It was very nice. We were the only guests during this event, so had the entire communal reception area to ourselves. Nice right next to the river. Unfortunately we didn't see any crocodiles.

My expectations were exceeded! The surroundings give you that real bushveld feeling. Location is amazing - high in the mountains, waking up to spectacular views, and seeing different types of wildlife every day. Will definitely book with them again.

We were upgraded to a better and bigger unit no additional charge. We unfortunately did not have hot water there was a problem it was mentioned to management. They allowed us to use a different outside shower elsewhere. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Animals to be seen and woke up to baboons on our patio which overlooks the Crocodile river. Bring everything you need as there is a gravel bumpy road of 7 km. No TV which was great. Take your own coathangers; blanket; ice.

"Quiet getaway from the city."

We like quiet vacation spots, deep in nature, away from it all. We booked the Lion room but ended up in the Giraffe. The Giraffe room's toilet and shower are inside the unit but it is smaller than the Lion whose bathroom is outside it. These 2 rooms also share a common kitchen/sink area, and they do have a mini fridge in each unit. If you want everything under one roof and don't want to share, book the Leopard unit, the view is also beautiful. We had a great time, the air conditioning works well and the resort is very safe. The resort's WiFi doesn't work, it has password issues, but it didn't bother us because we had good signal. The Giraffe room did not have an egg paddle, bring it along and also just an extra double wall plug if you use hair dryers etc. want to use The river is meters from the rooms, it was wonderfully relaxing. It's not a resort for children, the pool is very small and there's nothing else for them to do, if it's going to be longer than a weekend they might get bored. The Giraffe room is not for older people due to the step up to the toilet which is built very steeply, book the Leopard or the Lion instead. The dirt road from the main road is rough but okay, drive slowly and just enjoy the squirrels along the road. Thank you very much we enjoyed it, I can definitely recommend it.

I would recommend checking the cleanliness of your place. The bathrooms were not clean, and there was no one to come and empty the bins and also no one to come and clean the braai afterwards.

Rooms, hospitality, game drive staff was always there for us. Everything was out to the tee.

The nature and area were top notch. The stay was not good. Very dirty and could not use pots in outdoor kitchen as they were terribly dirty and rusty. Photos very misleading. If it wasn't for the environment we wouldn't have stayed.

My daughter and I and my 2 young grandchildren had a wonderful time. We were given an upgraded chalet at no extra cost. It was lovely and clean. The owner was so friendly and made our stay really enjoyable. Nothing was too much. Anytime we needed help he was there. I am from the UK and was in South Africa to visit my children. I am definitely going to rebook for my next visit. I highly recommend this accommodation.

We were 2 families with 3 teenagers and 2 primary school children in the group. We had the lapa and kitchen area to ourselves and were very pleased with the general standard of the facilities. Enjoyed fishing from the porch, rode in the river with an inflatable boat, swam and just relaxed traffic. Lovely with the river right by the porch. Porch would be dangerous for toddlers, but for primary school children and older children it was a lovely place to visit. We took our dogs together and they really enjoyed the large open spaces. Didn't even have time to explore the farm and 4x4 trail and mtb trails. Had a great time on the stoep. Large boma and braai available. Good lighting in the evenings. Nice big wooden table with heavy wooden chairs on the veranda. The chalets have enough crockery, microwave oven, kettle and plenty of cast iron pots. Would suggest taking a large flat pan with you - that and a cutting board were all we lacked. Nice big fridges in the open kitchen at the lapa. There is a large bin by the kitchen - but you have to clean everything yourself in terms of rooms and dishes. Would be a nice treat if there could be a cleaner. Would highly recommend the place and would like to go again. Gert and his pas were very helpful when we needed ice and wood. It's about a 25 minute drive to Brits, so you can go to the shops if you need something urgently.

I enjoyed the whole surrounding and feel of the place - really a relaxing place, very safe and true in nature. Certainly will be returning again very soon.

Old caravans/vehicles standing around. Workers quarters are close enough to smell what they are cooking. No pool in front of the Giraffe room like shown in the pictures. Other pool right in front of an old caravan where people seem to be living permanently. It was awkward to go swimming.

I would just like to say a big thank you to the people at Krokodilpoort Lodge for a wonderful two day break. It was the 13th our 30th wedding anniversary. Now this was a really awesome place to celebrate. The tranquility along the Crocodile River is really awesome ─ water is life. The bird sounds in nature were really worth it, we watched a finch building a nest. The peace along the water is really awesome. The room where we were at home was nice and clean and cozy. Would love to go there again. Again, thank you very much.

What was disturbing is the fact that on Saturday 08:00 until 17:00 they were busy with a wood construction which were next to our unit and even on Sunday morning while my family were still sleeping they continued their work with hammering and drilling which were unpleasant. Furthermore, I felt most uncomfortable going swimming with several men working on the construction which were close to the swimming pool, I personally felt that there where no privacy.

According to people who stayed there 4 years ago it was an amazing place, clean, beautiful and welcoming, but now all I have to say is disgusting, neglected and not at all showing the pictures on all the websites where they advertise.

"No decent reception 8 km very ugly 2 track road with very sharp rocks, not made for any normal vehicle."

Shared fridge to share, one compartment has no washing and toilet facilities, must use public one. No place to store groceries if you stay longer than 2 nights. Very far from town, didn't even go back the following weekend of the 15th, lost R600.

If you want rest for your soul away from everything, the Krokodilpoort Lodge is just the place. Luckily we had enough wood and OBS to keep the cold away. Just remember, Krokodilpoort is for down to earth people who can manage without all the luxuries.

What a lovely, beautiful place. Very quiet and tranquil. Would go back in a heart beat. Was lovely and warm, so we swam in the small pool. Braai area very clean. Room was beautifully decorated. Loved every minute there. And not to mention only 50 minutes from Pretoria.

Very peaceful place, would have liked a private bathroom, but we managed. Peaceful place and I can recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway. More than enough silence, and late in the afternoon you can hear the fish eagle's call. The gravel road leading to the lodge is suited for cars with a high ground clearance, but through many prayers we survived it. Krokodilpoort Lodge is definitely worth the money. And Solly is friendly and helpful. Thank you, Solly.
