Without ever having travelled to Kimberley choosing a place to stay was a big gamble and I lucked out. Kolkop Safari is a fantastic little spot: immaculate braai boma and a well-kitted kitchen. I wish I had planned to stay longer. On one short drive, I saw several different species of buck.

Incredible getaway in a breathtaking and magnificent tranquil setting! The unit has an authentic bush holiday feel, excellently laid out and equipped with all the creature comforts. The hosts were friendly, considerate and thoughtful in making your stay with them memorable! The Kolkop Safari cottage has something for everyone to do and enjoy whether you are busy bodies like us or just want to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere on the private property to see and enjoy! There are many walking, mtb, and driving routes. The property has a lovely braai area outside with plenty of seating and shelter for both winter and summer with seating that guests can enjoy their morning coffee, sandwiches or evening sundowners. In the evening you are mesmerized by the milky way and sounds from the animal's settling down for the night. We will definitely recommend Kolkop Safari cottage as a must visit for anyone who loves the outdoors or wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Can't wait to visit again very soon! We were able to relax wonderfully after a day traveling. Peaceful farm setting with all the facilities available for an overnight stop.
Wonderful place to stay with all the necessary amenities. Visitors just need to realize that the house is a short drive from the N12.

If the Northern Cape's forest has not yet crawled under your skin to where it has found a place in your heart, then come visit Kolkop. Then just stay a few days until you know: "I'm going to come again!".
Really never seen such a neat farm. Nice looking animals, just on the way to Kolkop and in Kolkop. House very nice and comfortable. Nice quiet and friendly people. Wish we could stay longer. The lookout is totally worth it, it was beautiful.
Accomodation was fantastic and very friendly host. Karoo was beautiful and green. Great lookout spot.
For others who, like us, enjoy feeling like you're away from civilization. You have a game farm to yourself. You grill a sausage under the stars and then sleep in a neat, comfortable and safe place. Kolkop Safari is the place.

The newly built hunter's house is everything one needs for an overnight stay. Martie Oehlhley, hostess, answered all our questions with attention ahead of time, and the road indications were easy to understand. The ride up the hill was breathtaking, and the walk in the twilight field a journey for city souls.
Location is ideal for overnight stays between Gauteng & Cape. The unit is very clean and tidy and has more than just the necessary. Very nice among the woods & wildlife!
The place is very neat and has a lot of space! Friendly and good service. Will definitely spend a few nights there again.
We slept very well, all the facilities were clean and tidy. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare a meal after a long day on the road. Next time we will definitely make use of the campfire facilities and have a nice barbecue and visit under the bright stars. Martie was in contact with us and she also immediately answered her phone to help us with the road directions. Kolkop Safari was great!
Comfortable and neat furnished house on a quiet hunting farm near Mokala Sanpark nature reserve. Martie Oehley, the owner is a helpful and friendly lady.
