Additionally, there are comfortable seating and a patio with outdoor seating and braai facilities.
Koekeloer Kothuis 2 is an open-plan unit that can accommodate 2 guests and is furnished with a queen-size bed. A shower, washbasin and toilet are available in the bathroom. Included in this unit is a kitchenette equipped with a 2-plate stove with a mini-oven, microwave, bar fridge, cutlery and crockery as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. This cottage includes a private patio with braai facilities and guests can cool off in a farm-style splash pool.
The Shed is the newest cottage with space for 2 guests. It has a bedroom, bathroom and living area. The bedroom has an extra-long king-size bed. There is also a nice fireplace for the cold winter nights or just a romantic evening with a glass of wine. The bathroom has a shower, bath, basin and separate toilet. The kitchen is equipped with a four-plate gas stove, air fryer, microwave, fridge-freezer, cutlery and crockery and there is seating for 4 at the dining table. The unit also has comfortable seating and a porch with outdoor seating and braai facilities. The private outdoor lounging area has an outdoor shower and basin. Stairs lead from the bedroom to an outside deck with 2 comfortable chairs. It is the perfect place for a morning coffee as it has a nice view. This unit is the perfect place for a romantic getaway.

Our stay was absolutely fabulous. I cannot compliment the owner and his mother enough on their friendliness and hospitality.
We booked both units for our family and it was so peaceful and quiet. Place is very nice and Coert was an excellent host. The Boma in the evening is very nice for a social visit. All the units were perfect and beautiful. Amenities are perfect. Would recommend the place 100%.

What a nice surprise Koekeloer had not been. It is a beautiful place. Very tastefully decorated. Our host was very friendly and went out of his way to make the two days we stayed there as comfortable as possible. Nice to wash the cold water in the fridge, the treats next to the bed. The beautiful bathroom with shower and bath. And cooling off in the pool was so nice on the hot day when we arrived.
I can highly recommend such a lovely stay. The accommodation is beautiful, thoughtful, hospitable and comfortable. Our host provided everything and more, from a welcoming sherry to filter coffee. Load shedding alternatives are in place. Koekeloer is situated centrally in Nieu-Bethesda to afford a true Karoo experience. Everything is within easy strolling and exploring distance. We enjoyed the cool patio and garden late afternoon. We will definitely visit again for an extended stay.
Absolutely amazing! Coert went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. His attention to detail is nothing less than impressive! We wanted fresh homemade bread on a Sunday afternoon and couldn't find any anywhere. When we asked Coert if he knew where we could buy a loaf, he arranged with somebody he knew to bake a loaf for us. We were very comfortable and enjoyed a most relaxing visit. We will definitely be going back.

An unexpected rain shower made our visit special. Load power was not a problem with solar lighting and hot water.
It was particularly pleasant to stay with our friendly host. The unit is small, but compact and excellently equipped with everything we needed. It is particularly tastefully furnished and bears witness to his fine sense of the aesthetic. The air conditioning was a life saver and the reading chairs on the porch are a lovely bonus. The pond is a welcome escape from the Karoo heat. We would definitely like to come home again.

Really couldn't have asked for better. The unit was well equipped with everything one could think of and need. Provision has been made for sufficient wall plugs, air conditioning, all kitchen appliances, private and secure parking, etc. It's like "home away from home". Coert is an excellent host. He went out of his way to make the stay as pleasant as possible. He accompanied us to a vantage point where we could experience the whole village's beauty. From the moment we got there, he made sure we didn't lack anything. We are frequent travelers and I can definitely recommend Koekeloer. Peaceful, restful, great to just unwind and/or go out at night or in the morning and mingle with the locals.
For us who come from the city, it is wonderful to be received so hospitably in the countryside. The room with en suite is very neat and private. Thank you for being such a good host Coert! It's the detail that makes the difference, like for example the craft with sherry that I enjoyed so much after a long day on the road. We will definitely stay here again.

Koekeloer is a gorgeous self-catering establishment. No attention to detail is spared and we wanted for nothing. The establishment is well situated and allows one to take in the uniqueness of the town as the people and animals pass by. Coert was an amazing host and is a great ambassador for the village.
We stayed in kothuis 2 which is a newly renovated comfortable cottage for two people. There is a well-equipped kitchenette and spacious bathroom. The air conditioner in the room is an absolute bonus for cold winter nights in Nieu-Bethesda. Thank you Coert for your wonderful hospitality.
Lovely place close to all in the little town. Tee cottage takes you back in time.
A few days before our arrival, New Bethesda experienced the worst flood in 50 years. Coert offered that we could cancel because it was chaos between flood damage, load shedding and water problems. We still went though and it was so worth it! Coert is an excellent host and everything was just neat and in its place. Our place was beautifully furnished and very private. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Coert and stay there again. It's the attention to detail and great hospitality that makes the difference!
