49 guests' feedbackBeautiful getaway unit for a weekend. Neatly laid out for the small space that can only accommodate 2 guests and is also private.
It was good to break away for a bit and Karoo Rus was definitely value for money. Very nice environment, still in the town, last street at the foot of the mountain. Quiet environment and you can really get your rest. Hot tub takes a little while to get hot enough, but then it's worth it.
Cute "container home". Good value for money.
Very nice, thank you! I just think the WiFi needs to be upgraded for people who want to work, but other than that it's a fantastic cottage.
We had a great time in the Tiny House. Was very excited about the "aircon". That was a bonus.
The place was very nice and clean. The braai is inside the house, which will certainly be very nice in the winter, but smoke is always a problem. What bothered me is that you peer into your neighbors' houses from anywhere. Always in your space - didn't want to sit outside because of that. The lovely hot jacuzzi, as in the photos, was not hot - working with a donkey and it was not lit - didn't know if we could do it and how long it would take to warm up.
Very nice, quiet, clean, tidy. Children really enjoyed them.
Apart from the fact that the place is a bit tight for 2 people, it was comfortable enough.
Neat, clean and comfortable. The Tiny House is a good base if you plan to spend most of the time doing activities and eating out, but probably best when used in conjunction with the main house as a group, because then there is enough room to braai and socialise comfortably in the main house.
It was nice and quiet. Thank you.
The accommodation was not practical for my elderly mother. The unit is only accessible via two steeper than standard steps. There is also no door between the unit and the little front entrance and we constantly tripped over the bottom doorframe. The front entrance has a decking floor through which the ground underneath is visible and provides no insulation. There is hardly any room to comfortably move on either side of the bed. Also there is no hanging space for clothes. There was also not acces sto any pool as purported in the search filter. Two very distinct units are marketed in a manner that seems as if this unit has more to offer than it does. It was clear with my query on arival that this was not the first time that guests requested access to a pool and the person who recieved us had to explain.
The location is nice, the neighborhood is nice and quiet and safe. I was very disappointed in the beauty of the kitchen. All cutlery, plates and bowls had to be washed before we could use them. When opening the knife and fork drawer, one could clearly see the previous visitors' food on the forks and spoons. The rest of the place was clean. The cushions are in urgent need of replacement as they are as flat as a pancake. If you visit in winter and want to sit inside later in the evening, there is not enough seating for a family to sit together.
Most unpleasant having to make do in a converted shipping container. Not at all as presented in your promotional literature.
Highly recommended - good views, well-located, friendly hosts, well-equipped, quaint and homely, loved the heated splash pool and unique garden table.
Had a very nice time.
The back porch is heavenly. The whole house is a journey of discovery. Here you can find rest for your soul. Small things make you feel like you are traveling in another country.
We were in town only for an overnight stopover. Karoo Rus was the perfect place to lay our heads for the night. We had all the amenities needed but did not make use of them due to the short time of our stay. Well worth a visit.
The unit is compact, but very neat and clean. Will definitely recommend them.
Very nice clean and tidy. Quiet area.
The place and name fit together perfectly. Very nice place to rest and relax.
Ideal for short term stays.
Had a great time, cell phone reception is just very bad and the drains in the bathroom could be cleaned a bit with drain cleaner.
Karoorus is well located in beautiful Montagu. We didn't realize that our accommodation was in a container (our own fault, didn't look closely at the photos). For big people like ourselves who are used to a lot of space, the accommodation is too small. There is also a place for six people on the same premises.
Unfortunately only an overnight stop so didn't have time to try the bath, will have to go again.
Very friendly welcome. The cleanliness of the unit was striking.
Nice break from the feeling of the city, and nice time to spend with your family. There was only one thing that bothered, it was the mattresses on the kids beds which are not adequate for teenagers, you could feel every plank.
The stay was very nice. I suggest they bring in a closet for your clothes.
A lovely, neat little cottage that provided everything we needed for our stay. It is situated in a peaceful area that allows for a relaxing stay.
Many amenities did not work.
Thank you very much for a nice peaceful place. We enjoyed the time and would return anytime. We will remember the friendly reception forever!
Boesman and Petra were wonderful hosts. Tiny Karoo Rus had everything and more, we loved the bath on the deck. Want to get away for a romantic weekend, this is the place to go to. The town was so breathtaking, will definitely visit again. Thank you Boesman for the wonderful biltong etc. basket for my husband's birthday, what a great surprise.
House is neat and has everything you need. Ideal location and very safe.
Would recommend to anyone looking to spend quality family time together.
A bit cramped. Would recommend for 1 person.
The service was very special for us and they put a lot of effort into kicking off our honeymoon properly.
We have been to the cottage and Tyny Karoo. Will always go back, friendly with the guest's comfort in mind at all times. Many thanks again to the website and Hendrik Brighton.
The owner is super friendly and the place is very nice to stay in.
My only suggestion would be to put a notice up to give instructions on how to warm the hot tub. With the expected time it would take.
The name Karoo Rus is fitting for the place, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Would have been very nice if WiFi could be installed.
I would recommend using this facility. It was clean and very quiet - just what you need trying to get away from the city life.
What a beautiful spot, so quiet and peaceful. The perfect getaway!
Very nice and nice getaway, tidy and everything you need.
Very comfortable with more than what is needed for accommodation. Would have liked a bedside table on both sides of double bed, but not a crisis.
Was very nice thank you.
To stay overnight and leave your things in the car, this is sufficient.
It is an incredibly nice happy place. We enjoyed it very much. Boesman and Marina are very friendly people. They made our stay very homely for us. They get 150/100!
You can switch off on Karoo Rus and just sit on the porch and stare at the mountains. We went for a walk and looked out for the rock climbers. It was a privilege to be able to stay there and visit with our family.
