Accommodation comprises 15 units, suited to accommodate up to 70 guests. The units on offer include the Two Bedroom Chalets with Patios and the Double Rooms with Patios. All rooms come equipped with comfortable beds, a bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, or both, a patio, and its own private entrance.
The 2 bedroom apartment accommodates 4 adults and 2 children under 12 years. The 3-bedroom apartment accommodates 6 adults and 2 children under 12 years.
On-site facilities include spa treatments and guests are also welcome to enjoy the outdoor activities. With the charming town of Clarens just a short 15-minute drive away, and the magnificent Golden Gate Highlands National Park next door, you won't be short on fun activities to experience.

100 guests' feedbackWe had a lovely stay, the unit was clean and spacious, and has a lovely veranda where we had a barbecue. Very bird-rich environment, and the bunnies can be seen everywhere on the lawns. We ate at the restaurant one night, the food is delicious! Walking trails right on one's doorstep, and nature was an experience.
We had a wonderful stay. The unit was beautiful and clean. Kiara Lodge is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. We will definitely stay there again.
Chalets are very nice, neat and clean. Has everything you need. The hot pool is lovely. Bed just sleeps very badly.

We really enjoyed it at the resort. Just a few recommendations. 1. Better road signs. 2. Also WiFi kept dropping, which was frustrating. 3. I think 3 o'clock check-in is late; I think it should be 2 o'clock. 4. Air conditioners in the chalets. Things that I enjoyed. 1. The space in the 3-bedroom chalet. 2. The generator on during load shedding during the day. 3. The pool and water slide. My kids loved it. 4. Games room. 5. Friendly restaurant staff.
Our children and grandchildren really enjoyed the visit.
On a completely different note, I would like to see the owners do more about the invasive trees (poplars and Black Wattle), as well as the groundcover Vinca, which grows so luxuriantly on the property.
Very nicely centrally located. The resorts themselves are very easily accessible and so are the services provided. To Kiara Lodge itself, maintenance of units on the outside leaves too much to be desired and can be a safety risk.
Close to Clarens and other attractions. Nice central.
What a wonderful location and a lot to do. We spend all our time at the lodge. Walking, fishing, swimming, boardgames, putt-putt just to name a few. Not overcrowded and noisy.

This was our first time at Kiara's. Was very impressed with everything. Especially when it was loadshedding. All the units are connected to the generator. The rabbits on the premises were very cute.

Very nice environment. Nice close to Clarens if you want to walk around the shops and have something to eat or drink. Note about double room, no 76. Only had one chair for 2 people. Photos show a couch.

Ons was baie teleurgestel dat ons bespreek het spesifiek by Kiara omdat daar 'n on-site restaurant is. Ons was 'n motorfiets groep wat graag by Kiara wou eet en nie weer hoef te ry na Clarens toe vir 'n restaurant nie. Daar was niks met ons gereël/kommunikeer oor die restaurant wat toe is en onder konstruksie is nie. Ons het geen SMS gekry nie en nie eens kommunikasie toe ons arriveer nie. Toe ons Kiara gevra het om te help met miskien taxi of vervoer na Clarens vir ete, het hulle vir ons net 'n kontak nommer gegee van 'n taxi, wat eers na 'n paar uur kon help. Ons kon dus nie so lank gewag het nie, want die restaurante maak vroeg toe in Clarens. Ons het toe weer almal kit aangetrek en Clarens toe gery en moes in die donker terug ry na die ete, wat vir ons baie gevaarlik was.
Nice relaxing and loadshedding caused no problems, there are large generators that keep the lights on.
Will definitely make a reservation again.
I would happily recommend the Lodge, restaurant, spa and activities to anyone. Very quiet, clean and beautiful Lodge.

Our time at Kiara Lodge was amazing, so much to do there. The rooms were nice and clean, the bathroom just felt a bit cramped to me. The restaurant's service was not quite what we expected on our first night there. It was load shedding and therefore we could not order certain things on the menu.

We were impressed by the size of the grounds and the varying accommodation options. It was so nice to have hiking trails on the property although a number of them are quite steep and challenging in places. There are rennovations taking place to the pool area but this did not affect us directly. Of course this is a holiday and family resort so if you are looking for a more peaceful and quiet getaway this might not be your best choice. Our room was well appointed with everything we needed, including a full sports package on DStv.
Also, every place I've visited in the winter has warm blankets, why isn't there?
Lodge itself is very cute. Restaurant needs attention, food was old and experience could be sharpened to fit in with the Lodge. Had a great stay and visit, looking forward to going again!
Having visited Kiara before, this was an easy choice for us, however we received unfriendly service at the reception. The next morning at 8 o'clock when we handed in the key we had to wait like criminals so that someone could go and check if we had not broken or carried away something. After 15 minutes of waiting we just left and will not simply stay another night.
It's an easy way to relax and just be at peace.

I'm just unhappy about the fact that certain activities were not available, I was not informed in advance, otherwise I would definitely have chosen an option other than a getaway!
Upon our arrival, we were first informed that their indoor pool had no water in it for a month. This was the reason why we booked here. Their booking agent takes weeks to respond to any enquiries. The price per day is R400 cheaper due to the pool not working. But we were not refunded the full price we paid per day.
Enigste klagte: Die vrou wat by restaurant werk jaag jul kliënte weg, sy het 'n slegte manier om met kliënte te praat, sou graag elke dag daar wou eet, kos is briljant maar as sy daar is het ons geloop. Die ander dame wat daar werk is fantasties, sy laat jou welkom voel en dis hoe dit hoort. Die ander staf is baie goed. Sal weer gaan maar sal restaurant glad nie ondersteun as daardie vrou daar is. Verder was dit asemrowend mooi en baie lekker.
This is the place if you want to holiday as a family or friends. Especially with children. Lots to do, even if it's cold or rainy. I look forward to going again.

