This must be the best farm stay in the Karoo! It offers an authentic experience of a Karoo sheep farm. There are beautiful views and hikes on the farm. We enjoyed the peace and meeting the horses and donkeys. The hosts are thoughtful and generous, and went out of their way to make us happy.
Had a wonderful sleep, the unit is very well equipped, good quality beds/mattresses, the kitchen is well equipped. The silence and the view from the unit are fantastic. Thanks also to the hostess for the delicious muffins and biscuits.

Such a warm welcome with fresh muffins and everything we needed. It was quite cold while we were there, but there was a gas heater for us to use. The unit is off-grid with solar power too, which makes it so much easier to just sit back and relax. The views are amazing, and you have plenty of privacy. The unit is beautifully decorated and very inviting and homely. It’s also very clean! I definitely recommend it.

Arrived in the rain, easily unpacked, fried, had gas plates along with the Eskom crisis! Everything was in place, clean and tidy!
We live in Switzerland and have been coming to South Africa regularly for many years. In search of other interesting places, we found this newly opened pearl via the website. We stayed here for 2 nights. The huge farm is only 5 km away from the main road. Ina offered us a big farm tour and gave us the information and answered the questions. It was exactly what we were looking for. We will be back.

It's all in the detail! You arrive with a warm welcome, and freshly baked muffins awaiting when you enter your place, such attention to detail which I haven't seen at other properties. There's also a guest book to leave a message on, which really personalises your stay. The lambs are super cute, first not sure what you are doing there but then when one comes to you the rest flock towards you, they were just adorable.

Very nice stay. There was everything we could need.
Even if it was only for one night, it was wonderful to experience the silence and nature. We were very lucky that the other unit was not occupied. The view is beautiful and we were lucky to have a cloudless night to see the stars clearly. The interior decoration is beautiful, everything was clean and tidy and the nice patio and braai facilities are excellent. We went for a run in the morning and there are many hills to climb when you have more time. Sharing it with a special person is first prize. I will for sure stay at Kareelaagte again when there is an opportunity. Ina and Francois, thank you for your hospitality.

We decided to stay only one night on our way back to Gauteng. Will stay a little longer next time as we want to enjoy the hiking trails and viewpoints. We are cyclists and although it was raining when we arrived, we did pedal a short distance on the dirt road. The place is extremely neat. Decor is tasteful and stylish and layout is simple and up-to-date. Bedding is fresh and good quality (to make you sleep better!). Ina is a great hostess and likes to help where she can with advice and makes an effort to make you feel at home and welcome. Fresh flowers throughout the house, the most delicious freshly baked muffins and home-baked rusks made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. Lovely outdoor barbecue place so that we could throw our meat on the coals and experience the Karo tranquility.
