Very happy with the accommodation. Look forward to seeing them again!
Wonderfully cozy, everything is to each other.
Delicious, safe and delicious food. Please sit down just something in the bathrooms so we can put our clothes and toiletries there. Regards.
I also asked if they could bring my dinner to my room and it was no problem for them.
Accommodation was lovely with beautiful clean facilities. The food at the restaurant was very tasty with good value for money. Nice swimming in a clear and clean pool. We would love to stay there again.
It was relaxing and quiet.
We only stayed one night. Everything was neat and clean and we had a nice meal with friendly service. In the room we did miss shampoo and soap in the shower and only had one bath towel for 2 people. However, these are small details and overall the stay was pleasant and we will use them again.
Perfect overnight destination that makes you feel like you should stay longer. Friendly staff with delicious Karoo food on the menu.
Very safe parking, friendly and helpful staff, nice surroundings, spacious room. So calm. Unfortunately no carpets on the very slippery and cold tiled floor - not even in the bathroom.
I was greeted by a very friendly Izzy. She was super professional and she welcomed us with a smile. The parking was safe. The room we rented was amazing. I will definitely book here again.
Very comfortable, food was delicious and staff were friendly.
We felt very much at home with the friendly staff. Room was comfortable and tasteful.
Definitely worth the visit. Nice walk around to take in the atmosphere.
Shower rose leaked, the hot tap in the basin constantly running, and multi-adaptors were not really working-we battled to charge our phones. Door key didn't work. Very cold during loadshedding.
Best place to stay for rest.
Everything was beyond expectation.
After a lot of driving around Graaff-Reinet, definitely the best. When you drive through the gates, paradise awaits you. Would recommend to anyone.
The restaurant in the guest house has delicious meals!
Room was spacious and well equipped. Didn't have breakfast there, did have dinner which was very nice. Can recommend as a stopover or base to visit from Camdeboo Park.
It was a nice clean place, with good service.
Lovely stay. Clean. All you need is catered for.
We only stayed one night, had a good breakfast and were able to eat deliciously at the on-site restaurant.
Quiet village and helpful staff. Food was off the books.
Was very clean and hospitable, delicious food there also would definitely recommend it.
Reception and everything was nice and efficient.
Accommodation was neat and clean. Both rooms have 2 single beds.
It was peaceful and private but would not recommend the restaurant. The service was slow.
Whole place is very clean and rooms comfortable.
Rooms neat and clean. Porch dining area needs attention - empty bird cage and rubbish bin can be removed.
We have no control over shedding, but my mutton shank was still ice cold on the inside. The guest house is very well located. It offers facilities such as a restaurant, bar and secure parking. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Our stay was pleasant.
Accommodations were satisfactory. Restaurant excellent. Just sorry about the water shortage. Couldn't take a shower.
Guest comfort a low priority. Toilet doesn't flush properly, soap holder by sink broken, shower broken and unusable, chairs in bedroom impossible to sit on, room lit all night like daylight by outdoor lights, curtains not authorized, outdoor seating covered with felt mist had to clean myself and waited 45 minutes in empty dining room for dinner order. Stay elsewhere.
There was a private function with a bunch of kids screaming and running around the aisles. The residents had to sit and eat in an impersonal, separate room. Service was poor.
Was a winner! Will go back again anytime. And the food was very tasty and portions were very large.
Everything was very neat, clean and "cozy". The food was exceptionally tasty and absolutely excellent value for money. We would give Karoopark 6 out of 5 if we could!
Karoopark is a beautiful guest house. The rooms were well equipped. Value for money.
We had a very nice stay. The venison pie was delicious and the beer cold after a long day on the road. Small improvements will make the place even better, but understandable after almost 2 years of restrictions.
We usually sleep over here and as usual service was great, hospitality top notch and dinner delicious.
Was wonderful to be received and served in your own language. Everyone was so friendly. We were warmly welcomed and shown around. The food is top notch. Rooms are nice and spacious and everything is clean and tidy. Nice quiet and peaceful environment. Would recommend to anyone and we will check in again ourselves. A visit that just warms your heart.
Everything was very neat and clean. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. Extremely hospitable.
We got the honeymoon suite at no extra charge, the service was excellent. The place will be our future half-way stop when traveling to and from the Cape.
Have a good rest and the staff is really very friendly. The rooms are very neat and the restaurant and bar's service and food are good. We will definitely stay there again.
