The Klein Nektar Wine & Olive Estate is a picturesque manor home built in 1860 and is located in Montagu. This beautiful Cape Dutch dwelling was one of two heritage houses with a cellar, forming an integral part of the main house. Situated along the very popular Route 62, this 3-hectare farm dwelling is surrounded by the majestic Langeberg mountains and is a favourite amongst many foreign and local visitors.

The lounge is fitted with DStv and Netflix. The large kitchen is fitted with a traditional AGA stove, a gas stove, a fridge-freezer, a microwave, crockery and cutlery. We stayed for the second time. Last time we were in the cottage. This time in the beautiful old manor house. Both are well worth it. Very well kept small farm in the middle of Montagu. Vineyards, olive trees and citrus on the farm. Chickens provide lots of delicious eggs. The manor house is fully equipped. Beds are very comfortable. Slept like a log. The fireplace is very effective to warm the main living area on those cold winter nights. Lots of hiking in the mountains. Braai area works well. The pool was a bit cold in July, but will be great in summer. The manager is very friendly and helpful and always available.
The cottage is beautifully appointed, and perfectly located on a vine and olive farm in the heart of Montagu. It's private and secluded with a wrap-around terrace with a hammock and multiple seating arrangements. The self-catering requirements of a decent stove and fridge and pots and pans were well met. We had peace and tranquillity. I recommend this lovely space to everyone who travels to Montagu.
We had a great time relaxing and being very romantic and private. Walking distance from restaurants. We could pick our own fruit and vegetables on the premises, pure farm.
Very nice and friendly accommodation in a beautiful olive grove. Just think the fact that they are located far away is important to know. Gas and battery operated, was lovely, until I had to blow dry my hair. Otherwise it was good value.
Only downside is the fact that there is gas geyser and stove does not mean there is no electricity and power points. Normal in homes these days for gas appliances. Should perhaps be mentioned in information of the place: no electricity.

Such a wonderful experience to stay on the Nectar wine and olive estate, its in the centre of Montagu, perfect to explore the small town from there by foot. Tranquil escape with a well-stocked cottage with everything that's needed for a wonderful weekend away. Honesty shop with delicious olives and jams also available.
Comfortable accommodation, with the lack of electricity no problem for a stopover. Possibly some would find the absence of electric light in particular a drawback for longer stays. Excellent location and safety and friendly hosts. Highly recommended overall.
The location, the charm, the off-the-grid ethic, the oversized porch are all an absolute fantasy. If I could only include one additional aspect it would be to include some innovative form of a body of water as Montagu gets so terribly hot. Something just big enough for 4 guests to sit in and cool off. An old horse trough, a small cement pond. Even just a ditch with running water to cool the feet in.

The first night of our wonderful 5 day road trip along Route 62 was spent at Klein Nektar Farm Cottage. The Cottage is simple, homely, spacious, very comfortable, well equipped and set in awesome surroundings. The welcome you receive on arrival makes you feel at home immediately and there are many included little extras which indicate that guest comfort and satisfaction are really important to the owners. It is for very good reason that there is such a high occupancy level, so don't leave your Klein Nektar booking too late if you're heading in the direction of Montagu.

Klein Nektar exceeded all our expectations! In advance, Klein Nektar made the effort to inform us of roadworks right in front of the farm. Vernon kindly received us in the street to make sure we didn't miss the turn that was temporarily blocked due to the roadworks. The cottage was beautiful and it's wonderful to experience the farm atmosphere. Even better is that everything in Montagu's town is within walking distance of Klein Nektar.
Beautiful location, very private as there is only the one cottage and we felt as if we had the whole farm to ourselves. Vernon and Kai were both exceptionally helpful and friendly and there were so many little extra touches that made our stay special. We will definitely visit again.

Lovely, romantic cottage in the heart of Montagu surrounded by sheep and olive groves. The farm manager, Vernon, is very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. A misunderstanding caused a bit of discomfort with owner, and unfortunately it wasn't handled very well. Otherwise a beautiful place and ideal for a getaway from the city.
I'll definitely go again. Was thrown a bit off guard with no electricity, but gas equipment and lamps were all there. Kai, Ian and Vernon are lovely people.
