105 guests' feedbackNeat and well equipped spacious room with high quality bedding. The bathroom and shower are five star and exceed all expectations with adequate towel rails and storage space next to the sink.
A wonderful find in the middle of the Karoo. Good bed, nice garden to sit in and a good breakfast to start the morning.
Fantastic. Facilities clean and tidy. Very nice stay.
What a lovely friendly welcome and also a room with every possible comfort thing. We were also made to feel at home by the two dogs and afterwards the dinner and sleep were really nice. The dinner menu is not large, but there is something for everyone and the vegetables are fresh! Definitely a place we will visit often on our trips to the Cape.
We had a wonderful stay at Karoo Life and the room met all needs. The friendliness also made our stay very pleasant. Karoo Life is within walking distance of everything, even just a nice walk to Boplaas and De Kelders Wine Cellars. The atmosphere in the Salie Bistro during dinner was cozy and the staff definitely deserves a thumbs up too! Breakfast is excellent and we will definitely stay overnight at Karoo Life again. We will definitely use Karoo Life again.
Had a great stay and the staff were very hospitable.
We had a wonderful stay. Pleasant and helpful reception, facilities good and tidy.
Lovely room, friendly host and welcome breakfast.
Never disappointed when we stay there. All aspects covered - rooms, breakfast and great hosts. Optional restaurant for evening meals is excellent.
Very nice stay. Breakfast was delicious.
Pleasant room with access to the garden.
Very nice stay. Loving dog.
Lovely place to stay, and very well located for the annual succulent festival. The restaurant is a pleasant place to hang out in the evenings, and service was excellent. It would be nice if breakfast was served at 7 am, or made optional for those of us who have to leave early. The wuffies were very friendly, and made you feel right at home. You even get used to the church bell.
It's such a nice experience to be welcomed and treated like a guest. Thank you. The breakfast was exactly what I was hoping for. Comfortable and neat. Clean. Loved it.
Friendly reception. Place very centrally located.
The unit was very clean and well equipped and the restaurant served very nice food.
Headed to KKNK overnight at Karoo Life to explore the town and wineries. Had a nice stay and breakfast was delicious.
Dinner very expensive for the amount of food you get. Bed was sagging on the one side.
We had a great time at the Karoo Life guest house. The host and wife (and adorable dog) were friendly and helpful. The food was nice and the room was neat. A place to sit in the bathroom for your bathroom items would be useful.
The food was great. Room well appointed. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. And Liefie (the Boxer) made us feel very welcome too!
Very well furnished. Central. Friendly host.
Will happily stay there again.
Comfortable, safe accommodation with a very friendly host who is excellent and provides delicious food. It's a bonus that dinner can be enjoyed on site. Perfect place to stay for a night or two. We will definitely visit there again.
We always stay here when passing through as the rooms are very good, breakfast is just right and the owners are friendly.
Convenient check-in. Spacious room and parking place. The breakfast is nice and the main house is beautiful (very old and well-maintained building). Quiet street in a nice historical neighbourhood but also close to the main street.
Stayed a few days midweek, room more than adequate, added bonus is fantastic menu for dinner options prepared to perfection. Absolutely worth the travel.
Wonderful host, hostess and food.
Very friendly staff and a great location - would definitely stay there again.
The accommodation was lovely - spacious room with modern decor, fresh linen and towels, very well equipped. And air conditioning! The large garden is tree-rich with some garden sets for the guests and with a view of the adjacent vineyards. There is also a swimming pool to cool off in the Karoo's heat. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the town and a short drive to the wineries of De Krans and Boplaas. Breakfast was included which was a bonus. The on-site restaurant surprised us with high-quality dishes - the best in town. The host and wife were very hospitable. Sweetheart, their dog, stole our hearts. Will definitely stay there again.
The room was spacious and the dinner was delicious. Excellent lamb, chops, and pizza baked in the pizza oven before your own eyes. The booking process itself was uncomplicated, and the hosts were very friendly.
Room is comfortable. Would have preferred a shelf in the bathroom instead of a chair to pick up. No safe in room for valuables. Room was very neat and clean. Breakfast was slightly disappointing compared to the other 5 B&Bs we visited, but still adequate. Our room could not lock securely because the plate in which the lock moves was gone and the wooden part was broken. The dog was very friendly and we had a good time. Would I go again? Yes.
Friendly service with neat facilities and safe parking Will definitely arrive there again.
The stay was very good. We had a nice stay.
The restaurant has delicious pizzas and we slept very well. The host and hostess were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay overnight at Karoo Life again.
