25 guests' feedbackEverything was nice. The shower in unit 3's drain was clogged, and a very bad smell came from it all evening. Other than that, everything was 100%.
Would recommend it to anyone.
No problems. Pool clean.
We had a nice stay. The chalet was neat and well equipped, the children could keep themselves busy at the playground and the host was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We simply made our stay longer.
Quiet, safe and tidy.
Quiet and safe. Owners were friendly.
We saw more animals over the Easter weekend than we sometimes see in a week in the wildlife park. It is located right next to Kruger and we drove twice a day along the Crocodile River and saw a lot of wildlife.
The stay was enjoyed and well priced.
Just wanted to get away for the weekend but also sleep comfortably. The layout of Kruger Maroela is very good. You are among people but still you have your privacy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We could come and go as we pleased very comfortably.
Shall visit again. Great place to hang out.
Some suggestions. As we arrived no one helped us with our luggage or informed us of the rules. We were not sure if rooms get cleaned or not. I did ask the second day and someone told me they are not too sure but think it is only cleaned when we check out. We ran out of toilet paper the first morning already as well as black bags for the rubbish in the kitchen. The one night as electricity came back on the music was playing. At about 8h30 that evening I walked around to see that no one was around. I searched for the player to switch off the music. Not sure if there should be a person around but there was no one to be seen from when they left in the afteroon until around 10h00 the following morning. We 4 ladies were left alone. No one came to let us know that we will be alone. Saying that I was not scared at all it would just be nice to get a bit more info and enquiries from the people. Otherwise we had a good stay.
We were warmly greeted on our arrival. The only issues we had: 1. There are no small plastic bags for sanitary products and these items cannot be flushed due to the drainage system. 2. Was told there was a full DStv bouquet, but this was not what we found when we arrived. There were limited channels available. 3. The pool had no water in. Not that we were around to swim, but should we have wanted to this would have been a problem.
With all the rain, we couldn't drive around much and then the place just gets cramped.
The lighting in the rooms is very poor. One needs the lights because the windows in the rooms are small. The braai's grill strainer was broken. Curtains cannot be opened, they are stuck together.
We were kindly received and had a great time at the lodge. Bed was comfortable and in a quiet area. Will definitely go to Maroela again.
Very nice place to stay. Enjoyed the visit a lot.
The place, the view and nature part of the place was amazing.
We did have a nice stay, however on arrival at night we had no hot water as the geyser was not put on. The chalet that sleeps 6 is very small, although quaint. Very clean, comfortable beds but very hard seating inside. Nice private pool and braai area. Staff friendly and willing to help.
Very quiet and tidy.
We were looking forward to our break from the city and the peace and quiet of the bush, however this was not possible at Kruger Maroela Lodge. While the chalets are quaint, set in the bush and well-equipped, the following was a problem for us: Chalet 3 (where we stayed) is right on top of the restaurant. The constant loud music coming from the restaurant made it impossible to enjoy the tranquility of the bush as a family. When guests had left, the waiters and other restaurant staff played their music until we finally had enough and complained (on 2 of the 3 nights we were there). No noise control over loud music coming from other chalets and chalets are set very close together. It seems there is no respect among restaurant staff and guests. Management was not there to greet us, nor were they around during our stay. We saw them for the first time when we checked out. The two single beds had been prepped with the mattress upside down. My children had springs sticking into them until we finally realised what the staff had done, turned the mattresses and remade the beds. After staying at Kruger Maroela Lodge we went on to stay in a house in Marloth Park. We paid very similar rates and had the entire 8 sleeper house to ourselves. It was much nicer accommodation and the attention to detail was amazing. We felt like we mattered at guests and our stay has been truly amazing. Taking this into account, Kruger Maroela Lodge is way over priced for the accommodation they offer. We visited the lodge 10 years ago when it was still owned by the original owners. It was amazing. Sad to say that it seems to have become a commercial spot, too much focus on the restaurant and not enough focus on the comfort of guests that are paying a lot to stay there. Sadly, we will not be back.
The Christmas lunch was disappointing. We received a message with the menu and what would be served, but on the day the food served was not the same. The puddings were tasteless and some people got much less food than others. Some of the food was cold like the pumpkin and potatoes. The seats were completely overcrowded, for example they put all the people on the ground floor where they could also have used the upper floor and didn't make everyone sit together like that.
Just want to say a big thank you to the people of Krrger Maroela Lodge, the place was amazing, we really enjoyed our stay. We will use you again in the future.
We had a lovely weekend. The place is perfect. Beautiful wildlife seen, and shops with everything needed are located nearby.
Our unit was, so to speak, against the fence of Lionspruit. The bird life was amazing! It is a very nice unit and is very practical (showers a bit small). Everything is there that is needed. Really appreciated the privacy that was so well achieved between all the units. Really enjoyed the deck and pool! Will come again!
Friendly reception and it was very nice with the air conditioners. Very neat and clean.