It was very nice. Definitely recommend it.
We would've like to extend our stay for another day, but that option is not possible. We asked at reception, but they couldn't help us and said we had to do this through the agency. If we call you, you say it's not possible, because the system shows it's fully booked, even though no one came to our chalet on Sunday night. It only shows up on the cleaning services not coming on Sundays. We then had to check-out and return home earlier. Perhaps you should consider making the option available. You could've made +/- R3000 extra.
A beautiful place between the mountains, very quiet and peaceful. It is one of the few places that caters for families with toddlers. There is enough entertainment to keep adults and children busy.
Kiara Lodge is well-equipped, even for kids. A lot of activities.
We were well received but had to wait until 15:00 for key. At most other resorts accommodation is available from 14:00. All services and gardens are well maintained. Refrigerator did not get cold, only freezing was reported. Furthermore, the chalets are superbly finished and equipped with all necessities.

Clean rondavels. Well equipped. We requested for private rondavel and got exactly that 47A. Very quiet environment. Plenty of activities to keep you busy. Reception still has a lot to learn about internet payments. Only on the communication of the website they could work with. Nevertheless, we recommend Kiara Lodge. It is worth the effort.

Our stay was wonderful. Place is beautiful, well appointed and lots of things to do for families. We really enjoyed the hot water pool and the restaurant. Food was top notch. Definitely going to visit Kiara Lodge again! Thank you, even though it rained all weekend our stay was wonderful.
The checking in process is quick and the staff were very helpful. The facilities are very neat and clean and the mountain view is unbelievable. There is something for everyone to do and the Tuesday braai and Wednesday bingo were some of our highlights. We will definitely visit Kiara again.

We had a wonderful stay at Kiara Lodge! Our little house was very close to everything. The house was clean and tidy and the oil heaters certainly helped with the cold in the evenings. There's plenty to do for any age! The restaurant's food is straight out of the books and won't burn a hole in your wallet. Mum was pampered at the Spa which was heavenly while Dad went swimming with the two little girls. We had a little trouble checking in as the reservation was not given clearly enough, but nevertheless, we don't regret a single day that we were able to spend time there. We will definitely use Kiara Lodge again!

Excellent choice with a lot of activities to relief stress. We just missed a boat sailing due to renovation. We really experienced nature with mountainous atmosphere.
Received a friendly welcome. Neat facilities and the spa was fantastic. The service at the restaurant can be a bit better. But it was a pleasant experience and we will definitely go back again.
Kiara Lodge is a top notch place. We had a good time, got good food in the restaurant, slept well and thoroughly enjoyed everyone's friendliness. Those who are going to stay there can also try the delicious nut coffee and condensed milk across the road at "Di Bus Stop".
Kiara Lodge is family friendly with everything you could need, comfortable houses, walking trails, a pond for fishing, play park for the kids and a beautiful clean warm pool. Nice restaurant and bar. All in the natural beauty of the mountains and a safe environment. Definitely a holiday resort to visit again.

For us it was a perfect place to explore the upper part of Drakensberg region. We did some small hikings in the camp itself, but also explored the Golden Gate National Park, driving some loops with the car (here a clear recommendation to visit the vulture restaurant) but also doing some hiking tours. Unfortunately the pool was out of order and WiFi was not available during this time. This was for us not really important, because we are out in the nature most time of the visit. But it should be communicated to the customers booking the lodge in advance and before arriving.

Very unfit at reception. Swimming pool and rowing boat out of order without bringing it to our attention beforehand, but only when we stopped there.
Keira was an overnight stop for us, had we known how beautiful and nice it was we would have definitely stayed longer. You are so close to the breathtakingly beautiful nature, we will definitely go back again and take the family with us.

The 2 bedroom chalet is well equipped with all the necessities and a nice view of the surroundings. We were 'far' from the pool/play areas, but it was still walking distance. It's very nice that the pool and play areas are covered, because then the weather is not a factor. The shop has a small selection so take what you need or drive to Clarens for stock.
The place is in a very nice area, the units are very neat and the cleaning services are excellent. It is a very peaceful atmosphere and we had a very nice stay. The reception is not at all up to standard and we asked for them to look at the fireplace in the living area - we got no feedback on that at all.

Beautiful location and the spa is wonderful, but as it is a cold area, every place should have a fireplace.
The stay was nice except that 2 adults had to sleep on very uncomfortable couches. The booking was for 8 adults, then you give beds and not couches.
No WiFi, you have to pay R200.00 for 200 mb.
This is 'n pretty little place in the Maluti Mountains. The view is fantastic and the reception was excellent. I can definitely recommend it to other travellers.

This resort imposes a group limit and booking conditions, and has special check-in procedures, and require additional deposits and indemnities. If you are part of a group or multi-party booking greater than 12 guests, please be sure to check directly with the resort as soon as possible after receiving confirmation of this booking.
Renting out a unit prior to getting approval from management is not allowed. You may not “split” the booking period amongst guests that are not indicated on the official confirmation letter. Any damage to the resort property, including the unit/s and their contents, is the financial liability of the guest in occupation, and may exceed the breakage deposit paid at check in, depending on damages incurred during occupation.
Signing an indemnity form is standard practice. Only a person over 18 years may sign the Guest Registration Card at check-in. The indemnifier must remain in occupation for the duration of the stay. If the indemnifier vacates the unit, the remaining occupants may be asked to vacate the resort.
