Marloth Park properties are unfenced and contain a diverse range of wildlife that roams freely among the houses. Be enthralled by the giraffe, warthog, zebra, impala, monkeys and kudu as well as the abundant bird life as you sit at the lapa or in the pool. At night you can listen to the roar of the lions and hear the grunting hippo in the nearby Crocodile River and Kruger National Park while sitting around the fire or under the lapa.
Kruger Cottage is situated in Marloth Park, approximately an hour’s drive (105 km) from Mbombela (Nelspruit) and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and a five hour drive from Johannesburg (OR Tambo International Airport).
Enjoy an exclusive-use, self-catering, three bedroom/three bathroom thatched cottage with vaulted ceilings. The main en-suite has a double bed and the other two rooms each have two single beds and en-suite bathrooms. There is a sleeper couch in the lounge which enables the house to sleep eight. The open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge are spacious and lead onto a large thatched entertainment area with a splash pool and braai where you can relax and watch the game wandering through the gardens. All windows have mosquito netting and are monkey proof. Powerful ceiling fans are fitted in the bedrooms and the living area. A double carport is available.
The house has an alarm and Field Security provide around-the-clock rapid response service.
You will be conveniently located near the Crocodile Bridge (Komatipoort) and Malelane entrance gates to the Kruger National Park. Kruger Cottage is well-positioned for exploration into neighbouring countries: approximately one hour from the Swaziland border and 20 minutes from the Mozambique border.
A drive along the nearby Crocodile River will enable you to view the abundant game and birdlife through the fence in the Kruger National Park. Marloth Park also has its own fenced game reserve, Lionspruit, which contains the more dangerous animals, including lion, buffalo, rhino and leopard.
Marloth Park has its own local village with restaurants, a pub with big screen TV, large swimming pool, filling station, laundry (self-serve or pay by the kg), liquor store, butcher, home-baked goods, and two mini supermarkets for essential items.

47 guests' feedbackI booked 2 nights for my parents and received an extra night for free which my parents really appreciated. They saw many animals and really enjoyed the pool. The accommodation was very neat and my parents could rest without any worries.
Kruger Cottage is a very cute and tidy place. Would recommend to any person.
Nice big and spacious.
Thank you Kruger Cottage for your beautiful cottage, a home away from home. It was an amazing experience in the middle of nature. Thank you, thank you! Top-class accommodation. 5/5.
Comfortable house with nice patio.
We had a very nice, relaxed holiday. The unit is very well equipped and clean. We had a lot of visits from various animals. The bushbabies living under the veranda are adorable.
The house was clean and it had everything that you can need in a holiday home, I loved the pool, it was clean and warm for all seasons, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything, I am so happy. Will definitely visit again, my family also loved the house they can't stop talking about it.
We have just made some of the best memories and so glad we chose Kruger Cottage to stay at beautiful location and the best is waking up to animals greeting you outside your door.
Everything was present, even a coffee plunger. The pool was nice and clean and we felt safe. No complaints, we would like to come again.
Quiet environment with well equipped unit.
Very well equipped unit and nice to stretch out and relax, wonderful tranquility with many memories with nature and animals that came to visit.
The agent is friendly and helpful. The house is well equipped, very clean and tidy. First time we have stay in Marloth that the house is in such a good condition and the pictures are what you get when you get there. We will definitely use Kruger Cottage again for our 2-yearly visits to Marlothpark!
Kruger Cottage was not equipped with even the basic backup for load shedding - not even candles or matches were supplied. One of the geysers was not working, DSTV was not working, and one fan was not working. No outside dustbin was supplied for rubbish - you must take it with your car to the dumping site. All of this at R2000 per night. We feel ripped off and will not recommend or visit again.
Truly an experience to see animals so close.
Neighbor William was very helpful and fed wild animals before we arrived and this caused us to receive many visitors during our stay which was awesome!
It is a very nice place to stay. Might consider if I'm the owner maybe putting in an air conditioner ─ it can get hellish hot.
Kruger Cottage was really an experience that I would recommend to anyone. The house is very well equipped with everything and more than one would need. The owner shares good information before your visit and William (the caretaker) welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. The house is beautifully clean. It was wonderful to experience the woodland like this.
See stars.
We can confidently recommend Kruger Cottage. We could walk to the river within 5 minutes. Very neat and well furnished. A variety of animals came to visit. Thanks also to William for hosting us. We'll be back soon
Comfortable, everything one needs. Animals come to visit often.
Was a bit unlucky on arrival, owners were still busy with work after the time they gave us to arrive.
There was a problem with some of the locks but the owner immediately worked to fix it. Very quiet environment with all the night sounds that put you back in the woods. Will use the house again.
Thank you Kruger Cottage, you were good to us! We had such a nice stay and rested. The house is spacious and has everything one needs. Will definitely recommend. Our 11 month old daughter enjoyed all the animals around the house so much!
The place is well maintained and clean. Location in the park is perfect and the animal life around the place is lovely. The night owls are active in the evening and too wonderful to see them. Early in the morning, various animals come to greet you. We had such a nice stay there.
