Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. We were 4 adults with 2 boats. Both boats are well equipped. The shower water was strong and hot and we could have a nice shower. Feels like a "house on the water". Everything you need was at hand. Thank you Knysna Houseboats.
Would definitely recommend going for at least 2 nights and make sure to take a braai with your boat!
Tip: Start your holiday with the house boats. It makes you completely cut off and relax. Owner is very friendly and involved (if needed).
We had a great stay!
Tranquility was fantastic.
An amazing experience but definitely not worth the amount you pay. The houseboat felt old and needed a lift. The curtains had mold on them, and the fridge broke, so the food got warm and spoiled. Also, fuel is not included in the fee, so that's an extra cost. In the end, the amount you pay is not worth it. Also, because you only get the houseboat quite late in the day, there's not much time to do a lot except find a spot for the evening, but you have to pay for a full day. If you got the boat earlier, it would be better. Also, it's very weather dependent. If you are lucky enough to have great weather, I'm sure it's amazing, but if you get wind, it's not very fun. You have to anchor and wait it out in rough conditions.
Two lovely, interesting days! Drove away with many new skills and insights. A few challenges on the water for "newbies", but also great fun and everything doable. The team is very professional and showed us the ropes beforehand. They also responded immediately and came to help when we had a problem with the gas tank on Day 2. The toilet and shower area is neat and slightly uncomfortable. Two people are perfect for such a boat but for me three or more people would be too cramped. Sunrise and sunset unforgettable and the night's sleep on top of the boat, under the stars with bird sounds as "background music", something I will remember for a long time.
A very nice experience.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Everyone was so helpful in making our trip amazing!
We had a lekker stay on the Knysna Houseboat. We really enjoyed our stay.
Knysna House boats are such a unique experience. We loved it so much! Top notch hospitality! We would definitely do it again. Things to keep in mind is, arrive early, you don't want to tides to prevent you from taking the boat to the other side of the bridge. Book two nights! Make use of the braai! Remember to book a kayak or tube and remember your power bank.
We enjoyed our stay. Bucket list item ticked. Mattresses and pillows need to be replaced The team that assisted us is a 5-star team. Thank you.
Fridge not working, then we found out the boat's batteries were not properly charged. Then had to move to another boat the next day. We were not compensated in any way for the time we lost on the boat nor for our inconvenience. Boats need urgent maintenance, there were major safety risk issues. The S/steel frame of the step with which one has to get out of the water or onto the boat was broken and could break at any moment if one stepped on it or climbed on it. The bed in the kitchen area was broken and collapsed when my daughters slept on the bed. My husband then had to come up with a plan to somehow hold the board in place so they at least had a place to sleep. The amount you pay is outrageous if you take into account that you literally only get the boat, you even have to pay extra for a towel. There is a porta-potty on the boat, and it is not even filled correctly. The water tank was not even half full. They advertise there is a hot shower on board, but it doesn't even work properly. The staff is very friendly and received us very well. But I wouldn't recommend them, you don't get what you're sold.
When you arrive all your luggage is carried to the boat for you. The orientation was thorough. Vehicles safely covered overnight.
Very professional service, and truly an experience to remember! Even if you've never driven a boat before, they teach you everything you need to know in an hour and then you're good to go!
Boat was very clean and tidy. Good place to break away from the hustle and bustle of the city
Very good experience and would definitely recommend it. It should be on everyone's bucket list! Yolanda and Andre received us well and made our check-in as easy as possible. Andre was always available for any queries we had.
Had a great day on the water with perfect weather and great views.
It was really nice, we enjoyed it tremendously, the tranquility and beautiful nature gives you rest for your soul. The boat is very well equipped with everything you need. We slept great, really had a great time. I would definitely recommend it and definitely do it again in the future.
Induction was valuable and of high quality. There's a lot of focus on safety and exceptional client service. Had a lovely few days. Our vehicle with some of our belongings was safe. There's always help if needed.
Fully equipped boat and so neat. We slept warm and comfortably. The service was excellent.
Steven and the other staff at Knysna Houseboats go out of their way to make the holiday as comfortable as possible. What a privilege to spend time on the lake and see the sun set and rise over the lake.
Expensive, but if it's on your "bucket list" just do it. Worth every cent. You have to do the oysters and try to catch a fish. Give children some sick pills just in case. Wind can make quite waves but I felt very safe in the houseboat. The office keeps you updated on weather patterns.
We had a great time and drove around on the lake. Also sleeping and eating on the houseboat was really nice and something very different from the usual holiday. You just have to be a little more careful than on a normal holiday. We would definitely like to do something like this again.
Very good. Their willingness to help and make sure you enjoy. Location is excellent and nice to relax.
Although it is a very unique experience and I would recommend it, one might think twice about the cost.
Was great, especially if you want to treat your family to a breakaway.
We enjoyed the experience, but will not make use of accommodation like this again.
This was our 4th visit on Knysna Houseboats - amazing experience.
Very nice and good value for money.
We have no complaints - it's just the bathroom that is very small. Other than that we really enjoyed it and everything is so perfectly set up.
Ons het 'n aand gebly en dit was die moeite werd.
Was the best part of our holiday and everything you need to recharge your batteries is provided. Quiet, amazing nature, fresh air and a lovely experience to hear the soothing sound of the ocean before falling asleep. Very hospitable, friendly and helpful staff.
The best service ever. Many thanks to the staff of Knysna Houseboats.
We had a very special time on our house boat and luckily the weather played along. It was my first time as a skipper, luckily it was a quiet lagoon. The experience was fantastic and dinner on the boat's deck under the stars were amazing.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Will recommend to any couple. If you need to see if your partner is compatible, then this is a brilliant test. Weather was a bit rough, so team work was required. Thank you to all that made our experience memorable. It was awesome!
Wonderful experience. Will definitely be back. Shower and toilet is a new experience - not good. But shower facilities in the harbour was nice. Understand there is limited space for 5 star bathroom on a boat.
Any fisherman's dream holiday. Hire a kajak and make bait from your own houseboat! The boat is very well-equipped with everything you need for comfortable accommodation.
It was the best part of our vacation. The boat is perfect for a couple. Everything was clean and comfortable with breathtaking views. Christo and Melissa were both wonderful with their service. Nothing better than the Knysna houseboat for a few days. We loved it.
It's definitely worth it.
Just the thing if you want to go relax with your family, or break away for a romantic few days. The staff are fantastic and nothing is ever too difficult to arrange. Make sure you rent a kayak as well, because the lake lends itself to hours of enjoyment on the water. Just make sure you buy your groceries before you get on the boat because there is no store within walking distance. I can definitely recommend this.
