7 guests' feedbackWhat a fantastic oasis with so much character created by uncle and aunt. They are the most hospitable people who go out of their way to make you feel at home. It's a great getaway that will leave you returning home relaxed and happy.
Billy and Riana made us feel so at home. We arrived as guests, and left as friends! Really a very cute place. Lots to do in the area. We were spoiled with delicious meals. And a great time in Billy's art studio. We will definitely visit them again. It was a great break from the city. Use of bicycles to explore the area was also a plus.
The cottage is a perfect destination for a weekend (or longer) away. Your laptop, with solid Wi-Fi, easily makes you a "digital nomad". Take advantage of the quiet for reading or (creative) writing. Or claim a spot for your easel and brushes in Billy's studio. The main road quickly runs out of tar and continues on gravel into walking and cycling-friendly gently rolling hills. There are even bicycles to borrow. The decor and furnishings are quirky, eclectic and fun. Bring your (inner) hippy and sandals. They'll be right at home too. Remember to bring lunch/dinner, if you need to. There's only a spaza and liquor shop for solid and liquid snacks, otherwise pre-arrange with Riana and Billy. I got lucky and saw a train, right up close, go past just behind the cottage. Train spotting bonus unlocked!
The cottage is very comfortable and fully equipped with every conceiveable appliance and crockery and cutlery. The bed was superb and I had some real good sleep after days of stress. The hosts are friendly and charming and we got on well during the stay, and they are exceedingly generous with allowing fruit and veg to be picked from the garden. It is a perfect venue to just chill out and enjoy the quiet of a small village, and the wifi was strong enough to allow uninterrupted streaming of videos if needed.
We were received kindly and soon felt at home. Billy and Riana go out of their way to make everything comfortable for their guests. We enjoyed a cozy evening with delicious home-cooked food with them in Billie's creative space (his studio). We left the next morning with a bunch of wild flowers and narcissus freshly picked for the road.
It was small but all we needed. The bedding is something to write home about! The kitchen was well equipped and our dogs enjoyed the interesting yard.
Billy, Riana and Tippie welcomed us into their beautiful tranquil space in Koringberg. The cottage is quaint and beautifully decorated. They provided us with all the information we needed to have a relaxing and peaceful stay. We are excited to see how this venue will develop in time to come and will most definitely be returning!
