It was nice to be able to rest and enjoy nature as a family, because they come from England and have never seen the animals.
The house is homely. The setup is in such an order that the owner knows the environment. The animals know the house and the feeding setup is great. Everything one needs for a weekend away was available with added touch of knowing what people mostly forget. Very spacious although we were mostly outside admiring nature. Perfectly positioned close to all you need yet far enough for peace of mind. Will definitely be viaiting continuously.
We had the time of our lives, and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the bush!
It is a neat and comfortable place with very good and complete equipment. Has a luxurious look with everything needed to make our visit pleasant. Really highly recommend.
The cottage is well laid out. You have a good view outside to see all the animals while you are inside the cottage.

Wooden chests of drawers in the kitchen are problematic - drawers get stuck. The electrical extension cord behind the fridge is dead - I can't plug anything extra into it.
1. The Key/ Breakage Deposit requirement needs to be clearer. The amount and bank details of recipient needs to be included on an official statement issued to the client. Please remember that not all clients have access to mobile data on their phones and there is no Wi-fi offered / available at the unit for payment. 2. The electrical safety is a major concern in the unit. • Not all the wall plugs above the small hot plate stove combination worked. • There is a cotton curtain that hangs over this stove, behind the fridge and also the wall plugs. This is a major fire hazard especially with the hot plate and the food grease that has potentially splashed onto the curtain. 3. Water conservation needs attention. Taps drip, water leaks onto the wooden countertop at the sink. Potential to harvest ‘grey water’ for use in vegetation regeneration. 4. General standard of cupboards needs to be improved. Pot draw cupboard does not open and close properly, there are aluminium pots with holes in the bottom of them which when used leaked water all over the hot plate stove, caused lights to trip.
We really enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the animals around us so much. The gas was almost done but replaced immediately with great service.

Small house looks like a small house as its name suggests, but it is much more when you walk through the door. It's as cozy as you want, it feels cozy inside and you can just feel and see that this place is for family time, relax and just forget about everything. As the one note says, all technological devices should be put in case, because there is a conversation. Everything one could need is there. It's nice and clean and the owners make an effort from day 1 to make you feel welcome. I would recommend anyone to book with Klein Huisie. I will definitely go again and again. Thank you very much again.

Another toilet would be appropriate for a 6 bed cottage. Otherwise we really enjoyed it, thank you very much.

We and the children enjoyed it a lot, especially feeding the animals. Would definitely recommend and go again. Only problem I have experienced is the branches where you drive in, they scratch the car's roof trim please. not everyone has small cars.

It was very nice. Received excellent communication from owners. Many animals that come to visit the house. Safe environment and love that the place has an alarm it makes a person feel so reassured that everything is safe when we went driving around that day. We don't have children but would definitely recommend to people who do. I think the children will enjoy digging holes themselves. Thank you very much for everything.
Overall no complaints. We did find the accommodation to be very dark inside. Even with the lights turned on it was hard to see. Portable LED lights were provided, however they serve more of a spotlight solution. A few more light fittings will be money well spent. Especially bathroom. When a problem was reported, the service was prompt and professional. Really enjoyed the lapa area too.

The owners of Klein Huisie were very helpful and friendly. Never felt like we were missing anything. Only small thing I will mention is that there were no outdoor lights at the braai area and made it difficult to hang out outside in the evening. Other than that it was a lovely time and a very nice place to stay.
We really enjoyed our visit to Klein Huisie, and also enjoyed the animals' visits very much.
Nice stay in the Little House!
The house needs two new mattresses and all new pillows.
Not as a criticism, but if you want 4 adults to stay there I might look into the possibility of separating toilet and shower facilities. At that stage if someone takes a shower you cannot use the toilet. Just advice.
Cottage has the basic necessities and air conditioning needed in the heat. The braai area is comfortable and nice and cool. The animals come for visits right through the day and even at night when you barbecue, which is a wonderful experience. Only thing that bothers is the fact that Swarwitpens is a very busy street so the traffic sometimes bothers especially with the builders. Furthermore, it is peaceful and quiet.

KleinHuisie is a lovely rondavel, as if hidden from others. Very interesting and ingenious building. Everything needed is available! Heinrich is an able host and made sure our stay was top notch. The domesticated wild animals are truly a privilege to experience.
It's the best getaway ever, especially when you're tired and worn out and to sit and watch the sunset at the lookouts.

