A Karoo surprise in the city. Cute Karoo decor. It was blissful to be able to spend time in such a beautiful and large garden. Apartment is very nicely furnished and everything is nicely clean and stylishly decorated. The owner went to great lengths to fix our initial problem with the TV after the previous customers put it off. The extra large bed was a bonus. The staff were very friendly and helpful and treated us like royalty. The silence really strengthened the Karoo atmosphere. Milo was a friendly canine companion for our yorkies. Delicious fried. Would definitely like to use this place to stay again.

Communication ahead of time was excellent. Although we were only in Vanderbijlpark for one night, Karoo Huisie was the perfect accommodation. Everything you need and more. The attention to detail was particularly noticeable. Would definitely recommend!

What an amazing place, got a warm welcome by the host. Being a bit chilly that night, they had the place nicely warmed up for me just to walk in to a surprise welcoming treat waiting for me. Unit was immaculate, had a wonderful night's rest. Bed very comfy with heated blanked also aircon in the room to break the chill. Unit is fitted with high-speed internet and Netflix to enjoy a chilled evening. Great water pressure, nice big shower, stunning garden area just to relax outside just enjoy peace and quiet. Undercover parking provided. Property very secure. All your major eating spots just down the road, or you can order MrD. I would highly recommend staying at Karoo Huisie, will definitely be staying in again on my next trip. Next time I will stay longer than the weekend if all goes well. The whole complex was clean and neat, wish I could have got there earlier and sat in the garden with a dop of twee. I like their decor, they caught that Karoo style. Travelling there from Jhb I turned one stop too early and got a bit lost, so I phoned Annie. Annie and Kobus did a special trip to fetch me from where I was, turned out 5 minutes away. Uitstekend! I really liked that king-size bed, sadly I'm not 25 anymore, and I was there by myself even if I was 25! Julle ken my, praat nie vuil nie, sê maar net het baie geniet. It was a school friends 70th birthday at Liquid Lounge, Emerald Casino, 10 mins drive straight down Beethoven, no turn off.

What a wonderful place. The hostess is super friendly. The house takes you back in history, but is still very modern and stylish. There are small special elements and the place is huge! I was there for one night and the fact that there was Netflix was a bonus for me (you usually get the limited DStv channels). Such a nice place, something different from choosing the same boring, standard, small-bed-and-small-fridge, nothing-special guest house or B&B. It's close to everything and the area is quiet and very safe.
The Karoo Huisie is true to its name in that it really is a home in the strange for any traveler or traveling worker. Quality of facilities and service is excellent; the hostess is always willing to give help and advice and where possible to make the stay even more comfortable. Environment is quiet, safe and within easy reach of shops, workplaces and leisure.
We only slept over one night, but it was the best sleep we've had in a long time. Feel safe and it's peaceful and quiet. The bedding is wonderful - usually you don't sleep well the first night, but this is not the case at Karoo Huisie at all. Highly recommend.

Not too far from the banks of the Vaal River, and near the gateway to the Free State here in Vanderbijlpark, your feet find a surprising piece of "Karoo". Neat and cozy, this piece of tranquility is safely hidden away from the big city's noise. With country hospitality you are warmly received and led to the neatly equipped lodge. Your precious ride is accommodated under a large canopy, safe from the sight of anyone who might consider breaking one of the 10 commandments. The Karoo Huisie invites you in to its space and comfort. Self-catering means you can get comfortable with a nice cup of peasant comfort, or English or red tea, should you prefer; and you can enjoy these with delicious home-baked biscuits (hospitality provided!) - either in the cottage, or in the loop court of a garden in front of your cottage! Thank you very much Koos and Anni for allowing us to share your Karoo House.
I can really say that from the arrival where we were received very kindly until the departure was lovely. The place is very beautiful and you feel like you are in the silence of the Karoo. The decor is beautiful in the house as well as the delicious coffee (and we were even spoiled with the best muffins). The beds were made up with very welcome electric blanket which was a big plus for my mom. The best cold water I've ever drank in my life. Would visit them again just for the water. The owners are absolutely the most wonderful people and no effort was too big for them. I would really recommend the place to anyone looking for an overnight stay.
The accommodation was a treat for us as aged individuals. Very hospitable and the butchery on the premises has delicious biltong!
