Beautiful accommodation and friendly service. We were warned in advance that the walls are not soundproof between the units and we experienced this first hand when our neighbors got up at 4:00am the next morning (and their alarm went off every 5 minutes from 5:00-5:30am). But despite this, we had a very nice stay - we enjoyed cooling off in the pool and breakfast was delicious.

Nice stay in a quiet neighborhood in Oudtshoorn. Fairly close to restaurants and reception was good. Units are neat, clean and well equipped for short and longer stays. Quality of internet was good.
We stayed 2 nights and were very warmly received by friendly staff. We had a great barbecue and hung out at the barbecue area before the reception. The spring goats running around freely were of course also a big highlight.
The place is beautiful and peaceful. Service is excellent, and staff is friendly and very accommodating. They even catered for our little one regarding sleeping arrangements.

It was a comfortable place to stay. They saw a cottage that was very considerate. It is really a very beautiful place. Breakfast was delicious. The villas are for 4 persons, but definitely not 4 adults. Rather 2 adults and 2 children. There were no towels available for the additional persons. The villa appears as if it is set up for 2. The communal Jacuzzi and laundry services are only available at additional costs which are not made clear on the advertisement. We asked that no cleaning be done during our stay. We went out for the day and upon returning we could see that the request had been declined and that someone was indeed inside our villa.

I would like to share my unhappiness with Karoo Retreat Gastehuis. I booked one of their Comfort family units for two adults, but when we arrived, we were given one of their luxury villas. The stay in the villas was very noisy because it is connected to three other units, and you could hear every conversation of the people that stayed next to us. One couple had small children, and that was even worse. We booked for self-catering, but there was no cutlery or utensils other than two teaspoons, cups, and glasses. We could not make any porridge or warm up food.
The place is beautiful and peaceful. Staff is friendly. Would prefer that staff do not pass directly in front of the villa. It disturbs the peaceful atmosphere and invades your privacy.
We were warmly welcomed by the ladies at reception. The information and check-in process was easy. The room was spacious and had everything we could need. The bathroom had enough storage space. There was plenty of hot water. The rooms are tasteful and luxurious! Attention is given to decor, accommodation, the garden and pool area! A friendly cat made the stay extra special. The bedding was clean and cozy.

The facilities are beautiful, with a lovely swimming pool. Although the unit is presented cleanly in white, it is impractical with the bathroom on the lower floor and the bedroom on the loft. The white floor and white stairs did not create enough contrast and created an unsafe feeling. The room also did not cool down at night because there was no good air flow and with load shedding the air conditioning did not work. It was also disturbing that the room was not dark enough with windows that were too high for curtains.
