Although this accommodation is not really a stay over, you should stay here for a number of nights. Really beautiful amongst the hills. Our stay was comfortable.
The owner of the farm is very friendly and welcoming. The facilities are more than what we expected. The camp areas are between rocks and at the side of the mountain. A beautiful place to visit.

Very friendly welcome. The Berg Kaia cottage had everything we expected / needed. It is alone and totally isolated in the mountain. Got good nature information from Nico about unique fynbos flowers on the farm. Couldn't pick up any Vodacom network on the farm, there is MTN. (WiFi is available at the farmstead and the other houses nearby).

Kleinfontein is located in the middle of the Cedar Mountains. It is quiet and the farm atmosphere lends itself to complete calm and tranquility. We made it our base to explore the Cedar Mountains and plan to do so again.

We camped here for two nights, while the flowers were blooming and it was freezing at night, and we loved it! It is beautiful, very quiet and peaceful, amazing scenery - especially with the flowers around the tent, very clean ablutions, and convenient that there was a kettle in the kitchen. The camping spots are quite private as well. We also enjoyed a walk around the property. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. Would love to stay here again!

The housing is simple but neat. The beds are lovely. And the nature in this world is impressive. For us, the mountains of the Pakhuispass world were more beautiful than in the Cederberge around Algeria. And the owners are very friendly and helpful.

Kleinfontein is a wonderful experience if you really love nature and specifically the Sederberg area. The scenery is wonderful and there are plenty of hiking challenges and bouldering opportunities. The tent I slept in was very well equipped. Sleeping facilities and bathroom are clean and tidy. No electricity, only gas. No hair dryers. Nico is an excellent host.

This was our first flower viewing adventure! With two small pieces in the car, we could only look at Namaqualand's floral splendor along the way and even that was still beautiful! A further plus point was the road back over the mountain that we used to drive to Kleinfontein - an alternative route thanks to the road being closed for a bike race. Marietjie made an effort to e-mail us the road and for us this dirt road behind the mountain was something to experience! Landing with two tired toddlers and then experiencing the friendly, hospitable Grobbelaars was an experience. Nico even gave us a "hop-on hop-off" experience in the back of his bakkie and we were able to see the nesting place of white-cross eagles, see fields with newly planted rooibos tea, the two little ones could sit with tadpoles in the water pools , we saw Bushman drawings. What more could one ask for from a visit to the Hantam? We slept in the tent house and in the mountain kaya - neat places with everything and more than you need. After this we understand Louis Leipoldt's love for the dear, nice Hantam ward!
I really enjoyed my stay in the mountain kaya. It's completely safe, and wonderfully secluded in the sense that it's just you and nature - peaceful and beautiful. Nico and Marietjie are very hospitable and helpful. The mountain kaya does not have WiFi (part of tranquility), but with the other cottages even the convenience is included.
The Kleinfontein khaya is the ideal place where you leave all your electronic/electrical equipment at home and just let nature recharge your batteries. The nature is breathtaking (mountain formations) and the hiking trails wonderful. Leave your music at home. Nature makes its own music here.

We stayed in Berg-Kaya for 3 nights. The little house stands on its own, away from the other houses between a mountain and a hill. The cottage is perfect for 2 people. There is a fireplace to keep you warm and a braai area outside. The fridge and hot water work with gas and the lights work with solar power. Your water comes from the mountain. Completely off the grid and very peaceful. The farm is large and one can have a nice walk. We will be back again. Very friendly host and hostess.
This was our first camping and I was quite scared, but all my expectations were exceeded. The scenery is breathtaking. Nico was so friendly and helpful. The campsite was perfect and I was pleasantly surprised at the nice braai facilities. Would love to go back.

Our accommodation was the tent. The location is of such a nature that at that particular latitude and longitude I would also be perfectly happy under a shade tree, or in my car. The tent is a bonus. The reception and hospitality were further bonuses. The sun could not set or rise more beautifully elsewhere. We had a wonderful overnight stay. The accommodation was 100% what was marketed and met our expectations - the rest far exceeded our wildest expectations.

It was amazing fun, we as a family enjoyed it so much, it's away from shops, not a TV, just the best atmosphere ever. Nico and Marietjie do everything in their power to make it as pleasant and comfortable as possible. There is a lot to do in the area and if you like nature then this is the place for you. On the farm itself there are many hiking trails and even if you just walk around in front of the house. The accommodation is comfortable, everything is clean and tidy, there is everything you need. The braai place is incredibly beautiful and the perfect place to turn off the lights and stare at the stars, it's heavenly! We have 2 daughters 7 and 11 and they grow up surrounded by technology and "Disney Channels" and believe me when I say that they did not miss it, we were in and around the area all the time and took in everything that was beautiful that those things didn't matter. If you can just listen to the silence and nature then you realize how privileged you are to be able to be there. Nico and Marietjie everything that is beautiful you are awesome.

There were many birds to see, all day long, the nature in the area is breathtakingly beautiful and there were nice places to visit in the area. Would have liked to stay longer, time hopelessly caught up with us too quickly. It's nice and quiet and private at the safari tent. The chirping of the birds was all we wanted to hear. It was an absolutely delightful experience.

Beautiful hiking trails! Ideal breakaway. Rock formations breathtaking. There is WiFi in case you miss your TV too much. Everything provided that is needed in a kitchen, except for a microwave. 2 days is too short, so stay longer!
We were not comfortable without a dinning room table and chairs, no table at the braai, no vanity shelf in the bathroom and the cottage on the other side of the shared wall does not give you privacy.
The chalet could do with a microwave. The tent accommodation's bathroom is not inclement weather friendly. It is open and it was windy so we had to shower the next morning. Marietjie and Nico were very friendly and they only recently ventured into this project so we wish them well.
It was a great place to stay. The starry sky in the evening is so fantastic. Would highly recommend for cyclists, walkers and mountaineers. If you want to drive around the West Coast you have to remember that you have to drive over the pass every time.