Room was very neat. Food at restaurant was delicious. Children really enjoyed the pool.
Great stop-over on the way to Plettenberg Bay.
The confirmation service with Karoo was excellent. Staff followed up on whether we wanted to enjoy dinner with them, sent over the menu and served a delicious hot meal. Special request was handled very well.
Good, basic accommodation.
Even if it was only for one night, we had a very nice stay. Shade garden is a bonus. Will stay longer next time.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was really good too.
Exceptionally good service by Phillip. We could eat in the room, which was very convenient.
It is convenient that there is a restaurant at the guest house, so one does not have to go looking for dinner after a long day on the road.
The room was very comfortable with everything one could want. The reception was effective. Food in the restaurant was excellent. The beer was the coldest I have ever drunk.
Just overnight. Guesthouse informed us too late that they also serve dinners. We had already booked at another restaurant.
Was maybe a little expensive!
We were very disappointed with the shower tiles and grout, which were old, worn and dirty. When we want to go to bed at 22:00 that night, we see that the bedding is extremely poor. There was a double mattress protector and double fitted sheets on the queen size bed. The quality of the sheets, pillows and duvet was very poor. Then we were moved to another room. The bathroom was an improvement, but the bedding was still not good quality. We would definitely not recommend Karoopark.
I did not find the unit very clean. I think they could have vacuumed it better. There was a lot of loose hair from the previous visitors in the room.
We booked a one night stop over here in December and were provided with an outside room. The place is old and no effort has been made to update the furniture and bedding. We had one of 2 outside rooms which was literally on the street. The creaking floorboards made it difficult to get a good night's rest. Definitely not worth the R1550 for one night! The pics of the guesthouse are misleading!
It is a great place to sleep with delicious dinners.
The food was amazing. Very nice evening meal and breakfast. Swimming pool was the highlight for our children as well as the large garden.
Restaurant and bar on premises come in very handy, no need to go looking for food if you are tired from travelling. Very neat. We slept well. Price high.
Beds and general areas a bit tired and in need of updating. Pillows very old and uncomfortable.
See stars.
Perfect for a stopover to the coast.
Good value and quiet. Room very well appointed. Breakfast very good and complete. Parking behind closed gate and safe.
Really good accommodation and will definitely use Karoopark Guest House again should I need accommodation in Graaff-Reinett again.
Staff are friendly and very helpful. Nothing to complain about. Place was painfully neat and it was just a pleasure to stay here. The dinner was affordable and top notch. Will recommend Karoo Guest House without hesitation.
Very nice stay. Everything clean and tidy. Comfortable large rooms. Very quiet.
We had a lovely stay and slept well. Picked up car problems and had to stay longer. Karoopark was so nice to give us the same room. Great service and friendly staff.
We stayed at Karoopark Guest House on our journey through South Africa for visiting Camdeboo National Park. The Guest House is conveniently located in the centre of the historic town and has secure and shaded parking on the premises. We had a very spacious and clean room in the tropical garden. Dinner and breakfast were both very good. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Had a nice stay. Reception friendly and very helpful. Would also recommend restaurant.
An excellent place of character to stay in Graaff-Reinet. The Karoo lamb chops dinner was excellent as usual.
Very quiet, we slept in room 6, away from everything, would only suggest you sit block-out behind the white curtains, the room is very light at night which keeps you quite awake.
The guest house was not aware of our booking. We had to wait a few minutes in their reception before placing us in a room. Besides this, it was a very pleasant guesthouse. The breakfast served the next morning was delicious!
Sal weer daar gaan bly.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the place has a nice homely feel. Will return next time in Graaff-Reinet.
The entrance is on the main street, but the accommodation runs far into the yard in i.e. rooms and parking are removed from the street which makes one feel safe.
Centrally located.
Was the ideal option for our needs.
The room was wonderfully spacious, very tidy and well equipped. The dinner was delicious and all the staff quick and very friendly! The security of the parking space is reassuring!
We have stayed in several guesthouses. Karoo Park Guesthouse was the best ever. Everything works 100% - from the breakfast in the morning to the dinner everything is top quality.
We had a great stay and will definitely book there again. Eaten deliciously and walked everywhere! I do request that darker curtains be considered for the rooms the garden lights make the room light up like daylight and I was told that unfortunately the lights have to be on at night. Then please get dark curtains for the rooms like what the breakfast room has.
See the stars.
Good restaurant. They should just add a few more power points for cellphones, computers, etc.
