It was an unforgettable weekend! The absolute silence and tranquility was exactly what we needed. A quick escape from the city, we were welcomed by the most beautiful butterflies that flutter around the lavender bushes all day. The house was clean and tidy, the kitchen is really fully equipped with everything that can be opened and closed. All the little details were just the icing on the cake, not to mention the most beautiful starry every night. Heaven on earth - thank you Kasteelkop Gasteplaas for sharing this beautiful piece with us. We will definitely be back again!

Our stay was pleasant. The tranquility was healing to the soul. No disruptions. Indeed the standard for self-catering was presented on another level. You literally had to bring only your food and clothes. The space was perfect. It is not advisable to arrive at night for proper visibility. Other than that, I am a satisfied customer. Thank you.

Had a nice walk to waterfall and drove to Kasteelkop.
What a nice getaway in nature. The road to Kasteelkop should preferably be driven with a bakkie. The van will also help with getting around to the waterfall and river on the farm. The farmhouse was very well equipped and safe. The Jacuzzi is a definite must for every visit. We will definitely come back to Kasteelkop again.
Unbelievably beautiful place. Horse riding fantastic. Children really enjoyed the animals. Oude Schuur is so beautiful and has everything and more you need for a stay. Value for money.
Kasteelkop is a fantastic guest farm and is incredibly furnished with a stylish interior design. There is everything you need and more. The dishwasher was an absolute bonus and the fact that there were extra cutlery, plates and cups was great. The visiting area is beautifully furnished. The rooms all have warm blankets on the beds - thank you for this! I would definitely recommend this place. It was an incredibly fun weekend for us.

If you want to experience peace and quiet, we definitely recommend Kasteelkop. Beautiful old farmhouse with the most beautiful view. Can just sit quietly on the porch and recharge your batteries. Everything was so neat and tidy. Thank you for the Nespresso coffee machine. Possibly just tell guests that there is such a coffee machine, so that we can bring enough supplies with us. Thanks again and hope to see you again.

Beautiful farm. Beautiful views, wonderful peace and quiet. Nice hiking trails. The waterfall is a highlight. Very neat, nicely maintained and well equipped guest house. Wonderful large veranda where you can relax with tea and biscuits.

The farm is about 20 km on a reasonable dirt road that you should preferably drive with a bakkie. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Beautiful farm.
A friend and I stayed here for two nights to do some birding. A beautiful farm. We went all the way down to the Willow River and the landscape is beautiful. The house is tidy and very good value for money. Didn't feel unsafe at all. Have a good time on the big stoep.
The weekend's stay at Kasteelkop enriched our souls. We took our 2 dogs with us and felt like waffer farmers seeing that the owners allowed us to let the dogs roam freely and we could also explore the farm, waterfall and river - with the most beautiful views. The cattle, horses, donkeys and sheep created a real farm atmosphere while the luxurious stay in the fully equipped guest house (with a jacuzzi) had a contrasting effect. Breathtaking is the only word!
Kasteelkop is located in a peaceful area where you can just relax and spend quality time with your family and friends. The house is comfortably furnished with French flair and spending time in front of the fireplace in the evening is a highlight. The Jacuzzi will be a great treat in the summer with a beautiful view of the Eastern Free State grasslands.

P.U.I.K Beautiful Unique Inside nature A stone's throw from Jo'burg Our long weekend around a peaceful Free State farm was excellent. Relaxed and switched off from the busy life in the city. It was our 2nd visit to Kasteelop and our third visit is coming soon!
The area, owners and the accommodation were great. We would like to recommend that anyone who wants to rest visit the guest house. We would like to visit the guest house again in the winter.
At one point we had no water and had to wait almost 3 hours. The items that are sold such as wood and e.g. crackers are prohibitively expensive. The flies were annoying and there wasn't really a visible way (working Doom or something similar) to combat it. The area and farm are incredibly beautiful and clean. The workers are very friendly and helpful. It would have been nice if someone cleaned daily.
