Delicious, affordable and tidy accommodation 5 minutes from the border post. The ideal overnight stop between Gauteng and Ponta de Ouro/Ponta Malangane/Xai-Xai and Inhambane. Quiet safe area, with the manatees grazing between the chalets at night. Each chalet has its own barbecue area, but there is also a restaurant on site. Rooms are neat, spacious and the air conditioning is very effective (if there is no loadshedding). We slept over there on the way to Mozambique and forgot something in the fridge by mistake - and when we checked back 12 days later, they returned it to us at reception.
There were not many guests on the night we stayed over, we were also the only guests in the restaurant, the service and food were good.

Very nice sleepover for one night. The owner was kind enough to wait for us until 10 o'clock in the evening to receive the key.
My husband and I enjoyed it so much in nature, the tiger fishing was a bit unsuccessful due to the river being in flood and turning the water very brown, but will definitely visit again when the water has regained its color.
One disappointment was that the restaurant was closed for the entire weekend. Had to drive to town for meals every time.

We were able to visit the Wildlife Park through Crocodile Bridge and Malelane Gate - both are close enough to clock in early. The tiger fishing brought us double happiness. Just sorry about the train traffic!
Lovely little resort, everyone either goes to Kruger or catches tiger fish, felt very safe and very tidy. You hear the trains in the evening so it's not quiet but it didn't bother me, would definitely recommend, value for money and very tidy. We stayed on the river

On arrival we were kindly received, the chalet was clean and comfortable and the grounds kept clean by the staff, they also have a security guard who patrols all the time which makes you feel safe at all times, unfortunately the waterfront was overgrown with water grasses , but this is due to the little water the area has received in the last few months and is out of the chalets' hands, we did arrange with the resort for 2 tigerfish trips of which they could only get one arranged, but again it was if due to the low water conditions in the river, but other than that the service was excellent and I would highly recommend Komati River Chalets and would definitely return myself.
This was such a wonderful experience. We were told that we can book in until 10 pm but we were caught in a 6 hour traffic delay. A very friendly Neville said not to worry, he will be there and let us in - we arrived at 1:10 am. The next day we met Ros and the other Lady (sorry for not remembering your name) and again was flooded with friendliness. What a pleasant weekend experience. The unit was very clean and well equipped. The gardens are maintained and the environment is neat and very safe. Very close to the game park gate.
I am definitely coming back, it is peaceful. The perfect place to escape. Privacy is mandatory to me and it was plenty there. If you are adventurous then there is a lot to do around the lodge.
Nice place to be there, however the office closes very early in the evening. There is no shop. The restaurant is good. The people are friendly and helpful. Near the Kruger Park.
We have been using Komati River Chalets as overnight accommodation for a few years, even before we visited the Kruger National Park. This time, however, it was somewhat of a disappointment. The price has increased, which is understandable, but then I would like to have two single beds or a double bed, the bin the bathroom should be emptied and the bed / beds should've been covered with fresh linen, which is not the case. So, I do not know if we will stay there again! It's a pity.
We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation and of course the physical beauty of the property and area is breathtaking.
The breakfast is a bit expensive, but the accommodation is excellent.
My stay was of superior comfort although it was too short, couldn't go for river walk.

Beautiful and accommodation great. It is truly a place that is outside the camp but you feel like you are in the park. We even saw elephants at the river just outside the resort. Will definitely come again and bring my family too. The accommodation facilities, the dam and river outside create a Kruger National Park atmosphere with a touch of the lake.
Excellent service with a SMILE! Ross, Duncan, Richard, Jade and staff made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived until we had to depart with a promise of visiting them again very soon. Nothing was too much effort for them in order to make our stay a memorable one. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of them! Chalets were kept sparkling clean and the grounds were kept in excellent condition even though we experienced a couple of heavy thunderstorms during our stay I would not hesitate to recommend Komati River Chalets to anyone who wants to enjoy a perfect holiday.

Would like to see reception open for longer hours, especially in the morning. Also, please consider adding visible security and light at braai area. Nice weekend retreat otherwise.
The dirt road is a negative, but the camp and the chalet are clean and tidy.
