Kolskoot Guesthouse exceeded my expectations. My mom and I needed a well-deserved break, and Kolskoot Guesthouse provided that and more. We were greeted by Sieta, who was sweet and accommodating, followed by her canine sidekick Jasper the Jack Russell, who ended up becoming my bestie during our stay. We also received a freshly baked loaf of bread, which was divine. The guesthouse itself was welcoming and rustic, giving a true farmhouse feel. Waking up to the sound of the cows mooing, the sheep baaing, and the chickens crowing was absolute bliss! Everyone on the farm, including the animals, was friendly. Jasper gave us a tour of the farm and made sure that the cows did not come too close to us. We had plenty of laughs watching this tiny little Jack Russell chase these massive cows. I would love to return for a longer stay; it did wonders for my soul .
Kolskoot was very friendly and helpful. We unfortunately got there late because we are from far away, and they stayed in touch and even offered to light the fire for us in the meantime. The unit was very clean and tidy. The environment is quiet and peaceful and exactly what we needed. The tranquility and peace that is experienced there, combined with the picturesque view over the countries in the distance, is absolute food for the soul. Many thanks to Annie for everything!
House has a lovely old fashioned farm feel. We were welcomed with a freshly baked, warm bread. Everything was clean, tidy and of good quality. We would definitely recommend this guest house to someone who wants to get away from the everyday rat race and want to enjoy the peace and quiet of farm life again.
Clean, quirky, quiet, safe, fantastic hosts, well-equipped, all-weather braai area. A perfect place for a soul-rejuvenating getaway.
If you like tranquility and a farm atmosphere, this is the ideal place to stay. Annie is the friendliest hostess you can find. The fresh bun was a nice surprise. The guest house is perfect and we lacked nothing. The painting inside the house is exceptionally beautiful and puts the house on a level of its own. Enjoy sitting at the outdoor barbecue. Also a beautiful view of the Swartland. We love animals and really enjoyed the cattle and sheep on the site. We will definitely come back again.
The only issue was a step between the kitchen and bedroom which I nearly fell over.
The dirt road is in good condition so can be reached with a car too!
My goodness this cottage is amazing. The walls inside are painted in different farm scenes. It's truly eclectic. Very Comfy beds and a strong shower. Kitchen well equipped and lamps for loadshedding. Flies are a bit of an annoyance, but that's farm life. It's a quick drive to Velddrift and other coastal towns. We visited the Fossil Park. I highly recommmend it. The firewood was R50 for a huge bag.
The name spot shot also refers to a "Hole in One" in golf. It says everything about the place. A rare occurrence and that is certainly what I can say about the guest house. A gem on a picturesque farm with exceptional host and wife. Ideally located, extremely comfortable and just a pleasure to relax there. The ideal place from which to explore the entire West Coast and the Swartland.
The place is beautiful with a warm feeling. Beautiful neat farm with all the familiar farm sounds. It reminded me way back of my childhood. Friendly owners. Annie is just a call away for a helping hand. Was blissful for the soul.
The people are very friendly. The house is on a farm and my husband and I felt safe at all times. I often travel on my own for work and will definitely stay there on my own as well.
It’s a fantastic spot to recharge the old batteries. It’s on a beautiful farm and the guesthouse is fantastic! You have beautiful views all around and if you are up early enough, then you can witness a beautiful sunrise, while enjoying your morning coffee with a rusk in the hand.
The beautiful green wheat fields with the breathtaking sunset and sunrise make one's soul feel refreshed at this gem of a place. Enough space to go for a walk or jog, a delicious barbecue area and when you lay your head down it is between beautiful white linen. Annie also lovingly accommodated our dogs which made the weekend even more enjoyable. We will definitely go again because it's so close to the city and a getaway that makes you feel like you've been on vacation for a week.
Booking process was easy and straight forward. Lovely views from the house across the wheat fields. The farm is very easy to find. The accommodation is comfortable.

Wow, what an amazing service in a creative paradise. First, the farm was a loop court of green wheat fields, yellow canola fields and enormous cattle! We were warmly received by Annie and in the kitchen was a beautifully set table with freshly baked bread. The house is full of character with a special history and very user friendly. We are only very sorry that we could not stay longer. A gem! Thank you so much Annie for cherishing memories.
What a great experience on a working farm. We were received so hospitably and the two nice young people made us feel like family. They provided wood and even left a lovely bottle of red wine and freshly baked bread as a welcome. The atmosphere in the house made us long for our parents' homes. In the evening, after a delicious outdoor barbecue, we hung out around the kitchen table until long after bedtime. The decor is unique seeing that it was an old chicken coop. At every turn there was a surprise. Will want to go back again in the winter to sit in front of the fireplace and watch the birds by the pans. 5 star service.

We had a very relaxing stay in a farm surrounding which we did not expect. It was lovely. Thanks to Annie for her correspondence with us while and after our stay.
In the center of the Swartland. Miles of green flowing wheat fields with full starry skies at night. Walks are aplenty on the farm with geese and cattle. The bonus was we could take our Yorkshire terrier.
