31 guests' feedbackThe Farm Kleine Windpompie was one of the nicest places we stayed this year. This is the cutest place where we could walk around. You can just relax. The host and hostess were so lovely and brought us wood and forwarded us with all information about the town. The place is clean and tidy. There are big towels (which is so nice for us), enough water pressure and hot water and solar power without a problem. Most beautiful landscape - I took the most beautiful photos. It is a must to visit there.
Area was very well located, houses neat and well furnished. It was very peaceful and relaxing. All the places are private and you can be on your own. Met our needs for the weekend away. Will go and relax there again, thank you very much.
It was very nice and peaceful. It's even more beautiful than in the photos. The host and hostess are friendly and helpful. I can't wait to visit again. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Absolutely worth it! The place has breathtaking views that you won't see anywhere else. Romantic cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway. Route 62 and Barrydale are beautiful themselves.
Owners are very helpful. Excellent location.
Would love to have contact with the owner because he is an ex-Dutchman and we also come from Holland.
Great communication regarding location and access codes. I really appreciated the updates regarding trading hours of nearby restaurants and shops. The view from the accommodation is incredible! And the visit from sheep and local doggo made it feel like a real holiday. All in all a must-visit. Such a safe and beautiful farm to explore.
We really enjoyed the privacy and tranquility. The "sit down pool" was obviously a winner in the heat of summer. The stay is very basic and exactly what we kissed. The solar power was more than sufficient and it was nice to get by with just the basics. Great stay!
We had a great time on the farm. It is a very peaceful environment. Close to town but far enough to rest. And we rested well.
The cottage is excellently located with a very nice view. The bath with the fireplace creates a romantic atmosphere. Sarah went the extra mile (balloons and pre-packaged wood) to make it special for my husband's birthday. Definitely a place to recommend for a cold winter evening or just a nice romantic getaway.
The location is very beautiful all around. The cottage can definitely improve. The water pressure is very weak, which causes the shower to not work well at all, the water is only lukewarm. The work space and dining table are very cramped. Four people will not be able to work at all (2 people struggle with space). The price does not justify the accommodation offered.
We found the hosts very friendly and accommodating and felt comfortable and safe. The amenities were generous, indoor and outdoor braai plus heated pool on the deck were special features. We will certainly return, perfect for a two night break from the city with Barrydale nearby.
Robert and Sarah are wonderful hosts and the accommodation is simple, but clean and functional.
Small windmill is very special, something a little different and equipped with everything you need. Beautiful view and quiet. It was great to be able to switch off here! Customer service is great!
My husband and I were there for our wedding anniversary and it was perfect. Far away from the busy city and noise. Will be going again soon, all thanks to coach Conroy and the owners of Kleine Windpompie. Thank you very much again. We almost didn't want to go home.
Perfect weekend getaway will definitely be back!
We enjoyed the silence on the farm - everything needed for 2 and very tidy. Sarah and Robert are friendly and happy to help. We will definitely visit again!
The hostess went out of her way to make it very special and romantic.
Bitterly calm. Love the farm life, the woofies are very cute and the crazy black springbok was cute.
We loved the fresh air, quiet scenery and spectacular views. But the farm animals really added a lovely, welcoming homely feel to the place.
The hospitality, environment and walking routes meet in every respect what we were looking forward to.
My husband and I had an amazing time at Kleine Windpompie! The farm is extremely beautiful and we were in love with all the animals - the sheep, the dogs, the goats, etc. The place is extremely romantic and we gazed at the stars. It was breathtaking! Sarah and Robert were extremely hospitable and always friendly and gave us recommendations for places to visit in the town as well as a waterfall where you can have a picnic. The waterfall was lovely! I would definitely recommend it to anyone and would say that two nights or more would be ideal to fully enjoy the cottage as well as Barrydale itself.
Perfect switch off spot.
This was the highlight of our Route 62 trip! Would recommend it over and over again! Very neat, nicest bath with a view. Thank you very much Robert and Sarah for your hospitality and this wonderful place, we will see you again very soon!
We only stayed one night at Kleine Windpompie. It was too short and we will stay longer next time. The accommodation consists of a compact open-plan cottage situated on a slope with a beautiful view of the farm and mountains. The accommodation is located a few kilometers outside Barrydale on a sheep farm, close enough to drive there if you forgot something. The cottage has a kitchen with a gas stove, large fridge, crockery such as plates, glasses, cutlery. Coffee, tea, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided. The hostess provided 2 large containers of drinking water as the water from the taps is borehole water. The bed was a double bed with extra blankets for the cold evenings. The shower, toilet and sink are en suite. There is a large closet where you can store your bags and other luggage so you have more space to move around. There was also doom and a portable light should you need it. Outside your bedroom you walk out onto a large covered deck. There was a fireplace, braai drum and a hot tub. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. You can buy fireplace wood and braai wood directly from the hostess. Due to the drought and the lack of water that the farmers have, we ourselves decided not to use the hot tub. I hope we can use it on our next visit. It started to rain lightly and we were wonderfully warm in front of our fireplace and could barbecue without getting wet. There is also an outdoor firepit if you would prefer hey to grill outdoors. We were lucky to be able to see the rainbow after the short rain. What a privilege it was to see the full moon rise in front of us as well as being able to see the stars later. There is no TV or WiFi, this gives you the opportunity to enjoy nature as well as to be able to chat with each other and just be calm. There is mobile phone reception and if you have data you can use your mobile phone with good reception. Robert and Sarah were very nice and helpful, and respected your privacy. You could walk around the farm, look at the sheep. There was also a tame kid and 2 friendly dogs. The view was beautiful from your cottage with a balcony all around, so you can admire the scenery all the time. We can recommend Kleine Windpompie for an exceptional and unique experience.
It's the most beautiful place to just relax and enjoy farm life and silence with the friendliest people, children will also enjoy it a lot with the animals that walk around and very safe!
Would recommend anyone to experience it and enjoy the farm. Very neat and clean and located in a peaceful area. Thank you Sarah. Will see you again.
True rest and refreshment close to nature.
Host and hostess very friendly, most beautiful routes and natural beauty.
Everything you need is there, even 2 bicycles if you would like to explore the farm.
It was quiet and peaceful. The cottage was small but was incredibly well furnished. The reception was very friendly and we felt very welcome. We really couldn't find any fault. I would really recommend the place.
See stars.
