It was wonderful to stay at Kleinbegin Olienhout. It's incredibly good value for money. Spacious and clean. Good mattresses that ensure a good night's rest. The owners were friendly and ensured that everything worked. The Kalahari Mall is probably 1 km from there, which is nice for some last minute shopping.

The place is advertised as having two rooms. The actual room is a drywall partitioning which is not going all the way up to the ceiling. So, it is semi-private, even when traveling with your wife or partner. There are also electrical connections and the way the lights system works. I would suggest that the host rewires the place. All the wall plugs cannot be used at the same time. There is also the challenge of how the water must be used. If you do not know how to use the shower, the hot water could burn you, which almost happened to me.

Comfortable accommodation for up to 5 adults in a compact apartment with 3 beds in a small bedroom and two beds in the open plan living area which has a wooden bench and two comfortable chairs. All that is needed is an ottoman or two to be able to lift one's feet after a long day on the N14. Conveniently located for an overnight stay on the way from Gauteng to Namaqualand or the Kalahari. The bath shower needs some work, because it is very difficult to get the water temperature right and it goes from blazing hot to cold or vice versa in the blink of an eye. However, we were warned that the gas is almost finished and we should let her know if the water doesn't want to get hot, so that she can replace the gas bottle, but my bad luck ensured that the gas and therefore hot water ran out mid-shower.

Good place to stay if you are traveling. Just palisade fencing, but with sharp exterior light on cars. Light bothers a little because rooms inside are also lit. Some of the beds are no longer in good condition. Must get attention.
The apartment was spacious but unfortunately it was a bit dirty - marks on the walls and curtains, dust etc. We also couldn't use the boiler at all because it was full of what looked like very large iron flakes. The shower was also a problem. We were warned in a book that the water is very hot but the problem is that the water is either so terribly hot that you literally burn, or it is freezing cold. It is very difficult to control. Furthermore, we only got up at 5 o'clock because the neighbor's dog barked non-stop from 4 o'clock. I realize it's not the owner's fault but take that into account if you plan to drive far after staying at the apartment - you may not sleep very well. I am now listing all the negative things but at least they are small things and I don't think it is a bad place to spend the night. I just don't think we will stay there again.

Die lugverkoeler het deur die dag goed gewerk, maar op gervries en later het dit glad nie gewerk nie. Dit was baie bedompig in Upington en sonder die lugversorger wat ophou werk het, was die kamer baie warm en bedompig en die muskiete is baie erg. Hulle moet na die lugverkoeler kyk dat dit deurentyd werk en nie opvries nie.

We had a very nice overnight stay. Unit is wheelchair friendly except for the stairs to the bathroom, yet bathroom is very spacious for wheelchair with a lovely bath. Paraplegic cannot use the shower, yet my husband was able to use the bath easily. The unit sleeps 4 people and is very spacious. Definitely value for money! We will definitely stay there again.

It is an ideal overnight stop. The reception was friendly, everything in and around the place is very neat and clean. Should we spend the night in Upingtong again, it will without a doubt be at Kleinbegin again.

Kleinbegin Guest Unit is a comfortable, basic unit (small apartment) with a kitchenette and sitting area with a bunk bed and separate bedroom with two single beds and a comfortable bathroom. I stayed over for one night on my Namaqualand and West Coast trip and for that purpose the place was adequate. It was a convenient "one night stopover" destination.
