51 guests' feedbackUnforgettable Karoo visit. Was a new experience for us. The silence creeps deep into your heart as the hostess and host do. The warm welcome and warm hearts dominate the Karoo cold. The provision for every possible event (even an emergency medicine box) makes the visit so much more comfortable and takes away a lot of stress and uncertainty about the remote farm. The small gestures were of great value. An outside light if you're out late at night. Wood for a fire. So much Karoo care.
Karoo silence was truly food for the soul. The place perfectly captures the absolute beauty of the Karoo. Thanks to the host and hostess, we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.

The location and its surroundings are very calm and beautiful - just a perfect place for nature lovers and to relax. The house is well-equipped and beautifully furnished with stunning views out of all windows. The pool is perfect for a quick cool off in the heat. The hosts are the best one could wish for. They supplied us with everything we needed and even more. We went for a lovely hike within the farm which provided us with stunning views and a lot of animals to discover. We would definitely recommend this place since we had the best time - Thank you very much!

The place has everything and more to ensure your visit is comfortable. Tania is a fantastic hostess and all the extras are a bonus. She really thinks of everything. We went for a walk on one of the most beautiful routes. My heart is full and my soul rested.

We were regularly kept up to date on matters, when we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Tania. The lovely dogs were a bonus. Silence and Tranquility.
The chalet was equipped with absolutely everything one would need. Tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The hostess kept in contact with us, guiding our route and giving us lots of tips.

There is a silence and a beauty in the Karoo that you just can't find anywhere else, that feeds the soul and that you can experience. The cottage was very neatly furnished and the owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and our visit was unforgettable. There is a 40km dirt road to the house, but the road was very beautiful and we could drive it with ease in our client Picanto. One night is just too short to spend here. Karoo Stilte is a piece of jewel and now a permanent inn on the way to and from the Cape.
This dinkiest of cottages on the Karoo vlaktes bordering the Karoo National Park certainly lives up to its name - providing quietness and peace in spades. While compact, the cottage has everything - and more - that you need for a very pleasant self-catering stay. Tania and Karel are next-level hosts and are on hand to assist with whatever you need. And if you're a 4x4 nut like me, ask your hosts to route you around their varied and beautiful farm, or just walk to your heart's content.

Tania informed us about the road from early morning, and also regularly followed up on where we were going. The unit was spotless and equipped with everything one could possibly need. The scenery is breathtaking and the silence deafening. It's definitely worth the detour from the N1 and I can definitely recommend Karoo Stilte.

The cottage is very well furnished and very comfortable, meeting all needs. A lot of attention paid to specific needs, especially in the kitchen such as basic necessities, foil, paper towel, barbecue salt etc. Wipe clean and fresh. Hostess maintains a high standard. Would recommend anytime to anyone looking to get away from hustle and bustle. Farm is located next to the Karoo National Park, good dirt road and easily accessible.

A nature lover's paradise! Tania and Karel are the perfect hosts. We were welcomed with smiles, sent a nice detailed Whatsapp with directions and important info the night before and arrived at this gorgeous, and well equipped home. They literally thought of everything, if you need a mosquito net, doom, braai spice, candles, whatever, it was in the chalet! We made some lovely family memories on this farm - we swam in a steel dam with carp (fish) swimming underneath us. Karel even fed the fish for our son (13 months) to be able to see them close up. Tania offered to bring us sunblock, hats and towels. We spent our afternoon on the very cool and relaxed stoep, drinking wine and watching our fire. At night, we were surrounded with gorgeous stars. We were actually sad to leave the next morning. We will definitely stop over here again. Take into consideration: it is a farm on a gravel road about 42 km's off the N1 - if you don't want to stay in the busy town and want to experience nature, this is perfect for you. If you are easily irritated by driving on a gravel road and are also easily paranoid when staying in the middle of nowhere, this is not for you. We loved this experience and will return!

Karoo Silence is the most beautiful place that has been transformed with love and care into a comfortable, stylish resting place for the soul. There really is everything you could need. And then there are still nice surprises in the fridge too. Nice big windows give you everywhere a view of the beautiful open Karooveld. Furthermore, you can sit on the covered patio and read, barbecue or just stare into the distance with your thoughts. Furthermore, you can walk in the wide plains or walk up the mountain, see the wildlife and just appreciate the silence. Karel and Tania are the most wonderful host and hostess and really go out of their way to make it a wonderful experience.

The freshness of the cottage inside is what catches your nose first. We had the opportunity to explore the farm by means of 4x4 and do some game viewing. The Karoo silence and the star gazing at night is awesome. We enjoyed Karoo Stilte so much that we actually stayed an extra night. Tania and Karen spoilt us with braai wood and gave us ideas to explore the Karoo. The views of the mountains around the cottage is breathtaking. The spoils of spanspek, watermelon and olives were such a treat. Thank you again for everything. This is seriously the best place we have ever experienced in Beaufort West. What a way to end off 2020 and start 2021 with Karoo Stilte embodied in our hearts and mind. Tania and Karel you will definitely see us again.
I would recommend the place to any couple. Tania has thought of everything and the place is a diamond in the Karoo. The view over the farm and stars in the evening is breathtaking and you really experience the Karoo silence there. The dirt road is pretty smooth and can be driven with any vehicle. Thank you very much for a nice overnight stay, will stay longer next time!

This is not suitable for overnight facility. 52 km round trip to N1 is a bit far especially after such a long drive.

Tania and her husband made us feel at home from the time we booked. A beautiful couple with such an interesting life story and future plans in this hidden gem. What an awesome destination majestic sky and mountain views and we were privileged to have sight of Jupiter and Saturn - the Bethlehem star of 2020. The cottage is beautifully appointed and you have every utensil you could need for a twilight escape in the Karoo. Majestic braai and the braaibroodjies and meat pack were to die for. Will definitely return many many times again on our commute to Cape Town from Johannesburg.
