate. Kitchen tap completely loose. Shower water works with gas and is difficult to control - whether too hot or too cold at times.
Beautiful location close to nature.
The room is spacious and can accommodate 4 people. Very well equipped.
Everything was neat. The only negative point is that the cutlery and crockery are not really up to standard. Furthermore, everything was very nice for us.
Beautiful location with great potential. The place is very run down and needs a lot of attention and upgrading. Will be a beautiful place if it is in place.
I loved the place and it was as advertised, so to all the posts I read before booking, read properly. You know what you are getting and in my opinion they deliver accordingly!
Everything was very neat and clean. Maybe just make sure everything works before you check in, for example a bathroom light and bed lamp didn't work. Friendly reception. Delicious breakfast!
What a pleasant experience to go home here again. Stayed in the rooms for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised with the place. We were a group that slept there together one night. Thank you very much for all the effort that was made to enable us to braai as a group that evening with white tablecloth and all. I would recommend any person to spend the night there with the greatest of confidence.
Very pleasant place and quiet. Everything that is needed. Amanda's reception was very warm and made the stay as pleasant as possible for us. Would recommend the place. Thank you Amanda.
Very nice surroundings, friendly farm and lovely overnight stay or stay for a few days while on tour.
This is a place where one can truly breathe silence and fresh air. The rugged nature with its rocky outcrops and rich plant life makes it the ideal place to spend a day or two. Amanda is a real hostess and the unit is tidy with everything needed for a self-catering unit.
We had a nice stay and the beds were very comfortable and clean, but felt that the cutlery was very sparse. There was e.g. not a sharp knife for vegetables. Chairs are also uncomfortable.
The setting was lovely - private and quiet. The room was very spacious and the beds comfortable. However, the bathrooms need a revamp: loo did not flush properly and hot water ran out.
The personal service received at this guest farm made my short stay a real pleasure.
We enjoyed the two nights there. The location was ideal for the places we came to visit.
The area, service, and accommdation was just perfect.
Amanda has been very helpful and kind.
Pleasantly surprised by the accommodation in stunning nature. Very good service. Delicious breakfast. Clean, tidy rooms. Thanks for the warm reception.
After a long journey, it was worth it to sleep over at such a nice, clean, safe guest house. The location is perfect the people are nice, rooms spacious and just enough for what you need. Lovely place with beautiful setting. Would recommend to anyone.
I would definitely recommend staying there. It's as if the atmosphere brings you so much closer to nature and you can admire God's creation.
A beautiful and peaceful place. Will go again but for longer.
Very peaceful and very beautiful surroundings.
Very neat! Will stay there again!
Accommodation needs interior decoration. Bathroom has no place for toilet bag to put down for shower. Accommodation was good with the tranquility that a traveler needs.
Mosquitoes were a big problem and there were no air conditioners. We had to go and buy fans ourselves and then the power kept tripping. Only the last night of the 3 nights we could sleep well.
Accommodation was expensive if you compare it to similar overnight facilities. Furniture was very basic and the sleeper couch, the garments on the table, etc. weren't clean. With only a curtain that separates the bathroom with the rest of the room, it was very uncomfortable with very little privacy. The accommodation felt incomplete in regard to the painting and interior design.
Very hospitable and friendly people.
Room smelled strange. Cutlery and crockery not very clean. No water in the morning when we woke up. Electricity went off during the night when you start the microwave.
I can only say that the place is a gem. If you want to relax and you have never been to the Western Cape, go to this place. The fact that you don't even miss a TV or cell phone reception is a big plus. The lady who received us even opened the windows of the place to cool it down. The surroundings are beautiful, even though there are almost no trees. There is something special about the place. The only thing I would like to ask LekkeSlaap is to revise the directions to the place a bit. What you posted to us was very unclear and made us drive 1 hour longer because the directions we received in the e-mail were not correct at all. Luckily we still had cell phone reception at the time and were able to find the right way for their Facebook page.
Mense was baie vriendelik en dit is so mooi daar.
Clean rooms and friendly hostesses. We will use you again in the future.
Very friendly reception. Rooms and facilities in excellent condition. Delicious breakfast! Will always stay there from now on.
Beautiful surroundings, comfortable rooms, excellent accommodation and we were received hospitably. Unfortunately, the meals did not materialize, and we had to drive back to Springbok to buy something for dinner. The owner is busy upgrading and we believe everything will be back to normal soon.
Overall a very nice venue, the only drawback is that they have limited electricity, so heating is sparse when it's cold.
Jakkalswater is a quiet and clean place to stay over after a long drive. The service is excellent and the rooms is functional and clean. Hot water for the shower was a pleasant experience. Two things that was concerning was that the windows are not burglar proof and you have to open the windows at night for there are no fans. Although it appears to be quite safe there for the times we are living in we also are concerned with safety! All and all I will definitely visit again and recommend Jakkalswater to friends and family!
Nice, tidy place with friendly reception. Considering the price, there should at least be milk in the fridge for coffee, not just creamer, as well as breakfast for a light breakfast.
Jakkalswater Gasteplaas has created a nice getaway holiday for us. The service was very good and the location excellent. I would truly recommend this guest farm to anyone looking to get away from the city and find themselves again. It was very nice and is centrally located to see the whole of the Northern Cape.
Replace the curtain between bedroom and bathroom with a door. One needs privacy when using the toilet. Second: Bedside lamps are a necessity. Otherwise we were satisfied.
Rooms are spacious and tidy, but the limited electricity and gas water heaters can create problems for city dwellers.
Very friendly reception. The staff is very friendly. Meals were very pleasant. The location is excellent and very peaceful. Would recommend anyone to feel free to stay at Jakkalswater.
