Self-catering accommodation was not nice at first, but then very nice. The first night's accommodation was like a cave and all views are against walls. There was no hot water because a broken geyser and the next morning there was no water due to a burst pipe. We were moved to the Ruby unit which has a garden view (not the pond) and everything worked and we had a great stay. Only the upper floors have a dam view if you go for a view. The photos are confusing because on the sheet they do not show two self-catering units separately. The staff were always very friendly and helpful.

The apartment is very modern, but unfortunately we did not get what we hoped for. We booked right next to the dam to get a nice view, then we were put in a room that is like a cave, no windows you can see out of. The swimming pool is unusable because of the icy water. We were not offered breakfast at all, although it reads B&B. Room floors were extremely dirty on arrival.

Kosmos Manor staff is the friendliest people on earth. The breakfast is out of this world. The make sure you are supercharged when you leave the breakfast table. Nice spot for fishing as well. Our experience at this 5-star guest house was not nice at all. The staff are unfriendly and not welcoming at all. The service is non-existent if you don't ask for it. You have to permanently have to look for someone for assistance. The food was cold and overcooked. Not to be expected from a 5-star manor. The manor is in urgent need of maintenance. The pool was dirty and murky. Drinks are very expensive and the variety available is minimum. The pictures you see are not what you get. This is not a 5-star place at all, I will not recommend you go there, especially for the price you pay.

Linnen is clean and old. The outside garden is unkept. The water cold. Instant coffee served. Mixed up all the breakfast orders. The gate to the parking is locked and you wait a long time when you press the bell. There are many many stairs, no help was offered with luggage when you check out. The listing shows awards won, four star accommodation. This was not our experience. The prices should be adjusted.

It was our 2nd visit to Kosmos Manor and it was once again great. It is a beautiful guest house with excellent service. The room is spacious and tidy. Definitely one of my favorites in Harties.

It was not value for money. There is a lot of potential, but maintenance is lacking. The toilet ran all night. We stayed in the "self-catering" unit, the cutlery of the unit was insufficient. Unit is equipped with a hair dryer but no power point equipped for the two prong of the hair dryer. It's a really nice place but definitely not value for money.

The guesthouse was a disappointment. The room is very big, clean and luxurious, but the cupboard has somebody's old clothes in it. The other rooms can look into the bathroom and the door handle to the veranda is broken. The swimming pool is not heated as advertised and the Jacuzzi can't be used. The fruit with breakfast were rotten and the service even more rotten! The guesthouse is definitely not worth the price.

The suites are the best that I have seen in a very long time. would love to live there for a month or two. A lot of stairs to climb before getting to the guesthouse, but good exercise.

We stayed in the Presidential Supreme Room and the photos on the website do not do the room "justice". It's an incredibly beautiful room and very spacious. We only stayed one night, but we will definitely go back to Kosmos Manor for our next trip to Hartebeespoort Dam. My new "favourite" in Harties!

"Disappointing."

For a place to advertise themselves as 5-star accommodation, I believe a client will have some requirements and expectations. Upon arrival it was unlocked and nobody offered to help with the luggage, considering the many steps. A lot of effort was put into making the room romantic but I struggled to appreciate the rose petals when I saw how torn the sheet is that we have to sleep on. And that at a 5-star establishment? I couldn't look past all the spider webs, dust and dirty furniture. Unacceptable! Not to mention the poor television signal that prevented us form watching anything. The remote was so dirty and taped together with sellotape that stuck to everything and it left me with a bitter taste in my mouth because I paid R2000 per night. My husband and I went there for our wedding anniversary and I booked this particular place because of the Jacuzzi and swimming pool. I was charged an extra R400 for the use of the Jacuzzi. I don't even know where to start. I asked that the Jacuzzi be ready in the late afternoon. At 6pm it was still cold and we couldn't use and enjoy it. Then I'm not even talking about the dirty swimming pool and porch yet. I don't mind paying the R400 for the convenience, but it is disappointing to organise and look forward to use something that is dirty and not usable. 5-star?! On top of that there was a power failure of almost 2 and a half hours. Without a generator? Maybe my expectations are too high for 5-star accommodation that you pay R2000 for, but we were both very disappointed. The only thing that is 5-star worthy is their delicious food. The food was delicious. The safety of the area where the cars are parked is not on standard for 5-star accommodation. For people who visit places in South Africa frequently, this was a big disappointment. Not worth the money at all.

The guesthouse was beautifully styled, the staff were friendly. We had a beautiful view of the dam, it is situated at the centre of all the "Harties Activities". Only one critique, on our second day, the staff assumed that we'd have the same breakfast we ordered on the first day. The option to change menus wasn't available. Overall, I enjoyed our stay.

For our purposes it worked, but we wouldn't consider it with a family. The atmosphere is not cozy. The bed was wonderfully large, but too soft and the neighbor could not open and close his bedroom door SOFTLY at 00:00 at night. The rooms are spacious, but the balcony provides no privacy. The outside shower is not usable - dirty. I don't understand why it's there if you're not sheltered from spectators. The real old and antique furniture attracted attention and paintings I could enjoy.
