This romantic cottage comprises 1 bedroom, furnished with a king-size bed, which can be converted into 2 single beds. There is a three-quarter bed available in the living area for an extra guest. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, a basin and a toilet, and an extra toilet is available outside the house.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and contains a stove, an oven, a fridge-freezer, as well as cutlery and crockery. Fresh milk and farm butter are provided in the fridge, and tea- and coffee-making facilities and rusks are available in the pantry. The kitchen opens up onto an undercover patio area which has an outdoor dining set and braai facilities.
In the mornings a special breakfast will be delivered to the door, comprising a freshly baked item from the farm's main kitchen, seasonal fruit and yoghurt. A carafe of Doornkraal's wine and enough woon for the stay is included.
Guests can enjoy horseback riding which is a great way to explore the area, and beginner riders are welcome. There is also a variety of walking and mountain biking trails in the area.

We had the most amazing stay at the Kerneelia Kothuis! Unfortunately just for a night. As soon as we arrived, we realised it is the type of place you can stay at for a week! The cottage is so beautiful and the host is just amazing, so friendly and genuine, and we really felt looked after. All the love and detail that is put in really comes through, and I couldn't recommend it enough! Thank you so much for the hospitality, and we will definitely be back when we are in the area again!

The cottage is truly something special. The hospitality of the Le Roux family is so unique to the Klein Karoo. Everything in abundance! All the most delicious breakfast. Cold wine in fridge, as well as ice. Coffee, jam, tea, milk and biscuits. A good advertisement for genuine peasant hospitality. An example for the industry. Gonna really miss that front porch with the heavenly view.
We love this place. Two years ago we stayed in the small workers cottage. I messed up the booking this time, and Julia kindly changed it to her other double room behind the main house. Absolutely no problem. There were extras like a bottle of wine and nice notes. Also, gluten-free bread for my wife. They definitely know how to look after their guests.
We had a really nice stay at Kerneelia Kothuis. The host was very friendly and we were welcomed with fresh flowers, fruit from the orchard and fresh herbs to use. The cottage is very neat and clean with the most beautiful plain and mountain view. The cottage is furnished with everything you could need - note that it runs on solar power, so there is no microwave, but there is a braai and a gas stove. It is quiet and we will definitely go back again. There is a lovely wine barrel in which to cool off. There is an option to order various items from the farm for your stay. We ordered braai packs, it was more than enough food, lip smacking, just like your Grandma would make it.

We had the most wonderful stay. The hosts are amazing. The food provided was delicious. We had a great time resting and enjoying the birds and farm life. Would recommend Kerneelia Kothuis for all nature lovers and getting away from the hustle and bustle of cities. We loved the privacy and especially the wine vat splash pool on those hot summer days.

What a wondrous place! Beautiful, cute, peaceful. Hosts are fabulous! Will go every year.
On arrival we were spoiled with delicious wine and barbecue boxes with the most delicious dishes. Breakfast was light and tasty. The silence of the Karoo is what one's soul needs, away from the city's noise.
The cottage was everything and more of what we expected - highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect getaway.
We loved the rustic nature of the off-grid cabin. It was perfectly equipped and comfortable. The sky, the hills, the farm - all just wonderful. We had dinners catered by the host - something not to be missed! And she also made delicious "light" (but actually quite complete!) breakfasts.
I can definitely recommend it as the perfect getaway for 2, close to Meiringpoort, and De Rust.

Kerneelia is a gem. A little farm cottage with really tasteful finishes. Rustic but very comfortable.
Celia's hospitality knows no bounds. Nice bottle of wine and breakfast basket. The place is well furnished with a nice barbecue at the back.

Kerneelia Kothuis has a comforting rustic warmth that immediately won us over. Celia welcomed us personally and made sure we were missing nothing. In the morning we were spoiled with a delicious breakfast basket and all kinds of canned treats. The sunset horse ride with drinks and delicious homemade snacks was a highlight. Doornkraal is an exceptional place with a rich family history, old-world hospitality and a treasure chest full of interesting anecdotes. We will definitely visit there again.

Everything was perfect! Definitely the right place for rest, and self-reflection. And the peacefulness and care of Celia and Sarie-Ma make you feel at home.
A real gem of a place to rest. Everything needed to make you switch off is there. Celia and her team take very good care of their guests. A real piece of heaven.