Nice stay.
Was just great, friendly service.
Convenient overnight accommodation. Friendly owners. Restaurant on premises. Great breakfast. Lovely swimming pool to cool off in.
Very cute place. Madeleine made us feel right at home. Food was delicious and Liefie immediately crawled into our hearts - she is too dear. All the best for 2023. You will definitely see us again.
We had a great stay. Very helpful owners. A very good breakfast too. It was very comfortable too.
We immediately felt at home upon arrival. Despite load shedding, we were comfortable and felt part of the town and community.
Tasteful room, good mattresses, nice big shower, silence. And the dinners are delicious and affordable. We booked for the outward journey, and then decided to sleep there again on the return journey. Thank you for your hospitality!
The children also really enjoyed it, and will also stay there again. It is a very good place to stay, and explore rest of area.
Lovely garden cottage - comfortable and well appointed. Great breakfast. Perfect position to explore the town. Friendly hosts.
The accommodation is comfortable and nicely decorated. Owners are easy-going people who make you feel at home immediately, their adorable boxer, Liefie, also does her part to welcome guests as soon as they step in. Ideal place to stay to explore the countryside as well as attend the pomegranate farm, Celebratio's fantastic outdoor shows.
The place is fantastically clean. The interaction of hosts was great. Breakfast was deliciously prepared.
Great B& B. Friendly reception. Clean spacious room. Had linen on bed of super quality. And had breakfast was fine. We will definitely come back again.
Breakfast also very good.
Go for Love so miss the dog. Had a great time. Definitely come again. Delicious breakfast and nice facilities. Only complaint is that room was not serviced when we stayed 2 nights.
Host assisted us with towels, so we could have a swim in their pool.
Friendly service ensured a very pleasant stay.
Stayed one night in Calitzdorp and although renovations were going on, our accommodation was great and the service fantastic. Will stay there again if we are in the area.
We only stayed one night and slept well. Would advise owners to start looking at alternatives to power challenges. Very hot in summer and if aircon doesn't work bedrooms get incredibly hot.
The perfect overnight stop with extremely hospitable owners. Comfortable rooms, peaceful farm atmosphere and a loving dog-child, Liefie. Delicious breakfast before you embark on the rest of your journey. Can recommend it with the utmost confidence.
Was satisfied thank you. Good luck for the future!
We found the young girls at the guest house very friendly and helpful. Our visit was very nice and so was breakfast. Will definitely stay at Karoo Life again.
Karoo Life is a piece of history in the heart of Calitzdorp. It's within walking distance of three large wine farms and offers safe accommodation at affordable prices. The breakfast was phenomenal and the people definitely make you feel at home. I will definitely stay there again and can definitely recommend Karoo Life. Well done!
Very huge rooms with all the amenities. Excellent braai area and "kuier area". Very tasty and interesting breakfast.
See stars.
Will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Calitzdorp!
Beautiful place, with a beautiful garden, beautiful pool.
Ons het heerlik gekuier, was vriendelik ontvang en die ontbyt was ongelooflik - lanklaas so lekker geëet. 11 uit 10 vir dit.
Have a good time, hospitable, friendly and safe.
Positive experience, very pleasant owners.
We had a very pleasant one night stay at the Karoo Life B&B. The room was comfortable and the inviting pool was an added bonus. Michelle is a very welcoming, warm host. The best part was the delightful breakfast cooked by Henry - something to be experienced, not only for its tastiness, but also for its wonderful presentation. The location of the B&B is also very convenient for walking around the town, and visiting Boplaas and De Krans wineries. All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay. The only niggle was the ceiling fan which would intermittently make a grating noise.
Comfortable, spacious, convenient, lovely breakfast - all good.
Friendly hostess and her husband who conjured wonderful breakfasts with fine detail. Wonderful 'feel at home' experience with great support.
We had a warm welcome from our hosts, our rooms were very comfortable with spacious bathrooms and comfy beds. Our hosts set up everything for us to enjoy a fantastic braai on the lovely stoep. Karoo Life is well situated to walk to the shops and wine cellars with ample safe parking.
Calitzdorp definitely see us again. Zamani Grill with the smallest bar on the R62 is the best!
Everything was great, will visit again for sure.
People are friendly and very accommodating. Nice classic and historical place.
Delicious breakfast - beautifully presented. Secure parking. Family room is spacious. Owner's welcome with a glass of Port was a nice surprise and made us feel at home.
We had a wonderful stay! Drink in the silence and let the old-fashioned charm take us by surprise! The breakfast was absolutely superb!
