We had a lovely time. It can be quite hot on the upper level. Be aware if you are going to use the third and fourth bedrooms. If you're coming with dogs, rest assured, big or small, they will not escape this very well-secured perimeter. And the garden, wow. You can easily get takeaways the whole weekend and just explore the garden. Lovely braai area too. The veranda is also amazing for reading. Everything about our stay was lovely, and we also appreciated the free bottle of wine. You will see us again soon.
Plenty of space and beautifully appointed. We only stayed for a weekend, but wished it was for much longer. The weather was sunny, the lodge was sprawling and had everything we needed, including a great braai area. Only complaint from the kids was that there was no swimming pool, but that didn't really detract from a wonderful getaway in Clarens.
The furnishing was attractive, beds comfortable, electric blankets, 2 fridges. well-equipped, (gas heaters, gas stove plates, some lights to cope with load shedding). Loads of hot water. Everything worked. Perfect holiday home. Close to walks, town and restaurants, and our host, Fran, was friendly and efficient. A perfect holiday home.
Thank you very much. We had a wonderful time and the beautiful large garden was truly a pleasure court. The dog children really enjoyed the space. We will certainly use the accommodation again in the future.
It is a lovely property, well situated. Our highlights were the garden and the verandah. The upstairs bathroom needs some serious TLC. It didn't affect how the bathroom worked. An older bathroom suite appears to have been refitted into a space too small for it, and this made it a bit awkward to use. I would, though, stay there again. Easy access to town, to the Clarens conservancy, and out of the way of the noisier spots.
Our second visit and once again really enjoyed it. We took friends with us that time and everyone enjoyed it. The house and premises lend themselves to the fact that you can also enjoy your privacy when you so choose.

The 2nd downstairs bedroom is outside the house, which looked like it was inside the house according to the website. The shared upstairs bathroom is a bath with a shower in it, the bathroom needs some renovation, maybe just a nice shower. Other than that, everything was delicious. The views are beautiful and the house and porch are wonderfully sunny!

Peaceful stay in a huge, stunning garden.
The lodge is fantastic - loads of space, rooms, gardens etc. Perfectly located for a pleasant walk to the square for eating out/shopping etc. Also central for some very easy to get to walks along the spruit and environs. Safe and secure - and as an added bonus - pet friendly. We're a big family with 4 teenagers and 2 small dogs so the space and the WiFi was greatly appreciated.
Kahara Maluti Lodge is a well-sized family home that caters to every kind of hangout and meal - from boardgames to TV to braais and social picnics. We loved the wrap-around patio, the beautiful, well-maintained garden and the prefect proximity to town: a slow 10-minute walk when needed, and far-enough removed to avoid the New Year's karaoke. Clarens is a favourite, and this is the ideal base to explore it from, along with the neighbouring Golden Gate National Park and Fouriesburg.
House is centrally located and the garden is breathtaking. Our dogs enjoyed the big yard so much. House is very comfortable and well equipped. The view to the mountain is picture-perfect. Had a great time by the fireplace every evening. Will go again for sure.
Clarens gets cold at night during the winter season, so electric under blankets would be great addition. There is only 1 heater for the entire downstairs area. The TV should have been equipped with a DStv decoder.

Our family had a great time; the house is a dream - with another separate apartment for rent! The location is fantastic; the mountain the trees, close to the city centre, but still quiet enough to be able to hear all the birds. The icing on the cake is undeniably the fantastic paradise of a garden! Highly recommended!
