The hotel is simple, vintage, neat and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there is a bar next to the hotel that has music playing in the background, but at least it didn't go on too late. Definitely worth it for an overnight stop.
Although the manager and staff were very helpful, the place was not worth the money. Didn't sleep well at all. The locals visit until 04:10 in the morning. The bar closes at 2 in the morning.
There are no complaints about the place.
Value for money for the visitor to the Eastern Free State.
I'm so glad that I had confirmed a provisional booking at Kestell Hotel! It's a magnificent old country hotel loaded with history and beautiful pressed ceilings. The supper on offer was a tasty wholesome home-cooked meal that I thoroughly enjoyed. Comfy bed and a hot shower, awesome value!

Old-fashioned style hotel, but neat and clean. Bed very comfortable and food was delicious with economical prices. Very friendly reception and service delivery.

It was easy to find. The reception is very friendly. The lady who checked us in was very nice and upgraded our room. We felt safe, but I think the value for money was a bit too high.
The hotel is very well managed, although everything is not shiny and flashy like the hotels in the PWV area, everything works 100%. You get more than you pay for. The hotel's food is delicious and the prices are very good. Not all the food on the menu was available, but there was plenty to choose from as an alternative. We will definitely stay there again.
It was wonderful to spend the night at the Kestell Hotel. The food and service we received was excellent.

Typical old country hotel that offers the necessary for the traveler who is tired and looking for a place to stay.
The bedside lights don't work, the WiFi is very slow, the shower makes a mess, no TV. In comparison to others places this was the worst.
Not ultra modern, but ideal for someone who likes the vintage charm. Owners are currently improving rooms.
The rooms were not ready and the place was dirty. The hotel is next to the bar. The pictures are not the same as the real place. I had to leave the place to look for other accommodation.

A great experience to a little unknown town. The hotel was great, rooms clean and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast - yummy.
Ideally located for what I needed.
In our rooms the cups were dirty, kettle and coffee to make with no power plug to put it in. There was a power plug just behind my bed where the bedside lamps are - if you unplug it to make coffee, then the room is dark. Armchair in room was broken. When I sat down on it, I fell right back. Luckily the wall was there to stop my fall. At 82 years old I could have been hurt very badly. It's extremely unacceptable. The beds are very high, old fashioned and uncomfortable. I know Kestell is a remote Free State town with not many facilities, but really wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
The man at reception was very unfriendly. The room was clean, but very dark. There were no facilities to heat our food and no place to eat in town was open on a Sunday night. We were only happy to see the Kestell Hotel in our rear view mirror.
The reception is not very friendly, but the food was very tasty. The bar is not well appointed - take your own wine. The accommodation was cheap and very pleasant for the price.