We were kindly received by our hostess, Michelle, and after unpacking, it was a lovely, relaxing weekend from the first moment. Really enjoyed the porch, garden and view of the mountains! Both days' breakfasts were big surprises and very well prepared and tasty by Henry and the rest of the kitchen staff! I would go again anytime!
Building needs work.
We also went to eat at their restaurant. The best fish I have eaten in a long time. Breakfast was also very special.
Outstanding service, very friendly staff.
Once again we enjoyed our stay at Karoo Life with an absolutely delicious and tasty breakfast with wonderful hosts.
Karoo Life and Bed is a small B&B with rustic charm. Supper is not provided but restaurants are nearby. The breakfast was reasonable.
Very neat and clean, enough to keep warm for cold winter. Lovely yard with enough space. Secure parking. The breakfast was a very pleasant surprise and delicious!
Facilities were adequate for overnight stays. Secure parking. Excellent host and hostess.
Very neat and clean. Outstanding facilities and wonderful breakfast.
See the stars.
Owners very friendly and helpful, rooms were very comfortable, warm and well equipped, breakfast was excellent.
Lovely stay and good breakfast, will definitely go again! Dear hostess and husband.
Very good organization and hospitality.
Delicious breakfasts. Friendly host and wife. Nice spacious room. Enjoyed a lot.
Henry and Michelle was great hosts and the breakfast was nice and beautifully served. Slept well, linen good quality, everything was what we wished for.
The facilities are very neat and the people are very friendly. They really went out of their way to make it enjoyable for us.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. The rooms are beautiful and well equipped. The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Very tranquil accommodation with everything you need.
Nice stay.
We were received very kindly and the ladies were very smart and helpful! The rooms are functional with everything one needs. I traveled with two small dogs and Karoo Life was very kind to welcome them as well (I made arrangements in advance). There is a big garden and we felt very safe. Feel free to visit there yourself and just pop into the Handelshuis across the street for a delicious dinner!
While we were there, a change took place. I think everywhere you will find times where maintenance or modifications need to be made. Here it went smoothly. Hats off to John. With all that, we were very happy there! Nice stay. Also thanks to the cook who made us an early breakfast. We had to leave early!
Constructive criticism: Would recommend that they get a WiFi booster. Although you pick up the WiFi signal in the room and even in the dining room, no data can go through because of the WiFi strength. This is especially for when we go there for a business trip. Would also recommend a better TV bouquet, especially in the social area on the patio. Such a cosy space, but very limited if a group wants to watch a big sport event. The TV in the room makes such a noise that it can't be used.
We spent two nights at the Winter Festival in the very neat Zebra room. We were very friendly and hospitably received and immediately felt at home. Breakfast was from the top shelves. Can definitely recommend Karoo life.
They themselves go the extra mile for guests.
Typical Karoodorp, guest house conveniently close to restaurants. Room-en-suite tidy, nice decor. Very friendly reception by warm staff. Breakfast service not as desired.
We enjoyed our one night at Karoo Life so much! Bronwynne, the host, went out of her way to make us feel at home and she even gave us a glass of port when we arrived. Wonderful breakfast the next morning - just what we needed before our wine-tasting session in the area. We will definitely be back - places like these, with good service and affordable are so few and far between these days.
We had a comfortable stay in well-appointed rooms. The church bell that chimes every 15 minutes kept my son awake but that is what happens in a Karoo town! The dinner at Die Handelshuis was very good.
The hospitality at Karoo Life outshone everything. The manager made everyone feel welcome and she went out of her way to make the accommodation as pleasant as possible. Premises needs a bit of maintenance but it doesn't impact the accommodation negatively. They should consider adding parking spaces, especially for bikes. Entrance and exit gates are a problem. It is located around a bend, vehicles and trucks race down the road. Heading out with a bike was a big risk, with a car also but less so. Maybe they could install a mirror so you can see properly before entering the road.
We were at Karoo Life Bed and breakfast for our tenth wedding anniversary. It was an incredibly nice visit. The owners and managers, Bronwyn, were incredibly friendly. We were spoiled with the most delicious breakfast every day. We will definitely go again and will take our kids next time. Best service, best value for money! Thanks to Karoo Life!
Thanks LekkeSlaap for excellent arrangements.
We enjoyed it tremendously and the reception was top notch. The hostess and her daughter went our of their way to make us feel at home.
Gorgeous place, clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast.
Nowhere to sit except on the bed and my mother told me a bed is not a chair. 2 Chairs ould be nice.
