29 guests' feedbackAwesomeness.
Very nice stay, it's peaceful on another "level". The houseboat needs maintenance and the shower doesn't really work. Would I go again: definitely!
Everything I wanted and needed.
Very relaxing and enjoyable. Beautiful setting.
Stayed 3 nights on Serenity. We had 3 amazing weather days. Loved the fact that the boat constantly turns slowly, so your view keeps changing. The boat transfer guys were amazing, very helpful and fast with luggage, transfer requests, and a quick gas bottle change when we ran out. Will definitely book again.
Fantastic experience and idyllic setting, but reception, maintenance and cleanliness need a lot of attention.
We really enjoyed our stay on the small boat. Talent was very helpful at fulfilling our requests. The boat and the views were spectacular. Rental of watersports equipment was quite pricey and would have been nice to be included in the fee. Unfortunately, we also encountered plumbing issues on the second evening. Despite these inconveniences, we can definitely recommend Kraalbaai Houseboats!
Do not throw the grill into the water.
Definitely not worth the money. The boat leaked rain in the kitchen. Had to use soup bowls to catch the water as well as rain through the bedroom window next to the electrical socket. The kitchen cupboards were wet too. Mattress area in the main bedroom was filthy! Money paid at entrance to the park x 2 was not at all mentioned. Initial entrance, yes! What if I arrived with neither cash nor card? Disappointed to say the least. Refunds were not acceptable should I have cancelled!
First night - electricity failed. Had to contend with noise of the generator for hours and the next morning and workers while attending to the fault. We booked the place for the tranquility. No sink plug or drying towels in the kitchen. Had to ask them to bring some on Saturday. Chairs in kitchen, bed tables and table in lounge dirty and need a coat of paint. Haven't swept under the beds in months. Sleeper couch broken. Overall in a worn-out state.
The view was so beautiful when we woke up. Nice swimming and hanging out.
Beautiful landscape and surroundings. The houseboat itself which is well appointed. Together with good friends, this was a weekend that I would definitely recommend. Thank you for the helpful, friendly staff who were always willing to help.
See stars.
Bathroom urgently needs upgrade. Otherwise excellent concept.
We spent the most amazing time here for 4 days. It was pure bliss away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The staff were friendly and amazing, the houseboat was everything and more. Our days were spent fishing, SUP-ing and spending quality time together.
I want to come back every year!
Was with my girlfriends on Eve for my birthday party. A bit disappointing that the oven not working had to call to have them come and sort it out. The shower was a thrill - everyone suddenly had boiling water and then ice cold. None of the 7 could take a nice shower. It may need some maintenance. Curtains were dirty with marks on them and toilet door not neatly clean - finger marks and stains inside and outside of door. There were only 2 rolls of toilet paper between 7 people for the weekend - but they immediately brought more. Furthermore, we had a wonderful weekend.
The advert of luxury is misleading as the facility is poorly equipped and lacked some essential items in the kitchen. No fresh water, coffee, tea, dinner plates. We were disappointed with what we were offered and certainly would not have paid that amount had I been aware of these short comings, so in a nutshell, totally overpriced!
It looks cleaner and luxurious (luxury is not a word I would use to describe a shower cracked with dirt).
We was told no music but the double storage houseboat did make loud music after midnight.
Many thanks to Martin, Devon, Hein and Talent. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. Highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay. The view was breathtaking. We are definitely going again in September.
Very neat and comfortable accommodation. One night was not enough. One has to spend at least two evenings to canoe and enjoy nature. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. Will definitely go again.
Quiet, nature, loneliness. If that's what you're looking for. This is it. You must love being on the water though! Wintertime probably not the best time. Except for the springflowers. Then you're just 10 minutes away.
Peaceful, quiet and absolutely perfect for the soul and body.
Had a pleasant time and well deserved time spent with the family but this was unfortunately interrupted many times. What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend with brothers and sisters and their spouses aged between 45-59 years of age was the complete opposite at times. The pro`s which are too many to mention as it's a paradise on water outweighs the con`s, but unfortunately we came to have a break not to bring the city life with us. Con`s: On arrival we were met with loud music singing and shouting from the other houseboat which is in close proximity. SANparks does not allow music but this was not enforced at all. This party continued until 2:25 am. The second house boat had a huge groups which overpowered the first boat with singing shouting and dance. They also died down a few minutes after the first boat. Also the power banks that they have on the boats are not sufficient in cloudy weather. So the following morning when all our neighbours were asleep, we wanted to shower but there was no power hence you can't flush the toilet, shower, or wash dishes. After a call to the boat keepers that resides on shore about our problem he was quick upon arrival then linked a generator at the kitchen door and had this loud generator making a noise with petrol fumes entering the cabin, I even made a video of this. Well this was a pleasant morning wake up experience. After running the generator for about an hour it was removed and taken to our rowdy neighbours as they were going to disembark that morning at 10 am and also had no power. Just before 11 am our power was off again and our famous generator was brought back and we had to endure a few hours of petrol smell and our peaceful quiet time was taken away until the generator stopped as it ran out of petrol. It was removed and we tried to continue with the remaining time we had in tranquillity as we were leaving the following morning. Well the next morning at 7:14 am we were all awakened by the return of our generator screeching away to give us power and to flush toilets etc. I feel that these issues were never mentioned by the establishment and that anybody wanting to hire these boats should be told beforehand. You expect to be at peace and to enjoy the surroundings but this we never experienced.
The boat is modern and clean inside. The staff are friendly and helpful. It was a cold winter day. We made a fire in the fireplace, and didn't get cold at all. Thought we would need 2 bags of wood, but the fireplace is very efficient and we didn't even use half a bag of wood for the night. Well 2 packs of flash to start fire. Although the boat does not move, it moves enough in the tidal current to give the experience of riding on a boat. We took the most beautiful pictures and had fun until late at night and then slept peacefully and warmly.
