We were quite surprised to discover that the Cottage is not one cottage. The pictures don't tell the whole story. The room with the en suite is separate - passage via a covered deck. The room with the 2 beds is just that - a room with a door out onto the same covered deck. The third part of the cottage consists of the living area with kitchenette/dining area, bathroom and another room. The three parts are completely separated from each other. Not only are all the doors hopelessly too low to fall within building regulations (there was a head banged very hard against a door frame), but the section in which the kitchen is feels like it is starting to lean more and more over time! We were worried that the microwave might slide off the fridge because of this. The kitchen is well equipped, but is extremely small and has practically no work space. You can't work at the spacious kitchen table either, because he's a bit lame. The chairs are not suitable for heavier people. The living area was neat and comfortable, as was the deck and its furniture. The small bathroom that the 2 rooms have to share makes you feel like you are showering in a closet! Shower head way too low, but at least gives very good water pressure! The shower in the en-suite bathroom is in the bath and unfortunately provided dismal water pressure, causing a lot of water not to stay inside the bath. The water pressure in both toilets was quite poor and caused many anxious moments that everything would not be flushed away. There was no hand soap in the smallest bathroom. Unfortunately, the room with the 2 single beds does not work to push against each other for another couple - the 2 beds are different and one mattress is nice and firm, but the other one is soft. The water pump (which takes care of the water pressure) is also right outside this room's window, so forget about a peaceful night's sleep if your other housemates might use a tap or toilet at night. Clean towels (including 2 swimming towels) were provided, as well as additional blankets and even hot water bottles. The beds were neatly covered with clean linen. There was enough hot water for everyone to shower. An additional drying cloth would have been welcome in the kitchen (unless we overlooked it). There was enough crockery of a neat quality, but the teaspoons were perhaps a bit small. The view and tranquility were incredible, and we were even visited by 2 rabbits. Despite all the shortcomings we still had a very nice stay.

I just want to make a suggestion that you think about making the entrance to the cottage wheelchair friendly if possible. I have already indicated that I want to book the house again next year for the same event that is presented at Pine Creek.

Ideally situated to enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. The unit is fully equipped for a very nice 'glamping' experience. Ina makes a lot of effort for her guests, the cold wine and chocolate was a very nice treat. Would highly recommend this cottage to people who enjoy fishing and nature. Only negative was deafening music from across the river on Saturday night.

Now that was an unexpected piece of paradise! Just the view alone was enough. We were received very kindly (clearly someone who is very proud of their place), everything was very clean and the facilities were excellent. Would love to upload some of our photos, the photos on the website do the cottage and surroundings no favours! Can highly recommend Kingfisher Cottage - nice family place. Definitely going back again. Thank you very much Ina for a lovely visit, it was far too short!

The reception was friendly and helpful. Group of youngsters that joined us for the weekend, house was well equipped and neat. It's in a beautiful area, even fishing from the deck. Ideal for a breakaway weekend, will definitely use again.
