Kambro Cottage was our last stop at the end of a 10-day road trip. Do you know the expression "save the best for last"? Well, that's exactly what happened here. We were blown away! Over above all the usual winners - fluffy towels, gorgeous sheets, aircon, smart TV, coffee and rusks and a gorgeous environment, Kambro Cottages delights even further with all the extras they offer! The toiletries which I am accustomed to being provided with are soap, hair and body wash and hand lotion. At Kambro Cottages you will also be provided with earbuds, cotton wool balls, a nail brush, a shower cap, plasters and I'm sure I've forgotten something. In the kitchen you will find the usual coffee and tea but also the most delicious homemade rusks and toothpicks! Open the fridge and it is full of all sorts of what turned out to be absolutely necessary goodies- all run on the honesty principle at very reasonable prices. When our hosts realised we were going to view the Valley of Desolation, in two ticks we were presented with a flask of hot coffee and rusks and given directions to one of the more spectacular viewpoints. Dinner reservations were made for us and there was even an umbrella - just in case. And I'm sure I've left things out. The level of care and attention to detail far exceeds anything I have experienced before. We'll definitely be back - just to experience Kambro Cottages' amazing hospitality again.

Slept very well. However, parking behind the security gate is a problem because 2 vehicles can hardly fit. Space is very tight to get out, carry out bags, etc.

We were kindly welcomed by the owner upon arrival. We asked if we please (if possible) can check in earlier and the owner kindly helped us with this. Our room was beautiful, neat and clean. We will definitely be checking into Kambro Cottage again soon. We were 100% happy with the good and friendly service.
The reception by Greg, the neat and clean accommodation, the breakfast etc. was top notch. It's a pity that you have a maximum of 5 stars - we would like to give more. The Wi-Fi was very slow and the signal no wonder. At least we managed.

Wonderful hospitality by the owner, safe and secure accommodation. This has to be the most well equipped self catering accommodation ever. The attention to detail for visitor requirements is exceptional. Very affordable and reasonable rates. Definitely value for money. Centrally located in Graaff-Reinet, but away from the main traffic, yet walking distance to restaurants, etc. Definitely highly recommended and our first choice in accommodation when visiting the area. There is secure off-street parking too, which is a must for security.

Very spacious and tidy. There is everything you need even if you arrive late at night. Safe parking for two large vehicles side by side is very limited.
Old and historical building. The WiFi is very erratic. Only free channels are available on DStv (we wanted to watch rugby, but then we found that the channel was unavailable), this is not mentioned anywhere.
Very friendly owner who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. His suggestion to dine in Willowmore Sophie's Choice was a winner.

Greg went the extra mile from picking up our Stoep Tasting tickets from the Tourism Office and putting it in our rooms before we arrived, booking a restaurant for us for dinner, packing the braai and setting the outside table tastefully (jammer lappie and all) so that we could simply strike a match and relax, serving a five star breakfast in our room... nothing was too much trouble. He is a host second to none.

Although it was probably one of the oldest sleeping places we had ever slept in, our experience was very pleasant. Imagine, we slept in a room with yellow wood floors and a very high ceiling! The unit was spacious, neat and clean and also had the necessary modern facilities in the kitchen and bathroom. We would love to stay there again in the future.

It was Christmas Eve and all was dead quiet in Cradock. Greg received us very kindly. The Cradock unit was tidy and well equipped. I also appreciated the large fridge/freezer. The history scrapbook was interesting reading material to get to know the surroundings better. I wholeheartedly recommend Kambro Cottage. Suggestion: A type of handle in the shower (for older persons) would be a great improvement.

The sleepover was above expectations. The Kambro Cottages are very safe and the house is as I dreamed of as a townhouse in the Karoo, old-fashioned chic. Small things like the cold wine and water with extras in the fridge. Everything is clean and looks like a townhouse in the countryside.

Accommodation and facilities 5 star, parking very big problem and will not be able to book there again as a result. We drive 4 wheeler plus the guests too and we had to drive forward, back then back to get out, very inconvenient with 2 large vehicles.

Kambro Cottage is centrally located in Graaff-Reinet, just a few blocks from the hubbub of town. We were not even aware of the traffic. Greg, the owner, had absolutely no hassle to provide even the smallest necessities and special treats to make our stay very special. The room is very spacious with a separate kitchen and bathroom. A good double bed with nice pillows is provided. Every corner as its own interesting discovery and there is plenty of space. Greg is a big cat lover, yet he makes sure that his cats do not bother guests. It may happen that guests who are also cat lovers let the cats in. People with allergies should just be made aware of this. Other than that, we would recommend Kambro Cottage. We don't easily give a 5.

Arranged in advance with the owner, Greg to get us barbecue suits as we were traveling on Harleys and therefore had limited luggage space. He put in so much more effort than we could ever ask for. We were warmly welcomed and given great recommendations of restaurants. The room is spacious and beautifully furnished with a cot for our baby and cute toys. Wish we could stay longer. Breakfast is not included, but I would definitely recommend it!

Greg bent over backwards to make us feel welcome! The open-plan room is beautiful, with high ceilings, plank floors, and all facilities, such as TV, WiFi, air conditioner, lovely comfortable sofa, breakfast table, compact kitchenette. The bathroom is like in the old days, but with a comfortable shower, towel rails, washbasin with modern sink and taps. We slept soundly and left refreshed the next morning, after a friendly chat and farewell to Greg.

Greg is very hospitable and concentrates on the little things that matter and leave the place standing out above the rest.
The cottages are very neat, clean and tastefully furnished. The owner, Greg Kappers, went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible and was very helpful with information on Graaff Reinet such as things to do and where to eat. The evening that we decided to braai Greg laid a table outside at the braai and even stacked the fire ready for us to light when we returned from sight-seeing.
The owner is very friendly, the place is very nice and tidy inside and provision has been made for everything you need, such as even fresh milk for your coffee or tea. If you want to barbecue, he even sets a table for you outside. The cottage is also serviced and cleaned every day.
We had a lovely stay in Kambro Cottage! Greg was an excellent host, with great advice for any tourism enquiries. Will stay there again!

Greg Kappers met us with sincere warmth. Unit spacious, spotless and tastefully furnished. Greg personally takes care of the units. Honesty bar in the fridge with large assortment of drinks. Just tell Greg what you had and pay at the end of visit. Only suggestion would be to add backout curtains to block out the traffic noise. Unfortunately the general speed limit is not adhered to by the public which causes quite a racket. Apart from that we really enjoyed the stay. Thank you Greg, would love to visit again!
Greg is helpful, professional, friendly and competent. E.g. he recommended an excellent restaurant beforehand and the reservation (and change in reservation) was patiently dealt with. The guesthouse is a national monument, yet it was all of the mod cons you'd need like an AC.

Kambro Cottage is centrally located and walking distance from central Graaff-Reinet. Room is spacious and beautifully adorned with unique Karoo decor and photos. Friendly and welcoming host. Definitely my first choice for accommodation in Graaff-Reinet.
We went to Obesa succulent nursery to buy some cactuses and to watch the sunset from the Valley of Desolation and to take photos. We had a nice braai and they made up a table under the stars. 5-star accommodation!