It is unbelievable that a dilapidated place like this is offered to the public at such a high price. There is no comfortable dining table, the chairs are worn and old, the utensils and equipment in the kitchen are antique and dilapidated, the outdoor seating overlooks a dilapidated enclosed backyard that looks like an informal settlement.
Will definitely stay again.
Such a nice stay, the pool and tapas in the late afternoon are a must, and the dinner is always delicious!
Friendly staff. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Neat room and safe parking. Definitely recommend and will stay there again.
Such wonderful friendly service. My family from overseas enjoyed their stay here as well. An additional toilet would have been nice though but we coped. P.S. my elderly Aunt did trip over on the pathway leading from the cottage via the back route to the restaurant. No major injury except a large lump on her outer thigh. It has since gone down with some anti-inflammatory cream a few days after departure.
Would definitely recommend. Clean, tidy, value for money. Delicious food.
It's conveniently located in the city, but not the same as sleeping on a farm and the living room is a bit dark. But otherwise perfect.
Karoopark was a one night stopover for us between Lesotho and the Cape. We didn't make use of the option to eat at the guesthouse, but spending the night there was convenient. The room was neat and spacious which is helpful if you're travelling with a 3 year old who just wants to run around. The premises was very neat and secure with secure parking, which is helpful if you don't want to unpack everything just for one night.
Place surprised us, was very clean and tidy with a big room with everything needed. Very nice restaurant, service was a little slow, but lodge was full, overall very pleasant experience.
Clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast.
Not worth a single star! Cold shower. Bad furniture. No dressing table. No rugs in room or bathroom. No mirrors.
When we arrived at Karoopark Guest House it was almost 40 degrees outside. But Karoo Gastehuis was like an oasis. The room was wonderfully cool and so clean. The pool was practically begging for us to swim. The food at the restaurant was top notch. We will definitely use them again.
It's just one of those lovely places to stay. The rooms are wonderfully cool and neat and clean. Everything you need is there. The restaurant's food is delicious. Will definitely stay there again. The pool is clean and was almost welcoming in the Karoo heat.
Excellent guesthouse. Service is phenomenal.
Nice accommodation with historical background. Friendly reception and they never made us feel like we were a burden because of friend who is a paraplegic. Secure parking. Will definitely bring my family here in the future when we travel.
The destination is incredibly beautiful and cleanly laid out and the restaurant and service are wonderful.
Will stay here again neat and clean facilities.
Feel free to see the stars.
Have stayed at Karoopark several times and enjoy it every time. Accommodation and food were delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. Can recommend.
Paid a lot for only a room and then there wasn't even cold water to drink in the fridge on arrival. The curtain in the bathroom doesn't cover the whole window and people walk past the whole time and can look in the window which is directly opposite the bath/shower. You don't have much privacy in the room unless you lower the curtain completely, and then it is very dark. There was a TV but not much to watch. You would expect at least a few DStv channels for that price. The aircon was a big bonus in the middle of summer. The staff were friendly and helpful overall. I liked the fact that meals were offered on the premises especially because we have 2 children under the age of 2 that travelled with us. Food was delicious. Very central location.
Everything comfortable very clean and quiet would stay there again. There was a problem with Eskom but they informed me that the power would be on next morning from 05:00 which would be nice if there was an urn in the kitchen where you could get hot water for coffee before the long drive To the Cape. In no 6, I was too light outside light curtains.
Meals were very good and very reasonable. Rooms were well equipped and clean.
We enjoyed the rest in the convenient rooms. The food was delicious. We had a good rest!
I recommend the kudu steak and had a pleasant stay.
A perfect place to stay! Well run and friendly!
For an overnight option to recommend.
There was always a bad odour in the hotel. Expensive and the breakfast wasn't great.
It's like the place was good, but not really anymore.
A nice overnight spot if you are on your way to the Garden Route.
Very positive, except I feel it is overpriced for what you get. Attention to finer details is lacking, such as one bar of soap to divide between bath and shower. Shampoo and conditioner are packaged in sachets instead of bottles or decent containers.
I definitely recommend LekkeSlaap to book any accommodation. Our bookings were handled very professionally and we experienced no problems. LekkeSlaap's staff definitely understand the concept: service delivery, and I will only book through LekkeSlaap from now on. Karoopark Guest House's service was top notch. We were received very hospitably and were able to eat delicious county food after a long and hot day on the road. It is affordable and within the reach of the average South African. I will definitely spend the night at Karoopark from now on when I travel to the Western Cape.
