This is an incredibly beautiful lodge. The rooms are in urgent need of upgrading. The hiking trails are well marked.

We really enjoyed our break at Komati Gorge Lodge. The facilities are great and the management couple, Ross and Sandy, are very friendly and helpful. They immediately made us feel welcome and met all our needs. I look forward to visiting Komati Gorge Lodge again.

The place needs serious renovation and maintenance. I stayed in Leopard 2.
Sandy and Ross made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to make our holiday very special, nothing was too much for them. We rode horses, canoeed, did fly fishing, swam and we were on the viewpoint hiking trail. Their food is very tasty and their service is excellent. We also saw many wild animals. We can't wait to go back. It was a very short getaway, but one I won't soon forget.
We really enjoyed our stay. The restaurant provides a very basic, yet good menu, so if you want variety it's best to plan for some self-catering.
Hospitable, we felt very welcome. Would love to visit there again.
Sandy and Ross are wonderful hospitable people. We really enjoyed the break and would recommend it to anyone.
The only point I would make is to provide WiFi in the rooms. Because now I have to go to the main building to send a message. The WiFi can be limited.
Had a great time. The low-level bridges were flooded so Sandy and Ross did us a huge favour by picking us up and Doornkop next door and we got to test our driving skills on an unplanned but pretty cool game drive 4x4 style - added bonus. The Mahindra performed above expectations. Staff was friendly, lovely restaurant on-site and beautiful walking trails available. We sat on our porch just watching the mighty river roar by - awesome. Only slight issue we had was that our rooms could have been cleaned a bit better, the fridge was turned off on our arrival and the living room's couch can use a cover or full replacement - that's the only negative - overall- nature made up for it big time.

The place is really a gem.
Management very helpful and friendly. Personal attention is given. No request is too big or too small for Mr or Mrs Dunbarr to help with. The nature is beautiful and so peaceful.

This is one of those places where the pictures don't give the full picture. Als is 100 times better and more beautiful than any photo. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem to anyone. It's ideal for smaller children. There is so much they can do and enjoy in a safe environment.
Would recommend to anyone who likes wildlife and wants to rest. The service is great, very nice clean and safe.
It was a wonderful weekend.
A wonderful visit at a very beautiful place. Leopard berth has large bath and beautiful interior. The Picnic basket was absolutely delicious and good value for money. Walking routes can get better directions, eg to say how far you have walked.
When I made the booking there was no indication that one would have to travel 28 km to on a gravel road to the venue, apart from the spider webs underneath the bedroom pedestal my 3 year old baby was given a mattress to sleep on.
Would recommend to anyone. There is no cell phone reception, so you don't have a choice to just relax or do something active there. Also lots of fun activities that aren't even advertised on their page so there's plenty to do for everyone from young to old.
