Very nice stay, peaceful and quiet.
It was excellent and beautiful.
Excellent, good secure sites, compact but perfect.
It was great - thank you.
Lovely campsite with beautiful clean ablution block. Each campsite has its own built-in braai and sink with sufficient power points. Sunset behind the hills was very beautiful.
Nice pitches, each pitch with its own canopy and braai. Neat bathrooms.
Very nice stay at Kroon Lodge.
Comfortable camping site for those travelling in and around Namaqualand. The place has everything you need, spacious personal camping site with own braai and cleaning counter. Bathrooms and showers were very well maintained.
Comfortable overnight accommodation.
A bit basic but a good location to visit the area.
We were received very kindly upon arrival. We immediately felt at home and safe. On our return from Namibia we stayed there again without reservation and the experience was the same.
The room was comfortable and very clean and tidy. We had a great time on the stoep which has a built-in braai area. I would say this is the ideal place to stay on your journey onward.
We had a very nice stay, the campsites are a bit cramped, but once you set yourself up, it's very nice, with your own barbecue area and water. The ablutions are nice and clean. Can recommend it.
Very nice if used as an overnight stop. A microwave would make a very big difference. Rooms are very small for the rates charged. Tourist information would be very welcome.
Very peaceful stay especially after a long day, was able to rest well.
Once again a very nice stay, our 3rd time. Will definitely keep coming back. Can recommend for sure. So quiet small town feel, time not a factor. Also close enough to Vioolsdrif border post to stay over and break up your drive to Namibia a bit.
Reception was friendly and helpful in providing information about attractions.
The Kroon Lodge is very pleasant, but the village itself is small. I think stop and go is ideal.
We were kindly received. Accommodation was clean. We slept well. Nice environment. Staff were friendly. Water was warm.
Very nice and comfortable stay. Nice and tidy rooms.
Very neat and comfortable.
Very peaceful atmosphere. Lodge has everything I need. Is even animal friendly. Good "stopover" to the north for flower viewing.
Rooms were neat and clean. Enjoy a delicious breakfast. Our dogs were also very safe and calm. Bought cute souvenirs.
We always have a great stay at Kroon Lodge. Comfortable and clean. Sorry the microwave on the porch has been removed. Self-catering is now limited to the braai.
It only needs a microwave oven and hot water in the braai room (no. 5).
Second time back at Kroon and will definitely stay there again. Nice stopover to and from Namibia if you drive from the Cape. Braai on the porch is first class and view just as beautiful.
The managers do their best to help everyone.
Conveniently located on the way to Namibia or Kgalagadi. Very close to the entrance to the town with secure parking.
The cottages have cutlery, but there is no microwave oven. Instead, replace the hair dryer with a microwave. The braai place also does not have a grill. The houses are neat and clean inside. It's very safe.
Very nice stay. Just got very hot.
The place is a bit cramped, but neat. We were provided with cooling facilities because the bar fridge was out of order.
Very quiet and safe. Recommend it to people who just want peace and quiet. The sea is close and many other adventures.
Unit clean and tidy. Good bathroom facilities. A bit cramped in single unit living area, few slab surfaces. Sorry that all the kitchen equipment (e.g. microwave oven) must be requested only if it is required due to thefts.
Rooms 2, 3, and 5. Trash from the previous tenant was found under the bed. The toilet in room 5 was used but not flushed. And worst of all, there were bedbugs of various sizes, indicating that proper cleaning and control had not been done for quite a while. One of the mattresses in room 2 had a large brown spot in the middle, suggesting it was wet (trying not to imagine what liquid caused it). There was also a bloody tissue found underneath the blanket on the same bed. The bites from the bedbugs were severe, very itchy, and my limbs are still swollen even after 4 days. (Photos can be provided if required). We took every possible precaution to ensure that no bedbugs were brought into our luggage, but one can never be certain since the eggs cannot be seen with the naked eye. I sincerely hope that none were transported into our home, as that would be detrimental. The management was unhelpful.
Very good facilities, even wheelchair friendly and pet friendly.
Friendly welcome. Enjoyed stay very much. Quiet environment. Will definitely come again should we pass by here. Can definitely recommend the stay.
Really enjoyed the stay. Should we come that way again, we will sleep here again. Can highly recommend it.
Had a great sleep. Had a nice walk in Kamieskroon and went to see the church.
We were kindly received. Nice shower.
