Karoo Nest fully met my requirements: safe, beautiful, very neat place to stay for someone on the way from the Western Cape to the Eastern Cape with 2 small dogs.

Everything you need is there, electric blanket, braai wood, TV, space.
Extremely pleasant - everything was a lot more than up to standard & we enjoyed it thoroughly.
Neat and everything needed is there. Very cold cottage for winter months but will be lovely in the hot summer. Fortunately, there was enough bedding for a good night's sleep. Lovely mattress!

The unit was well equipped. One can literally just unpack and relax!
Stay was disappointing. On arrival we were informed that the booked accommodation was no longer available due to repairs. The accommodation that was offered is extremely poor due to faucets that are loose on the sink, a toilet seat that doesn't fit, and rats in the garden. Would not recommend the stay at all.

Karoo Nest was the perfect overnight option for a one night stay. Close to wine farms we wanted to visit quickly. Clean and tidy. He also put the generator on for us because we had a baby with us.
Neat and clean. A lot of effort is made. Air cooler fantastic and battery fan with load shedding. DStv great.
Karoo Nest is a beautiful apartment that is part of a house. What is fantastic is that it is completely private with its own fenced outside area. We have an almost 3 year old who is very busy so it was perfect to have the private area that was closed as well as having a nice canopy, table, chairs and free standing braai. The air conditioning inside the apartment was a life saver in the December heat in Calitzdorp! Apartment's 2 rooms are also perfect for a family of 4. Two single beds for the children in a separate room and double bed for us and bathroom. Perfect, tidy and very clean, we will definitely be back!
Accommodation was neat and exactly as advertised. We slept great and everything was perfect. Will definitely stay there again and recommend!
Neat, clean and comfortable. Communication from host was very good and even suggested restaurants open on New Years. Air conditioning was a plus as well as the ice cold bottle of wine in the fridge as a welcome. Would stay there again anytime.

It was good, except I found the room excessively perfumed and struggled.
They did not even try to do anything about the muddy driveway from the road to the parking area. According to me it could be very dangerous because my car skidded. We had no water for one hundred inches. Called them several times and only then did they report a burst pipe in town. Master bedroom photo correct but I believe they should put up second room as well.
This place far exceeded my expectations. It has everything for a comfortable SC stay. Comfy bed and pillows; lovely bathroom; kitchen had everything and there is a small table outside, with some chairs and it's under an awning (perfect for eating or, well, having a smoke). There's also a braai stand. Bonus points for a powerful aircon and full DStv package. The location is very close to everything. The hosts were very helpful and very friendly. I only stayed for 2 nights, but there was plenty of toilet paper, soaps, etc. Mark of a good host, in my opinion. Make sure to step out in the night to see the stars.
The owners come from Johannesburg, but originally from England. They are very safety conscious and enjoy the quiet and safety and vegetation of the Klein-Karoo. Pleasant hosts. Room and facilities are neat. We had a nice stay and slept well.
It was truly a resting place in the karoo. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our stay. Will not look further for another place if we want to sleep in that direction again.
Walking distance from the wineries in the area. Nice and tidy large shower in the spacious bathroom. 2 single beds ideal for the 2 children next door. Bedroom with double bed and kitchen. Nice Calitzdorp port in a bottle. And a bottle of ice-cold Calitzdorp white wine in the fridge. The cactus garden provided a lot of entertainment for the children. We ate outside under a permanent kazibo. There is also an outside drum braai and air conditioner in the master bedroom. Friendly service.

Located on fairly busy street. Vehicles and high school pupils' passing route. Accommodation is very neat and had everything we needed. Calitzdorp was too hot and unfortunately the mosquitoes cut our stay short. Was bad.
