The River Retreat on the one side of the rivier, offers 5 tastefully furnished units which sleep 18 guests in total. All of the units have private bathrooms, satellite TV's, bar fridges, microwaves, tea- and coffee making facilities, toiletries, hair dryers and ceiling fans. The two-bedroom budget unit shares a bathroom and has a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area. The River Retreat can be booked as a whole for guests wanting to enjoy a private function with family and friends.
The pool, boma, Lapa and indoor braai facilities are at guests' disposal. Guests are also welcome to braai their own meat on a campfire.

It was an incredible experience. It is a beautiful house and very tidy with everything you need. The owner is really a caring person who makes sure that her guests are taken care of. I will visit there again for sure. The animals were everywhere, the pool was a highlight. Thank you very much aunty.

We only stayed overnight after a day on the golf course and left early for Sunday's round of golf. Would like to know more about load shedding schedule. Even if it was only via WhatsApp so that you can be prepared if you arrive in the dark of night. The shower head was clogged, only a few thin streams came out. Furthermore, we really enjoyed it. Thank you very much Hilda, your place is neat and clean. Will use your hospitality again. Also already told many people how nice it is there. The giraffes came to greet us early in the morning. It was a privilege to be part of your nature.

Booked a separate unit, for no reason was moved to another unit that shares a geyser with the next unit (and then has poor supply). Was there for work and there is no signal and no WiFI available, so couldn't get any work done.
Very pleasant cremation, the accommodation, hospitality, cleanliness and affordability of this gem of a place. The friendliness and hospitality of all the people of Karibu was immediately noticeable. That alone made you feel right at home. If you want to be quiet and close to nature, this place is the best. Can't wait for the next time we visit Limpopo again.

If you want to offload this is the place to come to. We love nature to come close to our Creator. The smell of the Bush early mornings and the wonderful sunsets. We see Giraffes/Impala/Monkeys/Zebra/Blue Wildebeest/Gemsbok/Mongoose. We are bird lovers and saw a few birds that we have never seen before. Cuckoo/Swainson’s Francolin/European Bee-eater/Brown snake Eagle (Red Billed Buffalo Weaver/Black-shouldered kite/Three streaked Tchagra/Mascarene Martin/Bohhm’s Spinetail/Olive Bush-Shrike/Green-backed bleating Warbler/BarredAnd the cherry on the cake a very rare species the Green Tinker from our stoep, we watch him every day going into his nest (small hole in a dry tree stump). The accommodation has anything you need and more. Fantastic hospitality. Cool down in a spacious clean pool day and night. Marble Hall Spar is 20km away if you run out of water or fresh fruit.
Thank you Hilda, we really felt at home with you. Very cute place that I can highly recommend. I'm going to take another group to you. Enough facilities such as toilets and showers. Nice and quiet and away from it all if you like it. Hilda, I can only recommend one thing please. There hasn't been a casserole (where we can put the roast beef) in our little house. This is quite something that comes in handy if you like to grill.

Beautiful scenery and lovely beds.
I like visiting Karibu River retreat, Hilda is very hospitable and helpful. We met some lovely fellow guests and enjoyed the new swimming pool as well as the walking in the game reserve part of the farm. The water arrangement with the shower is still being improved. We loved looking for the crocodile who has decided to make her home in the Eland's river retreat's dam. The two male ostriches love walking around the farm near the swimming pool.
Place looks good but needs more maintenance. The service is not good. There was nobody to see us out, and check if everything was in good order, only when we left the premises were we called and accused of taking their towels and threatened to be charged for it.
Hilda is very hospitable. We really enjoyed it.

Its a very nice place, very peaceful, the rooms are beautiful too.
Very pleasant weekend away, in a cosy thatched cottage, overlooking a small dam and bushveld, on the banks of the Elands River. Good for hiking on the game farm and I had good animal sightings on foot (water monitor lizards, blesbok, zebra, impala, monkeys, tree squirrels, Ostrich, Wildebeest and Buffalo on the neighbouring game farm).
I suggest that Karibu River Retreat think about installing air conditioning - otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, quietness, tranquility and the friendliness of Hilda.
We found the place easily. It is great, peaceful and beautiful despite of the drought. Host went out of her way to make us feel comfortable.

The unit has a kitchen, a large patio with an indoor braai and there is an outdoor braai and a covered plunge pool.
The River Retreat on the one side of the rivier, offers 5 tastefully furnished units which sleep 18 guests in total. All of the units have private bathrooms, satellite TV's, bar fridges, microwaves, tea- and coffee making facilities, toiletries, hair dryers and ceiling fans. The two-bedroom budget unit shares a bathroom and has a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area. The River Retreat can be booked as a whole for guests wanting to enjoy a private function with family and friends.
The pool, boma, Lapa and indoor braai facilities are at guests' disposal. Guests are also welcome to braai their own meat on a campfire.
Karibu River Retreat has WiFi and an inverter for load shedding.
On the other side of the Elands River, on a game farm, the lodge also offers 4 self-catering chalets that are positioned to see the water whole which game often visits. Each chalet has a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge, microwave, gas stove and the necessary utensils. Each chalet also has private braai facilities and a patio, as well as ceiling fans and gas geysers. There is currently no WiFi or a backup power system here. The converter only supplies power to the borehole and pressure pump for water supply.
Guests can take a walk, go mountain biking or game viewing. There are more than 50 bird species on the farm as well as 3 fishing dams.