The nameplate of Kroon Lodge was a little unclear and definitely needs attention. However, inside the complex we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and hospitality of the owners. You park conveniently at your unit and that's a big bonus for older people. The unit is well equipped. Two aspects that may need attention: The wheelchair-friendly ramp to the porch is positive, but it gets slippery when it's rainy, please stick. something on this surface, like at the main building. A table to eat outside on the porch would also be welcome.
We were greeted kindly and shown to our tidy room.
See stars.
The Kroon Lodge is a perfect overnight stop on the way from Cape Town to Namibia or the Richtersveld. The facilities are absolutely first class and so is the service. Everything is clean and tidy and very well cared for. We had a great camp and would like to spend the night there again.
Kroon Lodge's managers Martie and her husband are very friendly people and make an effort to make you feel at home.
Convenient and safe - recommended.
We were there after peak time, so nice and quiet. Lovely braai place at no 5.
Good location. Very neat and even wheelchair friendly. On request, you can even bring your puppy along! Will book there again anytime.
Very nice camping. Kroon Lodge is very neat and well maintained. Campsites are nice and level and the braai and washing up facilities at the pitches are very convenient. The space for tent/caravan and vehicles is a bit tight. Mobile homes and large caravans should rather find a place to park elsewhere. Bathroom facilities are excellent. Will definitely book there again if we are in the area.
Great recommendation on where to eat, very helpful in answering questions.
Very neat rooms. Suitable for overnight stays for a tour group. The owners were very helpful and spared no effort to make us feel at home.
Easy check-in, clean place, responsive staff, good location for exploring Namaqua National Park.
We were received very kindly and everything was perfect for our overnight stay. The cleanliness and safety deserve special mention. Thank you very much, we will definitely stay there again.
Friendly reception, clean and quiet. Will visit again.
What made a big difference was the fact that my wife's therapy dog was welcome. Thank you.
Very comfortable and spacious room.
Ideal stay for flower viewing.
It is a very neat resort and the ablution facilities are 5-star. We were there with a camper van, and for us the pitch was sufficient, but the pitches are a bit small for a larger caravan. In the future we will stay there again without thinking twice.
The hospitality at Kroon Lodge is exceptional and we were very impressed with the facilities and camp sites. The only comment is that its not ideal for ground tent camping due to noise privacy as sites are very close to each other. Otherwise we highly recommend the place.
Hostess and host provided excellent service. More than expected.
Was pleasantly surprised with lovely, comfortable accommodation.
Neat, dog child could go along and check the location for flowers is very good. There is also a restuarant, Die Kliphuis, which makes the most delicious dinner and breakfast.
The camp facilities are truly first class and completely surprised me especially in a part of our country where basic facilities are mostly the norm. Anyone traveling this way can feel free to make a point to stay, you won't regret it.
It's a little pricey but clean and neat.
Would like as it is self catering, a table with chairs (in our case 2), pot and pan, hot water at sink. Otherwise great, until the grill is silver-clean.
Had everything that was needed to sleep over and make your own food!
Ideal for pets and located for flower viewing, but lacking in self-catering facilities.
See stars.
We were there in December. It was very hot. Fan could not cool the room. We found a small live scorpion in the curtain. The kitchen is not working well. Refrigerator is between dressing table and bathroom. Would rather put it on the stoep by braai area. There is please 2 point plugs. The shower head must please be replaced. The bedding was too warm and if you throw it off the mosquitoes eat you. The price was very expensive for "non-flower time".
We spent 2 nights in evening flower. The built-in braai area is perfect for overnight stays with small children and kept the cold wind out nicely. Centrally located to beautiful flower viewing areas with a nice view of the church and surrounding mountains.
Here you get what you booked for. Clean rooms with clean linens, microwave oven and two plate stove. Friendly hosts and helpful. Cozy reception.
It might be good to provide extra blankets, as well as a two-plate stove.
Compared to previous sleeping accommodation at the same price, it sticks out. There was no soap to wash hands. Barbecue and microwave, but no table. No closet for clothes. The place was clean and tidy. No breakfast over Covid. We were able to eat well at the nearby Kliphuis Kombuis.
We were not impressed with the campsites at Kroon Lodge. Too small and cramped and right on top of your neighbour. No braai grid supplied and base of braai spot was a corrugated piece of metal so difficult to rig up a support for your equipment. Very weak pressure in the showers with lukewarm water made for an unsatisfying start to the day.
It was not the best accommodation, but luckily we only stayed there for 1 night.
The perfect overnight stay on the way to the Northern Cape or Namibia. The owners were very helpful and friendly.