Nice homely house with lovely swimming pool. Nicely close to the Crocodile River and border of the Wildlife Park - often went for walks and enjoyed nature. Many animals came to visit and also got to know the resident forest monkeys! Will return again for a visit there! For sure!
The swimming pool was also a pleasure, but the place is not clean. The photos are deceiving. In the photos it does not show that one has to walk through one bedroom to get to the other room. The master bedroom's bath is in the bedroom. The toilet in the master bedroom leaks. We had to take our garbage bags to the landfill ourselves when we left, otherwise our "breakage fee" would be deducted.
The place definitely needs an aircon, because the "powerful fans" that were described help absolutely nothing. There is no washing machine and the location of the washing line (next to the braai area) and size of the washing line is not correct. One cannot hang all the clothes of every resident of the cottage. The crockery is not at all enough for 7/8 people to eat at the same time. There were 4 plates and 3 steak knives. It will need to be drastically upgraded. One champagne glass for 7 residents? The bins, the whole basket in front was full of other people's rubbish so we couldn't remove our rubbish. The tiles on the porch are incredibly slippery and caused the children to fall and get hurt. The door to the porch key was broken when we received it. We just closed the slamlock and hooked the door every time. Thank you very much for the neat place and the ice in the fridge.
Beautiful place, wildlife's unexpected welcome was a plus. Fully equipped. Have a great stay and relax.
We really enjoyed our short break at the Kruger Cottage. The splash pool works wonders in the heat and it's great to admire nature while sitting quietly in the pool. Thank you very much for letting us use your place!
Very spacious cottage. The night snacks were a special "treat". We had a great time. Thank you very much!
The Kruger Cottage was fully equipped and very nice to stay in. Well located and nature is part of the place. Would love to stay there again in the future.
The house was well equipped and contained everything we needed with comfortable furniture. Lovely size splash pool. We fed the bushbabies that came to visit every night.
It was delicious. Everything you need is there. You really don't need anything extra to take with you. Definitely recommend Kruger Cottage.
Kruger Cottage has everything you need and enough space in the living area. Walking distance from the Crocodile River with lovely view. Saw a variety of game - an elephant next to the fence! Perfect getaway in the bush.
Spacious house with nice kitchen, braai area and swimming pool. It's just what you want on vacation. The bonus is that it is only 100 m from the river and animals pass by the house every day.
No inventory to check content: 1. Back door cannot lock from inside ─ unsafe! 2 Toilet seat in second bathroom broken and soap dish lying on floor. 3 Frying pan is so rusted that we didn't want to use it. 4 Can opener doesn't work at all. 5 Stoves' thermostats do not work. 6 Barbecue area poor: no place to put grill. We had to go look for stones. Grille was unacceptably dirty. We had to scrub it first to be able to use it. 7 Floors are very smooth. 8 Patio chairs' straps are broken. 9 Air conditioner is really necessary. 10 What emergency measures are in place for power outages?
Having wild animals on your porch is very special. It is safe for children to play and often walked along the Crocodile River to see what animals we could see. The Cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. Definitely a highlight of our vacation! Excellent value for money!
What a pleasant place. The facilities are simple yet practical. My wife and I enjoyed the week with many visitors from nature. Just a big pity that we had to go home again. We both lost a part of our heart there and definitely need to go back soon to find it!
Kruger Cottage is a special place and everything is neat and comfortable. The visiting guests ─ zebras, kudus and ostriches ─ were a big surprise and very curious. My wife and I recommend Kruger Cottage and give it full marks. LekkeSlaap.co.za's service was great and absolutely the best, friendliest people to work with.
The list of dos and don'ts of Kruger Cottage should be on their website so that one can make an informed decision. Driving the rubbish away when you leave means I have to load the rubbish and ash bag with my luggage and go and throw it away at the rubbish dump. One has to clean one's own braai area without tools. I would prefer to stay at places where the barbeque area is cleaned every morning by the resort's staff.
As already mentioned, the accommodation was clean and tidy, the communication from the owner was continuous and he wanted to make sure we were happy. Our only negative comment is the safety of the area. On the contrary, on Wednesday evening something/someone was shot with a firearm not far from our place of residence. If the owners/management and Security companies do not apply proper access control, we will not go there again or recommend it to other people.
We had a wonderful stay. The splash pool was fantastic for the hot afternoons. Game roamed freely around the porch which made it very special. The cottage is very well furnished and nothing was lacking. Will go again and just take the whole family with me.
It was pleasant to visit Marloth Park. The cottage is spacious with enough space for four more people. The cottage is functional. We had rain and cold during our stay, and were able to use the Bosveld's Jacuzzi on the first day, which was very pleasant.
It was a fantastic house, nicely situated, saw plenty animals and I would definitely recommend my friend and go there again myself. Thanks to Debbie who assisted with the TV.
We really enjoyed our stay. We found everything we needed in the kitchen...a home away from home. The DSTV was however not working as promised as the plug was loose. I would also suggest that the pool be cleaned and filled before guests arrive. Having to do it yourself and then waiting over an hour for it to fill is a bit annoying.
We really enjoyed our stay at Kruger Cottage. Everything was spotlessly clean. Our only criticism is that there should be a proper bathroom with a shower added on, rather than having the bath in the main bedroom and a very small sink in the toilet area.
