There is safe, undercover parking, a splash pool and public garden area.
Kastelein is conveniently situated to provide easy access to the Elephant Coast resorts, vast variety of game parks and farms and King Shaka International Airport.

The guest house is truly one of the neatest and cleanest places I've ever stayed (I travel and work all over the country). There are very few hotels/guest houses/self-catering accommodation that maintain this standard.
It was a lovely sleepover after a long journey. The unit is very tasteful with everything needed.

This was such a wonderful place to stay, a gem in the middle of Pongola. The attention to detail in each unit is spectacular. We will definitely be staying here again on our trips home from Mozambique. We were also recommended to go have an early dinner at the local golf course, Spiller Bar. The food was lovely and child friendly.

The small details matter. There was milk in the fridge, lovely fresh rusks, fluffy towels and shower gel. These small gestures really help travelers.

Clean, quiet and private with a lot of attention to their decor, inside and out. I will definitely take my family next time. The color scheme in the units is relaxing and made with a lot of effort for the comfort of their guests. Made a lot of effort throughout to comply with COVID regulations. Very easy to find from the main road to KZN and conveniently located near places to eat. The garden layout matches their theme throughout.

Beautiful, clean and tidy place with one of the bigger showers than the other places. Fantastic mattress and silence through the night. The main road was not a disturbance at all. The food delivery also works very well.

We were received very kindly. We were a group of 3 people who booked one room. The owners offered us an extra room at no extra cost. They offered us facilities to braai. Everything was very neat and professional, with attention to the smallest detail. My first choice for accommodation in Pongola and surroundings.

Our rooms were ready and no problems occurred with arrival. Friendly staff and very comfortable, beautiful rooms. The kitchenette was a plus and the bathrooms a pleasant surprise!

Very nice stay. Very clean and tidy and well equipped. Only negative was the mattress which did not sleep very well. Luckily there were 2 single beds in the room and we slept on the single beds. Will stay at Kastelein again.

Welcome was out of the books, we felt right at home. Rooms are beautiful in a peaceful atmosphere. Rene went out of her way to make it possible for us to have a barbecue. I would definitely stay with them again.

Rene is a hostess 1000! Kastelein welcomes you with open arms. Each unit is impeccably clean and tidy. Rene goes out of her way to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as she can. Every day we were spoiled with delicious fresh biscuits, as well as delicious fresh nut coffee for the plunger. If you prefer plain coffee or tea, that's there too.

We got there at 23:00 and drove again at 05:00 but really enjoyed sleeping over there. The rooms are extremely neat and beautiful, and are also very well equipped. The people of Kastelein made a lot of effort to receive us so late and to fulfill all our requests. Wish we could have stayed there longer. Will definitely stay there again in the near future.

I have two four star guest houses in Sandton, Johannesburg, and am often critical when staying over at other places. However, in this case, I could not fault Kastelein on anything! The rooms were beautifully decorated, well planned, spotless, fabulously appointed and attention to detail was obvious. I was astounded that Kastelein was in such a little "dorpie". Their service, quality and standards would appease even the most discernible traveler. Well done to the team there! We were impressed and will never stay anywhere else when driving to Mozambique and Sodwana.
What a pleasant surprise when we arrived at Kastelein. Friendly reception, organized, focused on details, clean and neat, to not even speak of the beautiful rooms. Beautiful interior with the grey and white, a classical style combined with the modern elements (excellent choice!). Lovely, cool rooms (Pongola was 40 degrees that day and the rooms were nice and cold) - everything you need. The most beautiful garden, very tastefully furnished and super neat! We also had the most delicious breakfast the next morning, big portions. If I ever go to Pongola again, I won't stay at any other place except Kastelein. I left the Bluetooth Speaker that I got for Christmas there and Kastelein kept it safe for me until I could collect it on the way back. Thank you for the amazing service.

Rooms are great with everything you need. Safe parking is very important and we were very reassured about our vehicle. We were only home there for one night and didn't feel like driving any further. Wish we could stay longer.
A lot of attention is payed to small details, like it is supposed to be at a top 5-star hotel.
Maybe a bit expensive for a country town but very neat and clean. Was there with our granddaughter - might recommend pool fencing.
I'm no fan of B&B, but I was pleasantly surprised. The units were immaculately clean. Well equipped with those extras to make you feel special. Breakfast was phenomenal. I live approximately 15 days a month in a 5 star hotel in Durban where I am a Diamond member. I think they can go light a candle. A lot of effort was put into making the breakfast attractive to my late 4 year old son. Thank you very much. You will definitely see me again.
What a great experience. We only stayed one night on the way to Mozambique. The stay was incredible, the breakfast was way too much and terribly delicious and the hostess René, together with her team, did everything for us. I will stay longer next time. The best sleepover ever!