They can only pay attention to the hot water pressure and then the parking spaces are very small for a forest wagon and your vehicle.
Nice places to stretch out and see the world around Kamieskroon.
From our arrival to our departure we felt at home and special. The rooms are neat, very comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend Kroon lodge if you visit the area. It is also a good overnight destination if you are traveling up from the Cape to Namibia or back.
We can confidently recommend Kroon Lodge. Very nice, sheltered, private camping spots and neat rooms with a nice patio and barbecue area. Very friendly reception and safe parking.
Used caravan pitch. Space extremely limited.
Couldn't fault our stay. Everything was clean and tidy. The optional breakfast could do with a little variety.
The only criticism is that there is very little surface space to put anything down on. You have to work with everything on the ground. It's very uncomfortable - especially if you work with food.
Nice place. Secure parking. All I missed was a microwave oven, and self catering equipment plates etc. Since Kamieskroon is only a small place, it is difficult to find a place to eat. Friendly, helpful people!
Kroon Lodge's facilities are excellent and very clean.
Really impressed and planning another visit to stay longer.
Beautiful handmade iron and wood items for sale. Ina friendly and helpful.
Pleasant overnight place. A bit on the expensive side when I compare to other places where we stayed overnight during our Cape route. However, it is very peaceful.
Excellent location for exploring the area
Clean. No plates, knives and forks.
Place is very neat. Short a closet for guests staying more than one night. There are also no facilities to make food. Microwave or gas stove would have been fine. Breakfast can be discussed but was not pleasant at all, especially not the eggs.
With loadshedding there was no water as the pressure pump had no alternative power supply. The access gate damaged my caravan as it is controlled by staff and has no safety mechanism to stop if a vehicle passes through it.
KL's people very friendly and helpful. Room was very nice and clean. Something to keep in mind is that no food can be made inside the room. There is a nice outdoor barbecue on the stoep. Ideal place to spend the night.
No facilities/utensils/grill for outside braai.
All that in order. Nice place. A microwave oven would have made the stay easier.
Location good for exploring Kamieskroon and surroundings.
We booked a self-catering unit. No cutlery in the unit. Should have gone and asked for it. No microwave to heat food in unit. Found an old plaster in the bed. Booked and ate breakfast, but had no choice as to how the eggs were served. Staff were helpful.
They need to put out an outdoor table and chairs to eat off. We had to stand and eat.
The door has to be pushed open to get it to open, it only opens a little way then it gets stuck then you have to turn right to get in. The floor was not clean, hot water was colder than lukewarm. Not exactly a friendly welcome.
Thank you very much for the wonderful time with you.
What a great overnight stop. Very clean rooms. Security is great.
I would definitely come back to Kroon Lodge, very centrally located. Very friendly welcome, everyone is helpful. We had a great time. Would definitely recommend!
There was a good spirit among the guests. Lodge tries to make everyone feel at home.
We were kindly received in light rain and immediately moved to the cottage. Nice room with facilities. Very good value for money. Happy to recommend for travelers.
We would have arrived early to camp. Had car trouble and didn't arrive until midnight. Upgraded to rooms. Aunt Ina was waiting for us at that time of night and we were so grateful for her incredible hospitality. Ossie, you made my kid's day with the US dollar!
We were pleasantly surprised. We will return to Kroon Lodge.
Staff very helpful and provided us with all the cutlery for our barbecue. Also arranged for us to watch the Currie cup final. Excellent service thank you very much. Will stay here again.
We booked for self-catering - only a braai. Although I had the confirmed paid booking it was not on the Kroon Lodge book.
Nice stay. Will stay there again overnight, but just note that they charge 5% extra on all payments by card. Pay the full amount of accommodation via EFT before you go, otherwise if you pay with your card you will pay 5% extra, apparently for the card fees. So I paid 5% more on my outstanding amount on arrival. I wanted to pay the outstanding amount there via EFT, but the signals were poor and so I had to use my card.
Kroon is very neat and rooms are comfortable. Will recommend for sure.
Had a great time but a plan will have to be made about cats overturning rubbish bins at night.
The beds were not good quality at all and there were no bedside lamps. Otherwise good.
Had a very nice stay and will definitely recommend.
See stars.
Kroon Lodge is much more than just a place to sleep and is easily recommended! Nice and quiet.
It was a nice overnight chalet and good price.
Ablutions spotless. Beautiful camp sites. Staff very helpful.
We were a tour group of 9 people. We were welcomed with a friendly smile and warm attitude. One night was not enough to enjoy the wonderful stay, the breakfast was delicious. Thank you, Kroon Lodge, we will definitely visit again.
