Nice quick overnight place. We appreciate adjusting dates at the last minute.
The stay was fantastic! Neat clean and comfortable room with fresh and clean bedding and towels. The air conditioner was an absolute delight as it was extremely hot during our visit. Melissa, the office lady and our host, was a star and we are very impressed with her service and friendly professionalism. The breakfast was delicious in the beautiful main house with the most pleasant Karoo atmosphere and old-time nostalgia. We were absolutely pleasantly surprised with this guest house and the service we received there and we would not want to stay anywhere else on a next visit.

Beautiful property, large room and very attentive service. Located in a quiet part of town yet close to the nearest restaurant for supper. The rooms look nicer in reality than on the photos.

Very neat and quiet, grass and a garden where the dogs could run and play. Very hospitable and large. There is WiFi which made the stay very comfortable and a TV with Netflix. The aircon helped a lot with the hot December heat. Will use the accommodation again anytime.

We booked many months ago but despite this, we were put in a back room, facing the driveway and no garden view. There were multiple things wrong in the room, which spoke to neglect and lack of maintenance. However, the place was cleaned and the people were lovely.
An absolute gem. The pictures don't do Karoo Ouberg Guest Lodge justice. The room was neat, had all the amenities we needed. Comfortable, clean bedding and an electric blanket, which came in handy for a winter's evening. Money well spent. Will definitely be back. Staff very helpful.
The room and bathroom are spacious and comfortable for a family and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was top notch. We did struggle a bit with the hot water pressure in the bathroom.

When we arrived it was raining a lot, it would have helped a lot if there was a roof over our unit's front door. The lack of it caused it to rain and our room's floor was soaking wet. The gutter above the door was also blocked and this also gave rise to the very wet floor in the unit's room.

We stayed in the Garden Room with 2 single beds. It was comfortable, with everything you need. Middelburg has a water problem, early the next morning we had no water, as well as no power due to load shedding The Middelburg area remains incredibly beautiful.
Very nice stay on the way down to the sea from JHB to George. The house is so beautiful and historically unique. The family rooms are very spacious, well equipped, very comfortable and we slept peacefully. The staff is extremely nice and everything is nice and clean. Will definitely stay again. Thank you that our Pekinese could also enjoy a nice place to stay overnight!

We arrived just before 8 and were warmly received. Parking right by our room, behind an electric gate, and lights were already on for us. Neat, spacious and exactly what we needed.
You are transported back to a time that you long for. An absolute must to experience this place. Thank you for excellent service. Just what we needed, room with additional space and beds for luggage and young children. Spacious garden. Comfortable atmosphere.
Wi-fi was available, but signal very weak, barely one person could use the service. TV's sound was off, aircon's batteries were gone. Bath's sprinkler has difficulty transferring to the faucet. Sheets were clean, but duvet cover and small pillows and TV were dirty. Because we don't eat pork, breakfast was not available. At the hotel we were directed to, there was no cereal breakfast either. At least we ate a nice omelette. Nevertheless, after taking a bath and realizing that nothing was working it was suggested that we move to another room. It was absolutely just too disruptive. After a long trip, unpacking and refreshing, one does not feel like packing and moving everything again. The receptionist replaced the batteries for us. The next day the TV's sound worked. I suggest: let the guests know if the room will be cleaned if guests are not at home. I would have appreciated the privacy more. Another suggestion: Feel free to market the cute little book we first saw when we were packing to leave. We would definitely have visited some of these attractions if we had known about them earlier.
The one bedroom bathroom taps were unusable. One room did not have air-con.
Service at reception very good. Other person later unfriendly when I had to go and ask for a light when there was loadshedding.
The wiring is all over the place, wires everywhere. DStv not connected. Mat in front of bed dirty. Bathroom has no hot water, when there was it was so little that you can't use it. The hallway has no lights and the outside lights at the house were off. Their 3 star was valid until 2007. It is not worth a star at all. Place may have been very nice, but it needs a lot of attention and upgrading.

They need a plan with load shedding. We have a freezer and were constantly stressing about the things that were going to spoil. Power went out about 5am and was still off 07.30am when we left. I don't like the town at all.
The rooms were comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The bathroom itself was functional and clean, but papers and toilet rolls from the previous guests had not been cleaned or replaced.

Waited for us, as we arrived only at 19:00, friendly and helpful. But floor in the room was very dirty, bathroom and bed was fine.

We were informed in advance that the town does not have power, but if you have already paid you should go and check. We could still manage without power, but unfortunately that also meant no water. I cannot believe that in the 22nd century there is no crisis provision. The last straw was that the "maintenance" told me over the phone as a guest that I should let him know if the pump needs to be bled for us to have hot water. The poor person on duty did her best to help us as much as she could. The carpet in one room was messy and dirty and the fridge had old, sour milk in the bottom of the bowl. It didn't look like it had been cleaned.
Upon arrival, power was out which was beyond the establishment's control. However, the water was also off and we had to scoop water from the pool. The one bed was not cleanly covered.
It was just a sleepover.
Just saw someone to give us keys. No other services. Sleep and drive!
My children complained there was hair in their bed. The restaurant we were recommended was terribly expensive and we waited for hours for food, kids were starving from long journey, they didn't even give discount for long wait of more than 2 hours for food!

The town is neglected. Accommodation satisfactory for overnight stay while travelling.
On the night of 29/30, one of the guests' vehicles was broken into. The car was damaged and things were stolen.
Quiet Karoo accommodation with neat, spacious rooms. Will be able to make a nice group stay.

Quiet and pleasant and tidy.
The reception was very cold and unpleasant. The room was not cleaned properly. Dirty napkins and soda caps still found in room. The bedding had stains and marks on it. The ants in room were everywhere even on bedside tables. There was no water in the room and we had to find out afterwards (five and a half hours later) what was going on. Only then was the pump turned on and our water supply to the room was restored. We have made inquiries about an item that was left behind and so far no one has gotten back to us.
Beautifully restored house. Accommodation was convenient, tidy and clean. We received a warm welcome by Griet, who looked after us. We had a delicious breakfast on the porch the following morning.

Comfortable and in a good location on the edge of town, but not self catering. There was a braai skottel, but no plates, knives, forks etc.
The rooms were neat and adequate as an overnight facility.
Beautiful place to stay overnight, disappointed that rate excludes breakfast which makes the rate excessive in relation to other accommodation which does include breakfast.