Spacious, delicious rooms, dinner and breakfast were excellent.
Service and meal in restaurant was fine. Rooms were clean and tidy, but lack finishing touches.
Peaceful and pleasant stay. Neat accommodation and a good meal at the restaurant.
Spacious rooms. Delicious meals. I can definitely recommend it.
Had to find accommodation in the town at short notice and at that point almost everything was full. Then get one of the cheaper rooms Karoopark. The room was quite acceptable and I slept well. The dinner was great.
Friendly and helpful staff. Neat and clean. Peaceful stopover for our trip to Mossel Bay.
I would have preferred fresh fruit salad with breakfast instead of very fresh fruit.
Very nice place. Definitely recommend it.
Experiencing nice hospitality and a nice breakfast.
Good value for money if you need a place to sleep. Restaurant and swimming pool on site, make it very comfortable. Rooms need general renovation, but otherwise in working order.
Neat room, convenient "pit stop".
We really enjoyed it and were delighted to get a room on the ground floor which was spacious. It was convenient. All that was a bit of a bummer is that the shower didn't have a door, but we don't like the "wet room" concept. The variety of TV channels can also receive attention. The food with dinner was tasty and pleasant. The breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast, but the sausages were very tasty.
Good and friendly service. Great location to explore town on foot.

Karoopark Guest House is practical and offers value for money.
Linen and towels very neat. Rooms and rest of cottage very clean. Thanks for safe parking. Breakfast was delicious.
Very well located for a half way stop to the Cape.
A wonderful rest stop along the road between Johannesburg and George.
It was a feel good stay...will definitely stay there again.
We liked the privacy. And everything was clean, cosy and beautiful!
Pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff. Helpfulness was the order of the day!
The staff at reception could be a bit friendlier, however they were completely helpful. The room and beds were comfortable and tidy, as was the bathroom. Breakfast was very good and kindly served.
Karoopark is a historic building from the late 1800s and formerly a school dormitory that was converted into a guest house in the 1970s. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Decor is very 1970s, but that doesn't bother. The service is friendly, fast and effective. Delicious breakfasts and dinners offered at reasonable rates. There is a nice swimming pool to cool off after the long drive.
Very nice stay. Neat, clean with good service. Would love to stay there again.
Good location and friendly service. The food with dinner and breakfast was tasty.
I really have nothing to be negative about because everything was good and pleasant.
See the stars below.
The people are friendly and helpful. However, it is clear that they get a high volume of guests and the bedding and towels show it. The room needs urgent attention. I would not recommend it to friends. Personally, I prefer a guest house with fewer rooms.
Have a nice time! The air conditioning in the rooms was a breeze.
A very busy place. Will definitely stay there again. Vehicle was covered.
It's a very nice oasis after a dry Karoo. Everything was in place and it was nice to be able to saddle up after a long day's travel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We will stay here again if we are in the area.
Thanks for a nice stay...enjoyed it. Your service is friendly and your food is excellent and very good value for money!

Great Graaff-Reinet Guest House.
After a long day on the road it was a treat to relax in such facilities.
A beautiful place and stay was pleasant. The facilities are well maintained. A lovely environment and good security. The mattresses can be replaced.
Pleasant pocket-sized stay!
We spent the night on our way to Sedgefield in an old building that was well maintained. Nice pool to cool off in! The room we stayed in is on a very busy street. Breakfast was adequate. Will stay here again.
A decent guest house in Graff-Reinet.
We got adequate accommodation. It was all that we needed for a stop over. It is centrally located. The hotel itself and rooms are dated.
Nice stopover on the way to Knysna. Lots of things to see in and around Graaff-Reinet.
Friendly reception, clean attractive rooms, mouthwatering food, friendly staff and safe parking. Keep it up!
The rooms are simple, but very nice, clean and calm. A supermarket is nearby, as well as the National park. We were there for two nights with our two sons.
Everything was good, except for big mirror where you can sit and dry your hair.
Nice location.
We were received by a friendly and professionally host. The food was excellent. The facilities up to standard. Had a good nights rest.
We had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and service was great. The kudu steaks we the best in town so stay for supper! Overall we were impressed with everything!
We enjoyed a lovely dinner and breakfast, and received very friendly service. Safe parking and a BIG bedroom!
Staff were so friendly and helful especially barman (Clayton)and fair haired guy (well built) My wife and I were really impressed by the service and the place in general
