Had a lovely stay at Komodo. Location was great for an event held at RHS, just two blocks away. Room was clean and comfortable.
We were very satisfied with the service, cleanliness and care we received at the guest house. The place had everything we needed for our one night stay. The bathroom's bath and shower are nice and big and we slept very well. There was even full DSTV so we could follow the Olympics. We were still not sure where we would have dinner and we were very pleasantly surprised with the recommendation to eat at the restaurant in Kroondal - it was very cozy and the food was delicious. The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast. We are very impressed and would love to stay there again.

Our stay at Komodo Guesthouse was quite comfortable. Initially, it seemed as though they had prepared for only one guest. There was only a three-quarter bed for two people and one towel for two adults to share on the first night. However, this was quickly resolved the next day when they provided two single beds in the room.

Great accommodation with neat and tidy rooms. Cleaned daily. Outside seating area was a nice place to sit and work outdoors. Breakfast was a nice change and there were good choices with both hot and cold options. The chef was very kind and offered to make me eggs each morning. I battled to get the WiFi going but did eventually work it out. The shared/ducted air conditioning was an issue. It was turned on high and the noise was loud, disturbing my sleep. Rooms would benefit from individual air conditioners.

Bit expensive. The guest house is clean and neat, and the breakfast was reasonable. Do not expect the aircon to work; I had to get up 3 times during the night to switch the outside unit on. Ask for a unit with a standalone aircon.
My previous stay at Komodo was up to standard. This time round, I got a room with no proper AC, and the room had a foul smell. The towels also had a foul smell. I had booked 2 nights but only stayed for one. After notifying the receptionist of the issues, she said another room was available free of charge. A few minutes later, when I asked to move to the other room, I was told the room was no longer available. I won't be using this guest house again.

My room was very comfortable and private. Service in the dining hall was courteous and helpful. Efforts were made to meet my specific need. A big plus is that the excellent coffee bar, Fietsloots, is also on site. Thank you very much. I look forward to visiting again.

On your description of the guest house you say there is air conditioning in the rooms, unfortunately we only had a fan. They met us and brought another fan with a lead for us all to use. Furthermore, we had a very nice stay, clean and tidy, very good food and extremely friendly service.
All we can ask please. if we are more than one guest to put 2 large towels in the bathroom instead of only 1, so also enough pillows on the bed, we only had enough pillows for 1 person.
It was nice. Peaceful stay, location was ideal. It was safe. The whole guest house itself was not that clean. Rooms were clean.
My husband and I had a great stay. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly.
The room is nice clean and spacious. Neat and everything in good working order. Unfortunately, none of the guests were allowed to use the air conditioning and it was terribly hot and stuffy in the room. We slept terribly uncomfortable and badly and were uncomfortable all night.

The staff is really fantastic, very friendly. Breakfast was really nice, effort was made. It's a peaceful place to catch your breath with your family, all that's missing is a swimming pool, but the service and location are really value for money.
Our sons participated in a cricket tournament in Rusterburg, some of the parents booked accommodation at Sundown ranch hotel, but a. g. v extremely poor and unsanitary accommodation there, Komodo's staff quickly accommodated them with excellent accommodation and a delicious breakfast at a much cheaper rate. Many thanks to the friendly staff of Komodo guest house, we will definitely visit again.

Our room was not ready by 3:30pm. Leaking toilet and bathroom door that couldn't close was already reported the first night, but 2 days later when we left it still hadn't been fixed.

Komodo Guest House's rooms are comfortable, the garden is beautiful and the breakfast was very tasty.
Room in the main building's air conditioning (common system) was not in use, despite a very hot day. Unfortunately, my room was right above the kitchen where meat had been grilled since the afternoon and early evening. So windows had to be closed for the smoke - very hot with just an electric fan. I would happily stay there again, but in a better ventilated room. The breakfast was particularly exquisite and tasty.

The staff on duty treated us excellently. We were particularly impressed with Joel the night watchman and Godfrey the cook. They were very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our requests. E.g. to give us a braai for roasting meat, wood, lighters, etc. to provide. We could also use the kitchen's cutlery and plates for this. Everything was very neat and available in the bedroom and bathrooms. A barking dog from the neighbors is certainly not the management's fault, but was a lot of trouble at night. Also, "guests" arrived in the middle of the night (about 2am) and were very noisy - this was during curfew time? It is certainly excusable if there was a problem but the careless noisy behavior was very disturbing. Overall, however, we had a great stay and would recommend staying in Komodo to other travelers.

The only criticism is that the air conditioning did not work well. The problem is that rooms 1 to 4 use the same air-conditioning system and therefore cannot be individually adjusted. This caused a problem as the gas in room 2 got very cold while we got warm in room 1. Another thing that bothered is that there is no mirror in the bedroom, only in the bathroom, which makes it difficult to blow dry hair. There could also be a greater variety at breakfast.
The mat was smelling bad in our room other than that all was well.

Neat place with lots of potential. Cigarette buds and ashtrays is not in line with the smoke-free South Africa. Had to close all windows to keep the smoke out from guests smoking right in front of the room. It was warm and there was no air conditioner which made it uncomfortable. I wasted my money this weekend.
Four rooms share an air conditioner, i.e. if my neighbour puts it colder then I just have to accept or complain. The shower area has no provision for soap, shampoo or anything else where it can be placed except on the floor. Several times the security gate is open after a person leaves or enters.
The room is adequate for business trips and overnight stays. However, the air conditioning is on power and so it was very hot and opening windows was not an option there. Adjacent rooms had very noisy guests which was a direct influence. Staff was friendly and room was clean.

Komodo Guest House is really neat and has friendly service. They responded quickly to our e-mails and answered the questions I had. The aircon in our room did not work. We reported it to them. We had a pleasant time there and would recommend it to other guests.
The service was exceptional, staff were helpful, friendly and hospitable. The air conditioning was not working as expected, but the staff immediately made a plan and arranged extra fans to keep the room cool. Accommodation was good. The noise at night from surrounding area (music) was very annoying, as it lasted until 03:30 in the morning. The air conditioner did not work well, so the windows had to stay open for cool air.
We had a great time at home and the children could play outside in the safety of the premises. Staff is very courteous and hospitable. The floors and linen just need some attention.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and everything was in order but the breakfast wasn't nice at all. We had to complain to get bacon, sausages, muffins etc.
Komodo Guesthouse is value for money. Most amenities are within 10 km. Even though management leaves you to your devices they are available when you need them. Suggestion: Breakfast - light breakfast to include cold meats and cheese.

The suite we stayed in was beautiful and clean. The coffee making facilities were just a little sparse and the breakfast can be improved. Otherwise we had a good night's sleep, the bed was heavenly.
