The camping site is located on the Kokerskolk farm under beautiful big thorn trees next to lucerne fields looking out on the Boesak River. We have 3 private stands with a braai area and a big lapa area. The stands have their own electricity point and water as well as a rustic open shower and toilets. If you would rather not use the open facilities, there is an ablution building 150m away from the camping site. There is also a lovely swimming dam where you can cool off in on a hot summer's day. The area offers lots of space for long romantic walks or mountain bike rides. The gravelroads suits offroad caravans the best.
We also offer guided mid morning drives to Koisan paintings. If you are tired after a long day of sightseeing, you can sit down with something to drink while the more energetic can keep on looking for more undiscovered sketches. There is also a late afternoon drive on offer, returning under the Karoo stars.
We are situated on a working farm so there are lots of activities for old and young to keep busy. If you want to join the farmer in the everyday work it will be a pleasure to share his everyday joy. Early morning and in the evening goats are used to feed orphan lambs. The horse must be fed and everything else must be put to bed, normally this is a highlight in our visitor's day. Horses are used to do the everyday work and a ride with a horse cart can become a lifelong memory.

26 guests' feedbackThe peaceful unspoilt farm life was wonderful for us. We had a great time. Lovely warm shower in a unique shower under a tree!
Martin and Marina are particularly hospitable, their campsite under the shade trees is a pleasure.
Diections received on WhatsApp were accurate and we were met by the daughter who explained everything to us. Everything was clean and we even got a bag of firewood for our evening braai. Beautiful location and as evening fell, a night sky appeared free of noise and pollution. Great location and very simple but practical.
Beautiful stopover on route to CT.
Awesome. Very rustic facilities. Enjoyed it immensely.
It's a nice place for rough campers, but not for a 70-something couple. The road is for vans and off-roaders, not for caravans and SUVs. The facilities also for young people. The price for what you get is not acceptable at all. I came from Gariep for R215 per night with 5-star facilities and then 15 km of bakkie farm road with rough facilities for more than double the price. Not at all satisfied with the information given. Sorry but the information is incomplete.
We enjoyed our brief stay at the campsite. The location is beautiful, and it was great to have the dam to welcome us to cool off in.
It's probably recommended that you do not arrive in the dark or if you are in a rush as there are 7 gates to open to get to the farm.
After being subject to a battering by the wind the night before at Kamieskroon we were not prepared to endure camping in the wind again. Our hosts kindly arranged for us to upgrade to stay in the Wagon Shed which made our stay most enjoyable. The Wagon Shed is well configured and has everything that you could need. We were disappointed not to be able to stay longer to experience more of the farm. We would also liked to have camped as the camping sites looked great.
We had the privilege to be the only guests at the camping site for one night. It was a proper farm experience, off the main roads and being able to see stars.
Hosts were most welcoming and provided excellent information on farming in the Karoo.
Didn't really stop there, just drove through.
This is a working farm. Shower under the stars. Purchase delicious Karoo lamb and lamb with springbok boerewors at bargain prices. You may even see kudu or porcupine visiting the campsite.
We had a great overnight stay on this working farm. There was a farm dam to swim in, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Very cute place and we had a great stay.
Peace and food for your soul!
Off the beaten track and very peaceful. Hospitable hosts. Enjoyed our stay.
Joosteswerwe was an incredibly wonderful experience. Our children came to our campsite to milk the goats and feed the lambs. The wind was blowing strongly on arrival. Apparently it is necessary for the windmills to fill the dams. At least it went down later. We had a great time swimming in the farm pond. The hostess has basic necessities such as milk, soft drinks and frozen lamb chops for sale. For us from Limpopo, this Karoo experience was very interesting, special and one of the highlights of the holiday even though we only stayed one night.
The campsite is close to nature, but still comfortable with power points and very tidy. We would love to go back to Joosteswerwe again.
Very pleasant. Would definitely recommend it.
Even though we only camped one night at Joosteswerwe, it was wonderful. We just wish we could have stayed longer! Breathtakingly beautiful, so peaceful and secluded from reality. Fantastic bird watching too. Only issue: quite expensive for camping. We would love to visit again. Highly recommended.
Martin and Marje go the extra mile to make it a pleasant experience. Will definitely want to stay there again.
What wonderful people to meet! Don't forget to ask for lamb! And also enquire about the Oom Plaas spices they make there.
It is a beautiful farm. To stay just the one night was a pity - you don't have enough time to explore the farm and part take in the excursions. Good wood provided. Don't take your own braai meat, buy the best Karoo lamb on the farm along with natural salt blends. Try the cold, unique shower at the camping terrain or walk a short distance for the neat, spacious ablution facilities with hot showers. Would have been perfect if there were hot showers and warm water for dishes at the campsite. In winter it is just to cold, but I suppose you could drive there.
Wonderful hosts. Brand new camping facilities. The rustic bathroom in the photo is idyllic. Too bad the toilet wasn't built yet and we had to walk a long way to the old bathrooms. The owners and their children received us like family. My children were treated to farm life and gave the hanslammers teat bottles, swam in the farm pond. We drove around at night and looked out for foxes. So much done in just one day. Thank you very much!