Amanda was fantastic. We toured a little over 4600 km in December 2015 with our BMW 1600GTL and unfortunately could not load another piece on the motorcycle. Amanda offered to get us some things to grill. We ate like kings. Amanda's presence and help was excellent. She really goes the extra mile. Thank you Amanda for making our stay so comfortable. Your place is very special. See you again in the flowering season.
Very friendly, hospitable and helpful. The rooms are nice and big and well furnished. The place still needs work, but will be fine when everything is done.
The guest farm is beautifully situated with the mountain as a background. Self-catering unit very nice, but sleeping space for 6 is misleading, there is one double bed and two single beds. We still had to pay extra accommodation as the unit is intended more for a family. No hair dryer may be used, the shower does not have a curtain and there is no heating for the cold winter. Despite this, the stay was pleasant and the staff friendly.
The rooms are very basic, but large and comfortable. It would be even better if the bathroom could have a door instead of just a curtain. The unfinished rooms detract from the general cleanliness of the place. The view of the mountains is breathtaking.
Bedding was not clean, had to move from one room to another because fridge didn't work.
The accommodation was reasonable, but the general impression of the farm and especially the camping area and grounds around the chalets is that it is run down and unkempt. Some of the rooms had unmade beds, and this did not create a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. There was no hand soap or guest soaps in the bathroom. The farm is beautiful and well located and we would like to see more of the farm. Little information about the environment is available.
Pleasant accommodation with necessary amenities provided, although limited, such as bathroom and dishes. There were troublesome problems with the new management.
Unfortunately, there are still many things that need to be improved before it can be really enjoyable. The environment and location is very good. The garden and the surroundings are nice, but there is a lot of improvement needed in the cleaning of rooms. The place still needs a lot of finishing touches, what makes a place to stay really nice is sometimes in the details.
Doors of the units could not be locked. Gas geyser in one unit was not working properly. There was not a mirror in any of the units. There were two single beds in the units, but only double bed sheets and blankets were provided.
We will tell anyone traveling in that direction about the great place to go.
Everything was very nice and clean and tidy. The farm and flowers were incredibly beautiful. We were pleasantly spoiled with fresh grilled cake too!
I plan to spend a long weekend at the resort in the future. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bed is super comfortable The staff are very friendly and helpful. The area needs time to be properly explored. A great resort to relax at.
Can really recommend, service was very good.
Great location and environment, good service.
For the traveler to Cape Town or Namibia or during flower time! This is the place to stay. The resort is still under construction. Would have liked just a fan in our room as it was hot at night.
The management is very friendly and helpful. It will be beautiful and practical accommodation once the finishing touches are completed.
They use solar power. That's probably why there were no fans or air conditioning. The first 3 days were uncomfortably hot. The other night's stay was in another room that was slightly cooler. I didn't feel comfortable and I don't leave a window open without a burglar alarm, we come from Gauteng. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable. Corine is very friendly and helpful.
The perfect overnight and visit place outside Springbok, about 2 km from Nababeep. When it's blooming time, you'll wake up to a beautiful view here. We look forward to going back and hiking and hiking, and swimming in the pond. A hospitable lot of people indeed!
Enjoyed the silence. Just sorry for a little unsolicited noise every now and then.
Spacious rooms, but the kitchen area could improve.
I would recommend Jackalswater, but don't go in winter, it gets very cold. Would recommend they set up a games room. During the day you can explore the beautiful nature, but at night it can get a bit boring.
We only recommend softer pillows and hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes. The power was a bit of an issue, but we understand it is being worked on. Perhaps there is also something missing in the room to put one's suitcases on. Still, it was nice to be able to sit outside in the fresh air. The breakfast was pleasant and the service friendly. Thank you!
Room neat and clean, slept well!
Our reservation apparently caught the guest farm off guard because it felt as if we had arrived there completely unexpectedly. The reception room also serves as the receptionist's residence.
It was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. The nature and place are fantastic!
See the stars below.
We would also stay there again anytime.
It was truly an experience, I have not experienced such genuine hospitality for a long time. The setting was stunning with beautiful, well-kept rooms, and the welcome was so genuine, I will definitely go there again. Will definitely recommend to all my friends and family.
It was all very pleasant, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a winner. Beautiful surroundings and a very friendly owner.
They are willing to go the extra mile for guests.
We will stay again anytime if we come this way again. It was pleasant and we will encourage our friends to do the same.
We can really recommend it. The environment, place to stay, service and people (Liana & Alwyn) are fantastic.
We were on our way to Augrabies from Melkbos and what a pleasant stay we had. The mountains and the true value of nature was felt.
Very friendly service and beautiful place. Bonus points for using solar power!
Very beautiful and close to nature!
Please pay attention to no hanging space, no towel rails, no soap (but at least great towels!), no top sheets, no winter sheets, no electric under sheets, no drying rack, no pan and little work surface.
I would have liked to have air conditioners in the rooms.
Very hospitable and the staff is friendly!
There is potential for improvement.
The room is large and spacious. The people are nice and friendly. The nature was very beautiful, and the children enjoyed the rock climbing.
The setting is very nice and quiet. We had a nice stay. Had a bit of disappointment regarding supper and breakfast but they managed to sort us out.
A beautiful place with a lot of potential. It needs a firm hand and a lot of capital to complete.
The location is fantastic. It's a beautiful environment. The staff are friendly and helpful. When fully developed, it will be a five-star destination!
The campsite appears dilapidated. Chalets/rooms have all the basic necessities with very nice antique furniture and artwork. Lots of potential but needs attention.
In my opinion, Jakkalswater is not yet equipped to receive guests in all weather conditions. The weather was cold and wet when we were there and yet they removed the heater from our unit and offered us nothing else to heat the unit. Pools of water stood around the unit making movement to and from vehicle difficult.
