There is also not a full DSTV package as in the description. Only certain channels. People with taller and lower vehicles should also be careful with unit 3's parking. Our vehicle was also damaged with the ramp curve being so high that it pushed our tow bar into the rear bumper.

Unit was nice and spacious, well equipped, except for bath towels and we could even grill a little meat.
Judy was very friendly - gave us the keys and a few things we needed to do regarding the cottages. Only negative was one toilet for a family, but we enjoyed ourselves.
Gas stove is a 2-plate loose stove on top of a slab with a loose gas bottle next to it. The toilet was leaking and I was asked to empty the container. The shower has a cloth 'door' so the floor is wet after a shower. Microwave oven is ancient and glass top inside is broken. 4 people cannot sleep here, there are only 3 chairs for dining and the 2 cots are in the dining area and you will have to lift the beds to be able to move. Grilling is suitable for 2 people who are willing to watch against a shade net while their meat is grilling on a rusted grill. I shortened my stay by 2 days.

This was our second visit to Kiewietjie and the peaceful village of Sedgefield. We enjoy the rural atmosphere. There are so many interesting little shops and eateries to visit and nice chats with the owners and residents that you run into everywhere. The area also offers nice day trips, not far away. Waking up to birdsong is great - saw so many different birds. The spirit is healthy again after the visit.
Nice place to stay in a hospitable village with everything you need within reach. Within walking distance of the beautiful Myoli beach and the river. Will definitely stay there again.

It is a very neat place with a beautiful view of the lake.
We had a great stay at Kiewietjie Cottages. Judy is a fabulous hostess and addressed our small issues quickly and without fuss. The 6 sleeper cottage is well equipped. Note that the main bedroom double bed is very firm - Judy can arrange for a foam pad to go on top to make it softer. There is a sleeper couch with a pull-out second bed in the lounge - a bit of a tight fit for adults, but perfect for kids. There is one bathroom (bath/shower and loo split) and is only accessible through the main room. The outside access stairs are quite steep and not really suitable for any elderly people who are not sprightly. There is no security fencing so on two occasions we had beggars come up straight to the main sliding door which is a bit unnerving for Gautengers.

For us, who are having to be very cautious when it comes to budget, this place was ideal. During our stay it was quiet. The surroundings, as well as the garden, were an absolute joy. Location ideal, all equipment we needed was provided and the place was spotless. The bathroom and toilet are a little cramped but, of course, we didn't need to spend our days there. Would we go back? Absolutely! Hosts Judy and Johan are friendly and helpful. Bonus point for having a small garage for parking our car at night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kiewietjie Cottages. The clean and cosy cottage is situated on a hill, surrounded by a well maintained garden, with distant views of the Swartvlei and lovely green neighbourhood. The cottage is well equipped with all the basic necessities. Our host Judy and her husband were warm and friendly and made us feel at home. Myoli beach and Swartvlei rivier mouth is in walking distance to the cottage. We would love to visit again soon.

Judy and her husband are very hospitable and immediately made us feel at ease. It is very central and very comfortable.
The host (Johan) and hostess (Judy) are very friendly and helpful. We were only 2 people and basically just slept there and used the bathroom - so the place met our needs. Our Ford Ranger, Double Cab is a modern vehicle and unfortunately could not fit in the garage, but there was covered parking available as an alternative. The steps to the unit are quite steep.

We went home at Kiewietjie Cottage this past weekend. Judy and her husband waited until 10 o'clock on Friday night to welcome us as we had a 5 hour journey to Sedgefield. The reception was friendly and hospitable despite the fact that they had to stay up so late to receive us. The unit was perfectly neat and clean, everything in working order. They make sure you have everything you could possibly need during your stay, and I really mean everything. It's walking distance from the beautiful beach and you have the most beautiful views all around you. The unit is a real "home away from home" and I definitely recommend it to anyone! Thank you very much for allowing us to come home to your beautiful place.
There were no towels in the cottage, so I think you should make it clear to the guests that they should bring their own.
We had a nice stay even though it was a steep walk, especially back from the sea. The house was well equipped and would be perfect accommodation if it could be slightly modernized inside. A more sheltered outdoor area, especially from the sun, will also contribute to a better stay.

We travelled from our accommodation to Knysna, George and Oudtshoorn to explore places like: the Kangogrotte, Kango Ranch and the Highgate Ostrich Farm in Oudtshoorn. Then we also spent a day watching Knysna's elephants and driving on the John Ben. To return to the quiet atmosphere of our stay in the afternoon was another plus.

Kiewietjie Cottages is definitely the best value for money I've experienced. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen has space for 2 people at the same time, and is well equipped. There is a private, separate braai area with a beautiful view, and the owners go out of their way to lure the bird life. They are very pleasant people who go through a lot to make their customers as comfortable as possible. There is a lock up garage that brings peace of mind at night. Judy and Johan, I wouldn't even think twice to book with you guys again in the future. Would gladly recommend others to you. Thank you.
