13 guests' feedbackIt was really very nice, it was quiet and the breakfast was 100%. The uncle told us about the history of the building and surroundings. 100% satisfied with the hospitality.
I received a different room than booked, so I was uncertain. However, the host and his wife were very welcoming, and I learned a lot from him and other guests about the current status. Quiet room and comfortable (older) bed. Some maintenance would be in order, but I understand the situation. A lovely old house and a nice location--in a town that has seen better times. I hope to visit again!

Kloofhuis Guesthouse is a beautiful, clean and lovely old fashioned feel. Tinus really enjoyed his stay.
Wonderful stay, wonderfully old world. Would recommend that the bedding and curtains be replaced quite urgently, it would make a big difference. Als was clean, but really old and showing the signs of the times.

An old world atmosphere complete with antique furniture and hospitality (even the mattress dates from the last century with springs that stab you in the back when you sleep on it). Very nice stay.
The place is always clean and tidy. It was the second time we stayed there and the house and the history around it is just breathtaking. Plank floors and old furniture throughout the house.
The grubby nature of the accommodation was a concern.
Despite a peaceful couple of nights spent at the guesthouse, my experience was crucially dampened by transparent blinds that inhibited security and privacy. The under spaced bathroom resulted in a couple of painful extremities that did not help the situation.
The fact that the house is old didn't bother us, but the room was stuffy, the bedding old and the pillows stained. The toilet space was really cramped. A slightly overweight person might struggle to use it. The coffee container was dirty and crusted with old coffee. The sugar jar was basically empty. It seemed that there was no effort to make guests feel at home. It's these little things that count. We found better accommodation not far from Kloofhuis for cheaper. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Kloofhuis.
