It was like staying on a farm, wonderful.
We had a nice stay. The host received us very kindly and is a "tour guide". In Augrabies one must stay more than one night for sure if you want to experience all the interesting things he passed on.

For the traveler who does not mind animals and dogs around the accommodation. The shower needs attention as the faucet and shower head are placed in opposite positions and is a challenge. The accommodation should post pictures of the bathroom on the website.
Nice stay, but I would recommend that they get a mat for the shower floor - it's incredibly slippery. And please also mosquito repellent - the mosquitoes almost carried us away!
We had a nice stay, except that the toilet didn't work properly and the boiler was broken. A rooster crowed us awake at 3 o'clock in the night. I know it's a farm, but 3 hours is a bit early.
We got there late at night, and the shops were far and the ones that were open were too far. It was also load shedding. However, we were treated to a tray full of cookies, rusks, coffee and grapes. My first birthday message was also from the owners. Definitely a nice place to stay, close to the falls and quiet area.
Wonderful host, Salmon. The accommodation and facilities are basic, but it is conveniently only 3km from the Falls and Park. There is a good restaurant in the hotel next door.

Our stay at Kleinbegin Augrabies was nice. It was more rustic than we were expecting, so I didn't bring along everything I needed for the stay. We were a family of 6 using 3 of the units, and not every unit had enough bowls, or plates, or a kettle, but we could borrow and return from other units. The whole area around Augrabies is remote, and one needs to be prepared for that. Pack like you would for camping. I didn't realise the bathroom was basically a "shower room" as well, but it had good ventilation. No aircon if that is important to you.
Perhaps there could be more detergents available, but otherwise the beds sleep very well.

Salmon sends information in advance that clearly spells out what is on offer, as well as information regarding places that can be visited, which one will not necessarily find on Google Maps. Salmon and Elna are an excellent host and hostess. You immediately feel at home, and they go out of their way to make sure that you are comfortable and that everything is right. They are also eager to help, if you need something that is not available as standard. Kleinbegin is the ideal stopover if you are on your way to Namibia, or it can be used as a base to visit all the attractions in the area. It has an excellent central location. Their price is excellent, and value for money.
Neat and clean! Very hospitable and really make an effort for their guests. January heat is severe and owner may consider roof fans, but the regular fans helped a lot. I can recommend Kleinbegin with great confidence!

Very friendly reception by human-oriented host and hostess. An atmosphere where you can relax and have fun together. It's on the doorstep of the Augrabian Falls, but out of the way of the hordes. We will definitely stay here again.

I read reviews beforehand and got exactly what I expected. An extra is the WhatsApp message that Salmon sends on the day we arrived for information regarding attractions in the area. It helped us tremendously.
I can highly recommend Kleinbegin Augrabies. My reservation was barely made, then I got confirmation from the owner with information and phone numbers of attractions in the area. On the way we decided to go to Riemvasmaak first and I contacted the owner to find the best route, he immediately shared the necessary information with us and made recommendations. Upon our arrival we were welcomed and the unit was ready and very clean and tidy. Everything perfect for our overnight stay there. The owner is hospitable and goes the extra mile for his guests. The unit is barely 3 km from the entrance to the Augrabies National park which makes it very convenient. It is also in a peaceful and safe environment.
We were very kindly received by Elna and Salmon. Plekkie offers very small basic accommodation to guests. It is clean and only 3km from Augrabies Falls. There is an open shower which makes it wheelchair friendly. Elna and Salmon went out of their way to help us with bedding that was left behind and ensure we received it, their service and friendliness is second to none. They also give good information about what to see and do in the area.
Will remember Kleinbegin Augrabies for a long time. Good service, clean, friendly owners. Room can get very hot in summer. Only two small fans available. Bigger fans will make a difference. There was no broom to sweep unity.

Rooms are not up to standard at all.
Sink in bathroom was dirty and faucet not polished shiny. Bathroom badly needs upgrading. No attention is paid to detail. Just wanted a place to sleep, but mistakenly booked there.

Salmon and Elna are incredibly friendly, and quickly make you feel at home with genuine Karoo hospitality. The accommodation is clean, tidy, and equipped with everything one needs for a nice braai on a fresh Augrabies evening. It is very central and you can easily walk around for dinner or a cocktail at the restaurant next door, buy what you need at the shop just outside their gate, and is just a stone's throw away from the Valle's gate! Feel free to stay here on your tour to Augrabies.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and the people received us very kindly. It was a problem because we didn't know that all three of us had to sleep in one room and it would be a bit awkward, but luckily there was another room open where I could sleep separately from the married couple! It is also very basic, no TV, no coffee, tea, sugar or milk. I feel it should be in the rooms. Otherwise, no other complaints.
We felt safe with the dogs keeping watch and our little boy really enjoyed their hedgehogs.

