Several restaurants, the Saturday morning market and a number of shops, art gallery and museums are all within walking distance. Montagu is known for its dry fruit, muscadel and has 3 wine cellars with tasting rooms.
A number of hiking trails start approximately 350 m from the cottage. It is also the perfect base for other activities in the area such as rock climbing, mountain biking, hot springs, stargazing and tractor rides. There are several other wineries in the area to visit as well.
An additional bonus is that one of the hosts, Marchelle, is also an official tour guide in town with her own tourist business. She offers guided, historical tours of Montagu - by foot or by bicycle. Her artist bikes, which can also be rented, were painted by several artists in the town.

Very nice stay. The power tripped and could not come on again from before 9 in the evening. Could only let the hostess know the next morning. Couldn't use the electric blanket or heater at all.

The unit is fully equipped. Even biscuits and cereals with coffee, milk etc. as a bonus. The mattress in the Krom cottage is a bit soft for guests with back problems. We had a nice time.

This is a charming property that is in a great location. This is a must-see town. The accommodation has a good quality gas backup stove for load shedding and some backup for lighting which we appreciated. The only thing it didn't have really was a freezer. It had an ice tray which wasn't ideal for us. It did have a good fridge though and a comfortable and well-equipped kitchen. This is an authentic property that will really give you the feeling of this stylish and charming little town. We enjoyed the property a lot and only wish that we had booked a longer stay. Our host was helpful and friendly, and we appreciated that a lot. Thanks so much.

My only complaint is that I was unable to get the "cottage" I initially selected and paid for due to an error in judgment on the part of the manager. She confused another customer with me.
Unfortunately, we were running late due to a family emergency. Check-in time is 2 - 7 pm. I was contacted before I informed them that we were delayed. I really felt unwelcome and uncomfortable and checked in like a small child because I never informed them timeously about being late, before 7 pm. I will not use them again.
The place is well equipped, comfortable bed and nice private braai area. Despite loadshedding, Kotie had boiling water for us for morning tea and coffee.
Hostess very helpful and has good knowledge of area. Will visit again if opportunity arises.

Very friendly service and nice place, good for self-catering. The only pity is the smart TV box which is not up to standard, it is almost impossible to navigate with it, but this can be easily fixed with an alternative box.

My daughter and I only stayed for one night, but will definitely go back for more time. Kotie and Marchelle made us feel so at home, and we definitely want to do a hiking trail with Marchelle, tour guide. We have stayed in several self-catering units, but Westway Corner is definitely in a higher category than I am used to. Everything is of the best, and there was even fresh yogurt and juice in the fridge. Don't forget the delicious biscuits and muesli either. The unit is so well equipped that one can even cook food if one wishes. I myself have a serious problem with bathrooms at the overnight accommodation, but I haven't seen so much hygiene in a long time. Everything was sparkling clean. If you want to enjoy a nice break in a very nice environment, which won't cost you much, then consider these units.

We stayed there for three nights. It is close to the start of the hiking trails and we could just walk from there to the starting point, but also close enough to walk into town. You simply feel part of the locals. The accommodation was basic and nothing extravagant. You don't feel like you're paying for something you don't use. Everything is quality and the place is well maintained. We will stay there again. Thank you Kotie, it was a very positive experience.
The guest house is really a hit. The room is spacious and the kitchen separate with everything you need. Then there were also goodies in the fridge. The owner is out to make life as comfortable as possible for you. Maps with visiting points, places to eat are all indicated. Truly a wonderful place. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

I met with Kotie very late that evening, due to travelling from Cape Town. She was extremely friendly and showed me around. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, very modern, nice space, perfect little small kitchen and bathroom (with a shower). The fridge was filled with yoghurt and full cream milk. There were many things available: towels, hair dryer, rusks, fan, extra pillows, body wash etc. The most comfortable bed ever! It is a few hundred meters away from Long Street, therefore it is very peaceful and quiet. About an 8 minute drive to the Montagu Golf Club. Would highly recommend.

Very neat room with fully equipped kitchen, we were warmly welcomed with fresh fruit, biscuits and coffee. Montagu is very hot in the summer and an air conditioner would be recommended for the hot evenings.