Had a great time and drove around between forest and animals. Roads were washed away due to thankful rain and the Crocodile River is in flood but still deliciously "bundubash". Thanks for the nice and cool house after a sweltering hot day. Braai area is a winner.

Heinrich is a good host who keeps you updated via WhatsApp about the weather forecast and animals at lookouts. You can definitely take grandpa and grandma with you, because there are handrails at the toilet, shower and bath for their comfort. There is plenty of hanging space for your towels and even solar lights for power outages. The lapa is a man's dream with light that shines beautifully on the braai. Many animals come to visit when the street's traffic slows down, zebras, blue wildebeest, kudus and birds eat from the wall, grebes, warthogs, night monkeys and giraffes also drop by.
It was very nice, just a pity the Jacuzzi cannot be heated.
We arrived to no power, or water, and that was the start of a bad week for us, and in fact due to these problems we left 2 days earlier than booked for. We only got water on the Wednesday evening. There was no utensils to cart water and this we had to do from Sunday till Wednesday, making it a unpleasant stay. I would have thought that the owners would have made available at least a bucket for such eventualities (which I'm sure have happened before).

Klein Huisie was the perfect place in which to exchange the suburban rat race for a wonderful few days in the bush. We so enjoyed our stay! The interaction with the animals was very special. We will definitely visit this cosy home again.

We really enjoyed the stay, although the house is small, as the name suggests, everything we needed was there. The place was clean, tidy and comfortable for 4 adults. We really enjoyed the lapa with jacuzzi in the bushveld heat, and it is a bonus that the braai place is also under roof. We hung out more outside than inside. The animals came to say hello, and nightcaps were our favorite.
However, I would recommend that the spare room gets two beds and not a double bed. It is actually only suitable for 3 couples as it only has double beds in it. The cutlery is neat and whole. Everything was very clean and tidy. The pans deserve some attention if one might not want to fry.
Heinrich was very involved, kept us up to date with what and where the lions were.
It was not explained where all the switches were. Doused in cold water all weekend. The power was also off for 5 hours without us being notified. Furthermore, the break was nice. The owner is very nice.
Small house is well equipped for a family. Very neat and clean. Definitely value for money. Every day was exciting with all the animals that came to visit. My little girl enjoyed the bush-babies a lot. Will visit again.

Klein Huisie is a beautiful and peaceful place for a nice break. The braai and Jacuzzi area are under roof which ensures that you can have a good time even if it rains. The house is very neat and nicely equipped, it feels as comfortable as your own house, just not at home. We had a fantastic weekend and rested wonderfully. The warthog came to greet us upon our arrival, kudu cows and calf stood by the feed bowl. Duiker also dropped by and the night monkeys enjoyed the banana. Lovely stay in the little house.
Klein Huisie is a peaceful place where we have experienced the wildlife very close to us. Because it is so dry, we put out lucerne and wild goat pellets and the wildlife came to the place to eat and drink water. It was a bonus indeed. Pumba, the warthog ate so well that he just decided to sleep right there at our place. We sat in wait every night to see the night monkeys eating bananas. They were there every night just after sunset. It has been so special because we have never experienced it. It was very hot and the Jacuzzi was a welcome treat.
Animals are very tame and place is very nice to stay in.

The place was neat and clean, with everything needed for self-catering accommodation. The lapa is comfortable and offers the opportunity to view the birds and animals found here. The owner was very helpful and friendly during our visit. We saw a lot of wildlife from the lapa such as kudus, warthogs, ibex and divers. We will come here again. The house next door's noisy fountain on the porch was a slight annoyance.
The cleanliness and beauty of the small house was excellent, if there is everything you need in the house. Easy to find and excellent location. Will definitely book again at Klein Huisie.
One negative was that both bedrooms sheets and pillowcases were not washed as pillowcases were full of gray hair and grease stains and small black bugs. We were full of bites the next morning. On top of that, we had a great time. Will definitely go again, but will only bring own bedding.

Plek was baie netjies maar die uitleg en ligging was nie vir my wow nie. Die Jacuzzi het dooie insekte ingehad en die water was melkerig en nie helder skoon nie. Braai-area was groot genoeg, maar was op die grondpad geleë, met uitsig op die pad en die bure se voordeur. Die uitsig op die bos agter die huisie is met hout toegemaak, is dit nie hoekom ons Marloth toe gaan om die bos te geniet nie? Die huisie self was baie gemaklik.