We enjoyed the place, our group almost took over the house. Only small problem was the shower head that sprays everywhere. Visit the hotel next door for the tastiest Pizza.

On arrival we had to call and say we had arrived. There was no sugar or coffee, had to call for that. No rusk or any soap. The rooms were excruciatingly hot, no air conditioning. No apology was offered with shortages, the cleaner was sent. No mosquito sprays either.
Very basic overnight accommodation. Rooms are clean and comfortable. No coffee, milk, sugar, bath soap is provided. Not ideal for pets. The guests' animals are not separated from the farm animals and this can be stressful.
Cement floors and cement walls. No floor mats. No heating. Comfortable beds, but not enough blankets and duvets.

We stayed over for 2 nights to visit the Augrabies National Park. In the past we always slept in the park's chalets, but their inflated overnight fees made me look for alternative accommodation. Kleinbegin is definitely the ideal place for that. It's so close to the park's gate. Salmon welcomes you in a friendly manner and you immediately feel at home. They will see us again in the future for sure.

The only and last choice.
We were warmly welcomed with good suggestions by Uncle Salmon about what to do at the falls. The room is clean, tidy and well equipped for a night or three sleepover. One of the few places where there are enough wall plugs to charge everything for the next day (the bedside cell phone charging points were especially cute).

Salmon is truly the best host ever and went out of his way to ensure my daughter and I's comfort and his tips for sightseeing routes made our stay an unforgettable experience. The units are spacious with all the facilities one needs for self-catering, as well as a delicious braai area. A special bonus was the friendly two Great Dane bodyguards who grilled with us to make sure we were safe. And the two loving sausages who came in curiously, almost took us home with us! There are beautiful aloes, succulents and cacti that take your breath away. Kleinbegin is definitely marked as my favorite choice in those regions!

We spent one night at Kleinbegin Augrabies on our way to Cape Town. We really didn't expect the accommodation to be as awesome as it was. Salmon is passionate about the Augrabies area and is a wealth of knowledge. He was kind enough to advise us to take a look at the falls at night which we were delighted about. Kleinbegin Augrabies is a couple of kilometres to the falls so ideal if visiting there. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the dogs, especially Jabu was the cherry on the top. Kleinbegin Augrabies is a very simple yet satisfactory place to stay over for any short journey. As long distance driving takes a toll on a person, the peaceful nature surrounding Kleinbegin and the reception received on arrival totally relaxed us. Was very kindly received by owner. The man is slowly but surely making the place better and better. Air conditioning and a pool are on his to do list when his ship comes in, but we hope Kleinbegin only goes from strength to strength. Also maybe consider a small shop on site.
The owners are very hospitable and friendly. We felt at home and enjoyed the stay.
The friendliest host. Everything needed is there. We were also treated to a free bag of oranges. Will stay there again for sure. A very cool idea with the plug to recharge your mobile phone.

Salmon helped us right away, even though we were there earlier than planned. He showed us our room and also helped us unload our luggage himself. It made us feel right at home. The room is very basic and looks like there is still finishing work being done.
Friendly welcome from our host and a delicious dinner is included.
The rooms are compact, but well equipped, there is enough fire wood to make a fire.
We found the accommodation pleasant. It's ideal for travellers visiting the falls as well as for overnight stays. Arrived very late and it was no problem!

Very pleasant accommodation. I realise the place is very new, just needs some shade, trees oor something the links at the west side. Otherwise it's excellent!

Conveniently close to Augrabies. Both the owner and his partner have a lot of knowledge of the area and are more than willing to come up with with ideas for sightseeing and activities in die area.
Salmon is a dignified gentleman and made an effort to make us feel at home. I would recommend Kleinbegin to any person who wants to stay at Augrabies.
I took part in the Trans Augrabies mountain bike race and lived at Kleinbegin for 4 nights. It is located 3 km from the Aurgrabies National Park, which suited me well. The room I stayed in was very clean and had everything I needed. The host was really friendly and helpful. I will stop by again when I am in that beautiful part of our country.
Maybe I misunderstood, but I was under the impression that it was 9km outside of Kakamas, but the additional 10km is a pleasant drive on a good road, so it wasn't really a problem.
The accommodation was cozy and nice braai facilities.
We were comfortable and the hospitality was very good. The place is very clean and free from noise or any other disturbances. Kleinbegin is very close to the Falls and the owner/caretaker and his family were extremely polite and helpful.

The accommodation comprises 5, comfortable, double bedrooms which are tastefully renovated storage rooms of an old general dealer. Each bedroom has its own, en suite bathroom fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. It also well equipped for self-catering.
The guest house is near (3 km) the Augrabies National Park with the mighty Augrabies Waterfall. This is also the ideal spot for guests coming to admire the Namaqualand wildflower season.
