Walking distance to the beach and it was nice not having to drive to get to the sea. Thank you that the hot tub was already warm when we got there, we really enjoyed it.
The husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kelkiewyn (Yzerfontein) and I can’t recommend it enough! From the main bedroom, you look out into the private nature reserve and your horrible, weekly alarm clock is replaced by a lovely wake-up call that is orchestrated by the bird choir outside. An absolute treat for avid birdwatchers or just nature admirers. It’s conveniently situated near Lula's restaurant, the artisan bakery and a short drive from the nearest Spar, making it easy to explore the area. Guests can also enjoy the private footpath in the estate to the beach which our Jack Russell really enjoyed! The entire house was impeccably clean and well-maintained. It felt cozy and inviting, with all the necessary amenities provided (Dishwasher, Washing machine, Ice machine, etc.). The owner went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests. He gave precise directions for the use of the KolKol hot tub, which really added to the overall experience. Considering the quality of service and the accommodation, it was an excellent value for money. I felt I received more than I paid for. Our stay at Kelkiewyn was truly memorable. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed, and I can't wait to return! Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Yzerfontein!
We had a great experience staying at Kelkiewyn for our holiday. The house is not only fully stocked with everything you need, but it also offers great views and is situated on a quiet corner of the estate.

We really enjoyed our stay and our friends really enjoyed the hot tub. It took a while to get it up to temperature with the winter chill, but once warm they enjoyed it under the stars. I appreciated how clean the place was and all the facilities in the house. It's located nicely close to all amenities and the beach. I just wish I had more time to go fishing, but we will stay longer next time, hopefully!

We had a fantastic stay at Kelkiewyn in Yzerfontein! The house was amazing (looks exactly like the photos), equipped with every appliance/utensil you could possibly need. Pieter supplies you with info on how everything works and provides detail about Yzerfontein's restaurants and how to access the beach. The house is in a secured estate with access to the pristine ’16 Mile’ beach which stretches all the way to the West Coast National Park. Another bonus was the local artisanal bakery and brewery a short walk away from the house! 2 nights was not enough time in this amazing house and town!
Have a nice visit. The house is very neat and clean and Pieter himself got a "backup battery" for the few loadshedding hours we experienced over our weekend. Will definitely stay at Kelkiewyn again!
We had a great time. The house is comfortable, clean and tidy with everything you need. There is WiFi too, a necessity for us teenagers! We only took food and clothes with us. Pieter also made the effort to send us load shedding times, weather forecast as well as when is the best time to go for a walk by the sea. As well as recommendations of places to eat etc. in town. We will go back again for sure.

Very nice stay. The place was clean and tidy. Have a good barbecue and enjoy the cooling pool. The rooms each had a decent ceiling fan. There were regular towels, as well as swimming towels. A short walk to the sea. I'm glad I could take our little dogs with me. Would recommend the place.
Perfect location if you are in need of peace and quiet. Only a short walk to Mile 16 beach for early morning and sunset walks! The house is spacious and equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed the KolKol pool to cool off during the day and heated the water during a cold misty evening. We spent most of our time on the stoep, looking out over the beautiful veld and salt pans. Saw lots of different birds and also had a little tortoise as a visitor. Pieter is a super friendly host and supplied us with ample information to make our stay comfortable.

I built a good relationship with the owner, Pieter. It was one of the best holidays with my children, but far too short. We are very privileged to have been able to stay at Kelkiewyn and if it is possible it will definitely not be the last. The atmosphere, comfort, cleanliness and location are fantastic. This experience is where dreams are born and will be talked about for a long time.
The house is stocked with everything you could need, and loadshedding wouldn't spoil your experience. The beds are super comfortable, the duvets are warm, the towels fluffy and a decent size and the kitchen even has an ice machine and dishwasher ─ which means you really do get to feel like you are on holiday. The hot tub takes a while to get warm, but once it's reached the desired temperature, there's nothing better than relaxing and watching the stars. We had an amazing time and wished we could have stayed longer!
The fireplace and the kol kol were an absolute winner and provided great entertainment for young and old. The house is wonderfully located. You hear the waves when you open your windows and doors. It is a stone's throw from the sea, as well as walking distance from Rosemead bakery where you can get the freshest baked goods and the most delicious coffee. With an ice machine and a dishwasher in the house, our 5 days were perfect.

Our adult children and 1 small dog came to Kelkiewyn with my parents for my mother's 60th. Pieter's hospitality was excellent and he let us know step by step about all the fun activities in the area and about all the things in the house so that we did not hesitate for a moment. The fireplace was stoked, the braai was used, as was the wood-burning hot tub and the dog had a great time frolicking on the grass even though the property in the security complex is not fenced. Every possible necessity has been thought of, from cling wrap to wood (at extra cost), to measuring cups and coffee, and I'm not even talking about how neat, comfortable and luxurious the house is. 10 out of 10!
The house is modern and clean, with an amazing stoep and braai area. The best was the hot tub! Lovely for adults and kids. The location is perfect! Will definitely go there again!

Kelkiewyn is a perfect option for a group of friends/family as the space lends itself to entertaining a bigger group. The kitchen is well equipped and the undercover braai/outside area is perfect to enjoy the beautiful views into the nature reserve. The beach is a 3 min walk and restaurants are also all within walking distance. The design of the house is modern and the hot tub is a great add-on for when it gets cold at night!