The layout of the park is good but a bit tight for larger caravans. Reception very friendly and efficient. A hassle and inconvenience was experienced as there is an additional charge if paying with a card.
Location ideal for visiting various places. Friendly service and immediate help if needed. Tidy. It would help if the housing units were equipped with crockery for two people.
Delicious breakfast enjoyed after a good night's rest in a tidy unit. Hostess very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.
We had a great stay. The ideal accommodation for an overnight stay and to explore the area.
Excellent facility, would recommend especially for couples traveling alone (safe, clean and good value for money). However, note that the campsites, although extremely comfortable, are only designed for small tents or caravans without attachments.
The rooms were small but nice and clean. As it was very cold, we were provided with warm blankets on request and just a table to sit on the porch in front of our built-in braai, while we braaied and played Dominoes.
We didn't know what we were going to find, but what a surprise when we got there. We didn't even look for the place. We felt so welcome and the room was a surprise for us. I can and will recommend the place to anyone. Keep up the good work you guys are doing.
We really enjoyed this campsite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean, modern and fully equipped (hot showers, bath tube, etc.). The campsite itself provided enough privacy and as well as a campfire place and protection against wind and weather.
Lovely stay and facilities very tidy.
Very neat caravan pitches and bathroom facilities.
Well located next to the N7 and entrance to the town. The site used to be the police station and we slept (very comfortably) in one of the old police cells!
Away from main road. Quiet. Beautiful mountains. Secure.
This is not a place to stay over and think you going to have a braai, we had to ask for everything we needed after travelling 850 km, because you only get a very small room badly equipped. We had to ask the young man running the place for everything we needed. You only have a kettle in your room. The man was very helpful but the rooms are very small, no microwave and even if you bought food along the way you going to be stuck with cold food it is still very new but for now I would not go again.
Neat, welcoming, sheltered and safe.
Will definitely go there again to really see flowers. The year was flowers but shy to appear because hardly any rain, but I know it can be an incredible sight to be there in a generous year. Room units are perfect, and even though we didn't pitch a tent, I can recommend their campsites - beautiful, tidy and facilities for camping section deserve 5 stars!
The location relative to Namaqualand's flowers, Cape Town and Namibia is good. Limited facilities in town, but available at nearby Springbok.
Thanks to Ina who handled everything perfectly after an initial misunderstanding. Thanks very much to her and also the owner who gave us his own unit eventually. We really appreciated it. We will definitely book there again and also recommend it to friends and family.
Will sleep there again on the way to Nam.
We had a most comfortable 1 night stopover. Very neat and clean. Could do with necessities like bread and milk that we hadn't bought before arriving.
Very clean, comfortable overnight spot. Camping stands very well equipped and the ablutions simply the best.
Unbelievably good people. Beautiful places in Kamieskroon. A gem hidden in a beautiful little town.
See star rating.
For the price I really expected a microwave in the room. Unfortunately, we had to heat our road food on the kettle.
It's well located and nice new and neat, but very expensive for just a place to sleep.
I spend 3 great days here with top personal service and quietness needed by all on holiday.
Very nice place. Love the camping sites. A bit small for anything larger than a 2,5 meter tent.
Kroonlodge, Kamieskroon gave us basic, but clean overnight facilities. It's literally just a place for overnight accommodation. We reckon the curtains need some attention - untidy and they don't block out the light like their supposed to. Hot water issue in the showe, even though management warned us about it.
Very pretty and neat accommodation. We were a tour group of 12 with 6 kids and had a blast. Would've been even more convenient if we could've eaten there and perhaps if there was aircon in the rooms. Excellent location from which to explore the Northern Cape and only a stone's throw away from Namakwa National Park. Would definitely stay here again.
It is definitely just a place for overnight like I mentioned.
The place is advertised as self-catering but it is not at all equipped. The room has twin beds and there is no space for your luggage. There was a big issue with the hot water because the wind kept killing the gas flame. The service from the office was bad. There were only hot water in the bathroom and if you want to braai you have to do the dishes in the basin or you have to walk to the caravan ablution facilities. The place was sparcely occupied but they didn't allow us to check in earlier and our room was only serviced after 14:00 the afternoon. Even though it looks good on the outside it is not at all recommended for self-catering. The town has no eateries where you can eat unless you book early in the day and if you don't braai you can't prepare food because there is no where to do it. We had kept falling over our luggage to inter and leave the place.
